    Reporting for the Drop in Centre through DHIS
    Ensure there is proper patient record, support file retrieval and tracking
    Enter data from source documents into the cohort register database in real time
    Comply with data integrity and security policies
    Prepare and submit quality and timely monthly reports

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in statistics, health records and information or an equivalent in a related field.
    At least 2 years work experience in a similar position and preferably in an NGO
    Experience in the use of data processing and analysis software particularly Ms. Excel SPSS.

    Strategic Planning Consultant

    The context of the Assignment

    KANCO current strategic plan expires in December 2020, hence the need to finalize the development process of the new strategy and prioritization of our next strategic direction. KANCO has undertaken some key steps in evaluating the implementation of the current strategy, SWOT analysis and stakeholders engagement.

    The health sector environment is constantly changing and is characterized by an evolving policy and political environment, shifting donor focus/commitments, growing stakeholder numbers and expectations.

    There are key global development including the UNAIDS new strategy, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria business plan, GAVI the Vaccine Alliance Strategy, the STOP TB Strategy and the UHC national and global agenda that align with SDGs and influences KANCO business focus and model.

    COVID 19 provides a trigger and an opportunity to reflect on emerging epidemics; health sector emergency preparedness and the silent non communicable diseases. COVID 19 pandemic provides a new challenge that requires rethinking and repositioning of our response.

    The new paradigm of business acumen with focus on effectiveness, risk management, resilience and sustainability compels strategic thinking hence KANCO will be keen on strengthening her institutional capacity/structures and governance as building blocks for stronger organization.

    KANCO will need to focus more towards strengthening and fast tracking its sustainability in the midst of new challenges.

    Scope of assignment

    The main objective of this consultancy is to develop a new five year strategic plan that takes into account the current internal and external operating environment in order to enhance KANCO effectiveness, resilience and sustainability.

    At the end of this consultancy, we expect to adopt the new strategic framework, building on the achievements brought forward as part of the implementation of 2016 – 2020 strategic plan and cognizant of its ever-changing operating environment.

    To achieve this, the consultant will review and guide KANCO: –

    Through a consultative process and application of an appropriate analysis tools (SWOT, PESTEL and other relevant analysis) undertake a comprehensive situational and contextual analysis, and stakeholders mapping;
    Facilitate a process to develop a Vision, Mission, identify priority focus areas and develop strategic objectives and key result areas;
    Develop a Results and Learning Framework for the plan (M&E Plan);
    Risk analysis and mitigation approaches;
    Facilitate development of organizational management & leadership structure;
    Facilitate Costing and development of financing/sustainability plan;
    Facilitate development of an implementation plan including relevant human resource requirement;
    Hold stakeholder meeting(s) to validate the draft Strategic Plan;
    Finalize Strategic plan and submit to KANCO (hard and soft copy)

    Process

    This assignment will involve close engagement with the KANCO Board of Governance, management team and the strategic planning team with the leadership of the Executive Director through a participatory process, including, but not limited to:

    A review of key global and national documents in the health/development sector; internal documents and benchmark with affiliated organizations and similar institutions/ organizations;
    Consultations with governance board, members, staff and partners/ stakeholders;
    Review on the existing documentation on the achievements of the current plan;
    Review of the COVId – 19 opportunities and challenges
    Facilitation of a strategic planning workshop for staff, board members and selected stakeholders to further build on the Strategic plan;
    Drafting of Strategic Plan incorporating input from staff, Board and selected stakeholders and partners.

    Expected deliverables

    An inception report detailing the methodology/ approaches and timelines associated with this consultancy assignment;
    A needs assessment report highlighting the current status and gaps in KANCO strategic direction, covering both internal and external factors relevant to the organizational operating environment;
    A strategic planning workshop for the KANCO staff, Board and selected partners
    Strategic plan;
    An MEL and detailed implementation plan
    A process report that includes the major activities of the consultancy, the highlights of the strategic planning workshop and an evaluation of the workshop.

    Qualifications and experience

    The consultant is expected to possess the following among other academic qualifications and experience: –

    At least a master’s degree in a relevant field in the area of planning, public health, public policy, development studies;
    At least five years professional experience in strategic planning and management;
    Prior working experience in the health sector is an added advantage;
    Demonstrated experience in working with Non State Actors, Government, Development Partners and other stakeholders in Health and public sector development programs;
    Evidence of having undertaken similar assignments;
    Experience in research, policy development, management and programming-related work.
    Ability to work with minimal supervision;
    High level written and oral communications skills in English;
    Must be result-oriented, a team player, exhibiting high levels of enthusiasm, tact, diplomacy and integrity;

    Supervision: This consultancy assignment will be supervised by KANCO Executive Director

    The documentation will also attempt to propose some promising practices that can be maintained and replicated or scaled up in the future. The documentation will combine human stories and voices of beneficiaries with results based on official reports and accounts of technical staff and community leaders. These stories will be shared with Government authorities, development partners and the general public.
    The specific Objectives of the assignment are as follows:

    Document success stories and lessons learned from the implementation of the projects in terms of improving the overall health status of individuals, improving access to quality services e.t.c
    Create an information pack from compiled material for distribution to KANCO stakeholders

    The key areas of expertise required are:

    S/he will be responsible for the overall implementation and reporting of the project, at the County level.
    The Coordinator will support and provide leadership for grassroots advocacy; manage, train and support citizen advocacy groups and volunteer advocates in engaging with County governments, elected leaders and stakeholders on health advocacy work at the county level.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Implementing all aspects of Grassroots Advocacy Project work at the County Level,
    Analyzing county budgets documents and policies as it related to current advocacy issues at the County level as they affect health, develop and implement campaign plans.
    Coordinating the grassroots citizens and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to take advocacy actions at the County level.
    Establishing advocacy champions in the County Assemblies, the media, Civil Society and communities
    Coordinating Citizen Chapters by providing advocacy training to grassroots groups and advocates on engaging County Government, Media and elected leaders .
    Organizing regular meetings with group leaders and advocates for updates from the County.
    Creating forums for Group Leaders to share and support each other; share innovations, stay abreast of campaign plans and grassroots interests as well as facilitate communications with advocates from other Countries.
    Conducting trainings to the grassroots citizen advocates.
    Developing Media, Campaign and advocacy strategies on various health advocacy issues  in liaison with the issue analyst .
    Conducting outreach to NGOs, Unions and other organizations to encourage more citizen action and to gather intelligence on priority health issues for the County.
    Creating a bank of useful campaign-related stories and volunteer testimonials for use in media outlets.
    Developing best practice for Grass roots advocacy
    Undertake any other duty as assigned  by management  .
    Qualifications
    Degree in a social sciences, Public Health or related field.
    5 years NGO working experience in advocacy related program.
    Proven capacity to create and deliver on effective and successful advocacy projects.
    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, and capacity to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including decision makers, volunteers, media and NGO partners
    Knowledge of health programs.
    Experience in the political, citizen engagement, and legislative processes in the counties.

    The Technical Director Finance and Administration- Nairobi will report to the Deputy Executive Director. He/she will be responsible of overseeing all financial and administrative aspects of KANCO including managing financial systems, generating financial reports, monitoring project expenses, administering sub-awards, assuring grant management compliance, facilitating audits and managing finance issues.

    Providing guidance to the executive director regarding the organizational financial planning, budgeting ,cash flow and policy matters
    Preparing KANCO project and annual budgets and work plan, track expenses, ensure that required financial controls and cost-performance monitoring mechanisms are in place and adhered to, and ensure proper safeguards of funds.
    Ensuring compliance with established KANCO financial, accounting and administrative procedures and in accordance to the international standards.
