KBL operates in a very competitive environment that has seen the entrance of new players in the total adult beverage category. Market situation is changing rapidly due to the economic situation, declining disposable incomes and opening up of the economic trading blocs allowing in-flow of products from other markets. Consumers are becoming more sophisticated. This necessitates the need for pro-active business approach especially in Spirits. The nature of competition is complex with established players operating within a market that has regulatory challenges. The RTM chain is long, uncontrolled and competitive with margins being key deciding factor for listing. In some channels, the route to market is not well defined and needs to be developed so as to reach the consumer.
The Spirits Market is highly fragmented with many small players who are regionalised, launching and withdrawing their brands at will. Trade is evolving and being more sophisticated especially at retail level.
The KBL mission is to grow spirits market share from 47% to 70% by 2022. KBL has 96% volume share of beer market, and hence more skewed to beer across the value chain. The national distribution structure within the Kenyan alcohol market is key to KBL’s spirits delivery of both volume growth and market share.

The Business Engagement & Transformation (BE&T) organization is accountable for business partnering, solution delivery and user experience management. BE&T works across the Diageo Business Services (DBS) portfolio of projects, transformations and service offerings to drive market performance and outcomes. Purpose of Role
The primary purpose of this role is to support the Solution Delivery Leads in the area of transformational change and continuous process improvement. Experience of Quality Management principles and processes.

Graduate level in Chemistry/Biochemistry field with relevant experience. Overall, good knowledge of Quality and Food Safety legislation and standards.
Understanding /Awareness of audit techniques and methodology in QMS and Food safety standards.
Hands on Experience in Lab standards and development of Good Lab practices and systems.

Net Revenue Management Analyst
For Diageo to achieve its ambitious growth and profitability agenda across the world, markets need to transform the way they develop, plan and execute their commercial plans. The NRM Insights and Analysis lead will therefore be expected to;
Support the HoNRM, to embed NRM ways of working and processes into the local market Planning and Business Performance Management routines, grounded on in-depth and incisive analysis.

The scope of this role is market based – Kenya; which has 97% volume share of beer market. KBL is one of the leading FMCG companies in East Africa and also markets UDV brands. KBL operates in a very competitive environment that has seen the entrance of new players in the total alcohol category. This necessitates the need for a pro-active business approach. An advantaged national distribution network within the Kenyan alcohol market is key to maintaining KBLs competitive advantage and delivering of both volume growth and market share.
Changing macros driven by competition for limited disposable incomes and the opening up of economic trading blocs allowing in flow of products from other markets. Consumers are also becoming more discerning demanding better value for money at the bottom end and un compromised quality at the top. This requires proactive selling to maximize company market share. Trade is evolving and being more sophisticated especially at retail level.
Purpose of RoleEnsure thorough analysis monitor each of the levers to the delivery of the targeted levels of NSV and price/mix
Support the delivery of the end to end NRM services and business outcomes in line with objectives.
Support the creation of fact-based insights and facilitate insight-driven discussions to create and implement strategies and tactics which can grow revenues and profits to deliver customer/channel/country financial targets in the short and long term
Own the end to end monthly/annual NRM processes
Support the all- round advice and coach others on the NRM opportunity and their role in it

Technical Specialist – Packaging & Engineering

The technical function in Diageo is responsible for assuring brand equity and developing innovative supply solutions. It is a customer focused technical resource, combining technical expertise with business and consumer know-how to support brand services, engineering & process development, risk management, brand quality and science & technology. Types of roles in this function include risk managers, project scientists, brand services managers, quality managers and advisers, technicians, technical analysts, development technologists, and engineers.
Some of your Responsibilities will be;
To identify the optimum supply solution for all packaging innovation projects in KBL, managing the pipeline, serving as a single point of contact for Supply while managing relationships and ways of working with KBL Supply Centers, Technical Centers, Brand Teams, Suppliers and Manufacturers.
Lead packaging and engineering concepts, commissioning to commercialization and launch, taking full accountability for the Technical Project Deliverables, working in partnership with Diageo Supply, EABL Supply Centers and CAPEX scoping engineers. Roll out such projects to supply.
Carry out projects and co-ordinate plant trials on new processes / components with a view of cost cutting and or quality improvements to give the business a competitive advantage in the market.
Develop packaging components and engineering solutions in liaison with marketing innovations for renovations / new products to capture market share in line with marketing objectives.
Drive collaborations with Suppliers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to deliver innovations/renovations.
To be a success you must have;A degree in a scientific discipline, e.g. Applied Science or Engineering.
Post Graduate IBD/VLB Qualification.
At least 4 years’ experience in Engineering Function
Good understanding of total end-to-end supply chain, Planning & Manufacturing environment.
Good understanding of manufacturing best practices e.g. DMAIC, Lean Manufacturing etc.
In depth knowledge of at least one of the process streams and general knowledge of the other streams.
