    Key Responsibilities:
    Technical support

    Provide effective technical support to the World Vision Kenya teams implementing environment and climate change, DRR, Carbon Development and landscape restoration Programmes and projects.
    Support programs/projects to ensure that high quality Technical program/Project Designs, Annual plans and Budgets are in place while mainstreaming environmental management and climate mitigation in the project/programs
    Develop/review environment, climate change, carbon and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) programming guidelines and business processes for smooth Programme/Project implementation
    Support WVK in making policy and strategy level decisions on environment, climate Action, DRR and carbon programming within the context of the organizational strategy and the WV environmental stewardship policy.
    Provide effective technical support to project teams on carbon project development/design and project cycle management. Additionally, in collaboration with field project teams; support the carbon management cycle in the two-track cycle of carbon related projects
    Develop an overarching framework (based on different land tenure systems), to analyse carbon rights/ benefit-sharing under different programming contexts for World Vision Kenya (WVK).
    Guide the organization on effectiveness (especially environmental effectiveness), efficiency (economic efficiency and promotion of investment) and equity implications of carbon rights and benefit-sharing systems.
    Lead multi-disciplinary teams to undertake actions related to GHG and carbon feasibility studies, project design document development, and GHG and carbon certification technical assistance
    Support in the management of project team activities including the preparation of project work plans, schedules, budgets, technical activities, and coordination of technical staff and sub-consultants to ensure efficient carbon programming
    Analyse carbon markets, standards and certification parameters to support decision mechanisms for carbon-related projects.
    Guide the organization on carbon credit modelling, monitoring and measurement frameworks.
    Integration of carbon-related landscape restoration and management elements in Child Learning and HH Resilience TP Design and/or yearly Annual Operation Plan (AOPs, DIPs, Annual Budgets).

    Accountability, Learning and Innovation

    Oversee development and implementation of environmental mitigation and monitoring plans at the TP and project levels
    Facilitate capacity building of staff, partners and communities on emerging/contemporary trends, WVK core models and approaches (Regreening communities, FMNR, climate action strategies, carbon programming) in all relevant programmes and Project in World Vision Kenya
    Contribute to regular learning forums to profile, communicate and ensure adoption of promising practices as well as disseminate strategic environment, climate action and carbon development and management guidelines
    Ensure interpretation and utilization of assessment, baselines and verification on quality of designs
    Strengthen research, learning, documentation and dissemination of WVK work in environment, climate action and carbon for up-scaling of proven successful practices within World Vision and without
    Ensure development and effective use of standardized monitoring tools for tracking environment, climate action and carbon programming indicators by staff and partners
    Gather data at National level for reporting on environment, climate mitigation and carbon (MMR, Semi-Annual, Annual Reports) and CWB Annual Report
    Upscale and support WVK’s current work and integration on environment and Climate Action within and among WVK’s areas of operation
    Enhance innovations uptake for effective tested and approved technologies and practices in environment, climate change and carbon programming.
    Support review of AP and grants key documents – progress reports, ToRs, assessments

    Grants Acquisition

    Oversee development of capacity statements and other marketing materials on environment and carbon
    Lead in development and utilization of MOUs / working agreements with sector strategic, funding and program/project implementation partners for environment and carbon projects
    Participate in Go-No Go Processes, write ups, meeting with prospective donors and submission of concepts/proposals
    Support project impact analysis including project environmental and social impact assessment during proposal stages to inform Go/No Go decisions on carbon-related projects.
    Technically support Resource Acquisition & Management (RAM) team to develop proposals/concepts to prospective donors and SOs for environment and carbon-related projects as per the yearly set targets;
    Physically present/defend carbon development proposals to donors in coordination with RAM when required
    Respond effectively to calls and queries by donors and SOs on key Concepts/Proposals in liaison with RAM
    Develop Sector specific Job Descriptions and support recruitments and onboarding of technical staff in liaison with People & Culture department

    Partnerships, Engagement, Networking and Advocacy

    Participate in joint technical coordination, planning and review meetings for environment & carbon-related landscape restoration projects, plans and initiatives within the organization and externally including with government.
    Establish and maintain strategic contacts with the UN, Government, INGOs, Universities, Research Institutions, Donors and Embassies
    Ensure WVK representation in key strategic environment, landscape restoration and carbon-related working groups and forums
    Support/enhance linkages with EARO and GC DRR, Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action and Resilient Livelihoods learning centers for continued backstopping to enable quality programming within WVK
    Ensure mainstreaming of advocacy in Child Learning and HH Resilience TP projects
    Ensure key International Days are celebrated in partnership with key stakeholders

