    You will report to the Global SHEA and Safeguarding Lead and will be part of the cutting edge, Global SHEA, and Safeguarding Team – working to create a feminist and survivor-centred approach to preventing to sexual harassment, exploitation, and abuse- including child abuse. This role also involves a close working relationship and day to day collaboration with ActionAid’s Global PSEA Advisor and ActionAid’s network of Global SHEA & Safeguarding Focal Points, across the federation.
    As the parental leave cover for the Global Child Safeguarding Advisor, you will help deliver our SHEA and Safeguarding strategy with a focus on preventing and protecting children and young people from sexual exploitation and abuse perpetrated by ActionAid’s staff and representatives, or harm resulting from our programmes.  This work will involve support to the ActionAid Federation to deliver on the Global Child Safeguarding Policy, 2021. It also involves developing procedures to prevent and respond to allegations relations to breaches to the Child safeguarding Policy, 2021. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the ActionAid Federation to realize capacity and create an approach to preventing breaches of AAI’s Child Safeguarding Policy, 2021 all areas of our work. Your remit will also include overseeing cases and risks relating to Child Safeguarding Policy breaches carried, out by ActionAid staff and representatives.  This role also involves developing tools and approaches aimed at addressing the specific SHEA & Safeguarding risks which young people face, when they encounter ActionAid’s work.

    Who we’re looking for:

    To succeed you will At least 3 years’ experience working in an international context on Child Safeguarding or Child Protection, PSEA, Sexual Harassment, GBV/ VAWG, Protection or Whistleblowing.
    Preferably a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field such as Human Rights, GBV or sexual violence, humanitarian approaches, Social Work, Child Protection or other related field. You will have embedded Child Safeguarding or related practice into programmes and have experience of developing policies and risk management structures.
    You will also be used to handling complex investigations and cases in a child- sensitive manner.
    You will have experience designing and delivering training, awareness raising and other capacity sharing activities for staff, partners, and other stakeholders.
    You will also be used to developing and operating monitoring and evaluating child safeguarding mechanisms.

    We are recruiting a Grants and Compliance Advisor to provide timely support and advice to ActionAid federation members in effective grants compliance and risk management of institutional donor grants and contracts. Your role will primarily provide support to multi-country projects funded by Norad and SDC, support on USAID compliance, tools development, and other new areas of focus.
    You will work closely with the Grants & Compliance Team and wider Institutional Funding Team (IFT), helping to ensure ActionAid members by providing timely support and advice on effective grants compliance and risk management of institutional donor grants and contracts.
    A key part of your role will be capacity building, developing technical guidance, monitoring risk both internally and with external partners. Therefore, you must have strong communication, risk management and grant management skills. Having audit experience would be an advantage.

    Degree or diploma in Business Studies, Economics, Finance or a related field or equivalent experience.

    Role Overview:

    The International Project Manager provides overall oversight of the Young Urban Women: Life Choices and Livelihoods Programme (YUW) working with national project staff in each of the project countries and an international project accountant. Reporting to the Global Lead for Women’s Rights and Feminist Alternatives, the International Project Manager also coordinates regional and international policy advocacy on behalf of the project, linking it to national and local-level work.
    The Young Urban Women: Life Choices and Livelihoods Project (YUW) supports the agency and activism of approximately 10,000 young women living in urban informal settlements in 19 cities across India, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa. The programme addresses the interlinkages between economic security, bodily integrity- including sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) – and the disproportionate burden of unpaid care and domestic work in the lives of young women. It aims to dismantle the structural barriers that prevent young women in urban areas from fully enjoying their social and economic rights. Amajor focus of the project is access to universal, gender-responsive public services and social protection. 

    Who we’re looking for:

    A degree holder in a relevant field.
    Advanced project management experience of at least seven years in (a) development organization(s); preferably in multi-country women’s rights projects involving young people in the global south
    Very strong thematic knowledge of feminist analyses of and approaches to macroeconomic policy, including the link to women’s paid and unpaid labour, sexual and reproductive health and rights, public services and social and economic justice more broadly
    Excellent strategic thinking, writing and communication skills
    Experience in policy analysis and commissioning research gained in an NGO or public policy context

    The Role:

    This is a fixed short-term role to support projects that support ActionAid’s programme and policy work on economic justice with a particular focus on tax, debt and austerity and their impact on the financing of gender responsive public services, social protection and environmental policies. The role will support in the day-to-day project management, while focusing on documenting the impact of the projects and with end or project monitoring and evaluation. This is aimed at both sharing stories of ActionAid’s work with wider audiences and to showcase ActionAid’s work for other potential future funders
    The Project MEL Officer will be responsible for supporting effective planning, implementation, learning and keeping track of and reporting on project activities and will support project implementation, documenting impact, monitoring and evaluation for two multi-country projects on economic justice.
    They will provide leadership and coordination on all MEL processes and manage data, analysis as well as  monitoring and evaluation for the projects. They will connect with countries and partners involved to ensure effective planning, reporting and monitoring and evaluation; facilitate effective learning and communication of project impact and ensure compliance to contract rules and regulations. In addition, they will support project managers in providing administrative and technical programme support.

    Who we’re looking for: 

    The ideal candidate should hold either a University degree in the fields of Political Economy, Social Science, Pubic Policy, Development Studies, Human Rights, Governance or other relevant humanities or have more than 3 years’ experience in project management or MEL. 
    You should also have an excellent command of English with excellent writing skills. One or more other international language (preferably French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic) is desirable.
    You should have substantial experience in designing monitoring, evaluation and learning systems, Theory of Change, MEL tools and processes in an international development or social justice context; experience of providing leadership, support and guidance on monitoring, evaluation and learning across development programmes/projects; demonstratable experience and knowledge in the collection, consolidation and analysis of highly diverse data, including the use of both qualitative and quantitative methods; project management experience within a regional or international agency, applying rights-based approaches; demonstrable experience working  in  a multicultural context / environment; excellent project monitoring and writing skills.

    The Project Coordinator leads and manages the project’s strategic development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.     You should be fluent in English and the ability to speak French is highly desirable.

    As Media Officer, you will develop and deliver creative on-message media materials including press releases, stories, statements and opinion pieces across a variety of topics. Often working under pressure in response to large scale humanitarian emergencies.
    Ideally with previous experience working in a press office, you’ll have experience managing competing priorities, responding to incoming media requests and developing and delivering PR plans which support the organisation’s strategic priorities..
