    The Position:
    The Dean who will serve as the chief academic officer and chief administrator of the School of Law, will report to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs.     Job Purpose and Expectations

    Over-seeing continued enrollment growth and Student Retention.
    Enhancing and Promoting the Distinctiveness of the School. The dean must be able to share the story of why this should be the school of choice for students seeking a law or criminal justice degree.
    Fundraising and Revenue Development. The Dean is responsible for generating stronger external funding support through fundraising and outreach to grow student scholarships, add staff support, develop faculty, and promote student success.
    Risk Management Processes. The Dean is responsible for the School’s risk management as well as recognizing emerging trends and best practices in the administration and management of schools of law.
    Alumni, Civic and University Engagement. Expand and reinforce relationships between the School of Law and its alumni regionally, nationally, and globally.
    Communication and Transparency. Fostering and promoting a culture of open communication, inclusivity, transparency, and accountability among faculty, staff, and students across the university.
    Budgetary Management. Planning and executing an administrative budget for the School of Law assuring that operations are executed within allocated funding, and actively seek additional ways to strengthen the revenue stream.
    Faculty Development. Developing and retaining a robust faculty who are sensitive to the needs of the students. The Dean will maintain and strengthen the intellectual, research, and service aspirations of faculty offering ongoing support and encouragement for scholarly activities that lead to publications in leading journals, the procurement of grants, and contribution to expanding knowledge vital to the practice and profession of law.

    Qualifications and Experience
    The successful candidate should possess:

    A Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Law or any other equivalent terminal degree in law from an accredited institution, and at least ten years of experience in the teaching and/practice of law.
    A record of successful fundraising experience and a demonstrated skill in partnering with university advancement officers to secure external gifts, grants, and funding to support law school programs.
    Evidence of scholarly publications and professional achievement sufficient for appointment as a professor/associate professor/Senior Lecturer at Africa Nazarene University.

    Academic and Professional Requirements:

    Master’s degree in instructional design, education technology, or other related field that are aligned with the tasks of this position will be an added advantage.

    Demonstrated skills and certification on web technologies, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and eLearning authoring tools.

    Qualifications and Experience
    Associate Professor:

    A PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Community Development/Development Studies/Sociology/Anthropology/Local Economic Development from a recognized/accredited university
    At least six (6) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Senior Lecturer or Senior Researcher or eight (8) years practice and senior leadership in international/community development.
    A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent, in refereed scholarly journals for the Senior Lecturer/Senior Researcher track and twenty four (24) publication points and evidence of National corporate/leadership and community development impact.
    National, Regional and International recognition for research and/or leadership impact in the field of Community Development.
    Supervised at least four (4) post-graduate students to completion, including at least one doctoral student.
    Attracted research funds as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow or evidence of attracting donor funding for Community Development.

    Senior Lecturer:

    A PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Community Development/Development Studies/Sociology/Anthropology/Local Economic Development from a recognized/accredited university
    At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer or Researcher or four (4) years practice and senior leadership in international/community development research/industry experience.
    A minimum of twenty four (24) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, in refereed scholarly journals.

    General Expectations:

    Job Description/Requirements
    The University seeks to engage a suitable and qualified candidate for the following position
    The Director will be expected to be well versed with University policies in general, have access to various corporate forums and keep up to date with the emerging online learning issues.
    He/she will be responsible for managing and coordinating online learning in the University in line with CUE Universities Standards and Guidelines.
    The position reports to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs.
    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and implement policies, procedures and standards of effective delivery of online learning.
    Oversee training of instructors and students in the use of online learning technology, methods and procedures.
    Oversee development of instructional materials and products development.
    Monitor quality and compliance of courses offered online by ensuring that ANU and CUE standards are adhered to.
    Provide monitoring reports and quality assurance feedback.
    Coordinate online learning on ANU’s Learning Management System (E-Naz.)
    Coordinate online exams through an accredited exams proctoring system.
    Liaise with marketing to promote technical or marketing information about online learning.
    Coordinate research, monitoring and evaluation on the utilization of online learning services.
    Assess effectiveness and efficiency of instruction according to ease of instructional technology use and student learning, knowledge transfer, and satisfaction.
    Manage the technical resources, such as course management and video conferencing systems, networking, and webcasting, for online learning programs.
    Establish linkages with relevant external institutions and individuals to support online learning at ANU.
    Select, direct, and monitor the work of vendors that provide products or services for online learning programs.
    Share latest trends and developments in the area of online learning to faculty and staff through seminar, workshops, internal communication and other forums.
