    Responsibilities

    Coordinate all project activities, monitoring and evaluation, project reporting, and dissemination of reports as appropriate.
    Lead in documentation and dissemination of change stories and knowledge products deduced from project implementation and learning
    Lead in identifying, assessing and building capacity of local implementing partners in target areas
    Engage in lobbying and advocacy with relevant Civil Society Organisations at micro, meso and macro level in influencing development and implementation of government policies necessary in enhancing access to quality and inclusive basic education
    Support administrative work of the project by providing logistical support to planning, training and review of workshops, conferences; and ensure invitations, follow-up, liaisons with relevant partners, volunteers, VSO Kenya staff and resource personnel are done.
    Support regular updates to partners and volunteers enquiries relating to the administrative matters of the Project.
    Ensure proper budgeting, timely budget tracking and check compliance to financial management policies and donor requirements through out project period
    Work cooperatively as a member of the Inclusive Education programme and support in signature programme design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
    Provide duty of care for all staff and volunteers in the project in collaboration with IE programme manager
    Manage the projects safeguarding caseloads with support from the Head of People and Operations
    Establish and strengthen partnerships relevant to realization of project/programme objectives
    Any other duties as may be required from time to time by the Programme Manager.

    Skills, qualifications and experience

    Bachelor of Education degree with specialisation in Special Needs or inclusive education; further qualification in development, project management or related area would be an advantage.
    At least 3 years relevant experience including the formulation, implementation and review of development strategies and effective project management
    Experience in developing and implementing advocacy and campaign strategies
    Experience working with children and youth with disabilities, and their families in education or livelihood initiatives or successful work with persons with disabilities.

    Provide post placement support through regular follow-ups, linkages to opportunities as well as engagement in ICS activities, advocacy and leadership elements.

    Support youth in developing and refining social action project proposals.
    Support alumni in implementing social action projects

    Security and safety of volunteers and primary actors and disciplinary management

    Conduct community, partners, host homes and activity risk assessments.
    Review the risk assessments on quarterly basis and share updated reports with the County People Manager.
    Medical facilities assessed and approved prior use of services. Incidences documented and reported to the country people manager as stipulated in VSO and ICS incident reporting protocol

    Budget Grants/ management;

    Role overview
    The M&E officer will support the successful implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework in line with the project design such as tracking of every out of school girl using an MIS system and monitoring field activity implementation by staff and partners. The M&E officer will be required to support the project officers to embed M&E systems and processes in their work and to support the project team to gather evidence of change and use learning to adapt, improve and to advocate for change. The M&E officer will also support data collection and knowledge generation within the Education Programme.
    Skills, qualifications and experience
    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies/economics, or monitoring and evaluation.
    A minimum of 3 years’ experience and progressive responsibility working in Programme management, Reporting and M&E for donor funded development programmes e.g. DFID, USAID, EU, Ford Foundation; Open Society etc
    Knowledge

    Role overview
    VSO Kenya is recruiting two Project Officers to manage and implement the Deliver Equitable and Sustainable Inclusive Family Planning program (DESIP) programme in Kenya. The objective of the DESIP project is to increase more equitable and sustainable access to modern contraceptives in Kenya, specifically for up to 322,000 additional users, with a particular focus on adolescents, people with disabilities and poor rural women in Kenya. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to promote universal sexual and reproductive health and rights, the programme also seeks to contribute to a world in which every mother can enjoy a wanted and healthy pregnancy and childbirth, every child can survive beyond their fifth birthday, and every woman, child and adolescent can thrive to realize their full potential, resulting in enormous social, demographic and economic benefits.     Funding strategy & positioning is aligned to programme priorities:Contribute to a global, coordinated fundraising strategy, centered around VSO’s Core Programme Areas and Signature Programmes – when required participating in the CPA and SP development processes (either as a process coordinator or a member of the core development team)Work collaboratively with wider funding team to help identify and plan strategies to position VSO with potential partners and donors
    Bid development:

    Rapidly pull together bid materials (proposal, presentation, concept outline) that bring a project or programme idea into a concrete, fundable proposition (including bringing out the VfM arguments, responding to donor/partner key interests, & being technically compliant, to ensure sound concept in line with good development practice and feasible delivery –
    Provide bid development for single and multi-country bids, regional and global calls and where VSO is a member of a consortia (as lead or sub)
    Manage and lead diverse proposal bid teams (made up of country office staff, partners, volunteers, VSO technical experts from finance, M&E & fundraising, programme teams and external consultants as needed) to deliver highly competitive concept notes and full proposals for all funding sources (institutional donors, trusts, foundations, major donors, and the corporate sector) -emphasis on large scale funding opportunities over £1M, complex and / or consortia applications
    Design and lead on proposal development workshops to bring together and validate consortia/bid team inputs
    Ensure legally binding teaming agreements are in place with consortia partners, and facilitate internal proposal risk assessment sign offs by senior leadership
    Ensure Value for Money arguments and Theories of Change and Cost Recovery are clearly articulated in all proposals
    As part of the wider business development team, provide high quality proposal review to other proposals (where not the lead)
    Identify, collate and share good practice and learning around donor requirements and agreed programme portfolio
    Contribute to the development of signature packages for country offices as part of the prepositioning and bid development core functions