    Other Duties

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental studies, climate change, forestry, geography, natural resources management or equivalent from a reputable university.
    Relevant post-graduate qualification(s) will be an added advantage
    Membership with professional bodies on environment, climate change, carbon development or forestry is added advantage
    At least 7 years’ experience in forestry, natural resources management, climate action and carbon project design and implementation and GHG measurements or modelling.
    Experience and knowledge in local, regional and global policies and guidelines in environment, climate change, Carbon development and DRR e.g. Financing Locally Led Climate Action Program (FLLoCA)
    Good understanding of climate change issues of climate change issues, natural resource management, resilience adaptation, mitigation, carbon development and environmental stewardship
    Experience leading or participating in carbon studies such as carbon feasibility study, Agriculture, Forestry and Land Use (AFOLU) carbon assessments, GHG and carbon project due diligence, and/or project design document development.
    Good interpersonal and organizational skills with management experience.
    Work experience in implementation of integrated livelihoods, ecosystem restoration and carbon offset projects;

    Experience in implementing climate mitigation approaches particularly in the forestry and energy sectors.

    Job Description:
    The Investigation Specialist will be expected to plan, organize and manage workstreams as required in respect of all investigations assigned to them.     MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
    30% Conducting Investigations

    At the direction of the  Regional Oversight Committee, execute professional investigations into sensitive, complex, and other high risk workplace allegations in line with relevant functional case management procedures and protocols.
    Produce a high-quality investigation report that reports facts and provides management with actionable recommendations for managing risks.
    Act as a trusted advisor to Senior Leadership in communicating recommendations and advice for allegation handling for a wide variety of matters that may arise.
    Maintains appropriate case records for assigned investigations and for investigations overseen by the Regional Oversight Committee.
    Professional management and careful judgement in the handling of sensitive information sources (whistle-blower/reporter information), and the handling and documenting of evidence and investigative materials with a sophisticated understanding of confidentiality and privacy concerns.

    25% Mentoring and Training other Professionals

    Provide oversight, advice, and mentoring to other professionals in the region are asked to conduct investigations on an ongoing basis, ensuring consistency and a high degree of quality.
    Regularly monitor investigations that are being overseen by the Regional Oversight Committee for quality and professionalism, providing coaching and correction as needed. Monitor and support the Roster of investigators within the region to ensure designated investigators are up to date on required trainings to ensure a consistent degree of skill and reliability.

    25% Analysis & Reporting

    Identifies and tracks trends, lessons learned from investigations to inform learning, adaptation and improvement of policies, procedures and strategies. Provide the Regional Oversight Committee and Regional leadership with a holistic view of all investigations occurring within the region.
    Identify and flag any root cause or systematic issues within a given office or functional area that may require further risk management.

    20% Monitor Case Management Practices

    Regularly monitor ongoing incident reports and investigations within the organizational case management systems to ensure that regional and field office staff are capturing key data needed for long-term analysis.
    Ensure cases are being closed in a timely manner and escalate any potential issues or risks to the RL for attention as needed.
    Liase with Global Centre functional units regularly to ensure good coordination amongst departments at the regional office and within field offices.

    KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE:

    4-5 years’ experience as a workplace investigator Strong investigation, research and analytical skills
    Proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong interpersonal and working relationships in a dispersed virtual, international context.
    Strong writing and communication skills
    A track record in providing strategic and tactical advice and direction to investigations being conducted by others.
    Experience with translating data into information and analysis that communicates an easily understood concept or message.

    Required Education, license, registration, and certification:

    Certified Investigator (any internationally recognized certification is acceptable).

    Ensure timely preparation of periodic reports and project documents in line with the donor and world vision standards

    15% Advocacy, Partnerships, Engagement & Networking

    Engage County stakeholders to ensure that DREAMS beneficiaries receive layered services from multiple implementing partners
    Support functionality of DREAMS coordination structures in the counties, communities, schools and health facilities
    Establish partnership with private sector and County players to increase opportunities of AGYW to employment, internships, concrete entrepreneurial activities and enrolment into higher education
    Engage DREAMS county government and other civil society partners to ensure the provision of a safe space for the identified AGYW
    Participate in DREAMS related Technical Working Groups (TWGs) at National and County levels
    Conduct County government engagements to influence budgeting

    5% Team Management

    Model a high standard of personal Christian leadership, ministry, and integrity though lifestyle and work relationships that support the spiritual development of the team
    Provide technical supervision to the Program Coordinator(s)
    In close collaboration with the People & Culture department, ensure the right program staff are recruited, retained, and provided with intentional opportunities, mentoring and coaching for the development
    Support professional development for supervisees through on job training, off-site training among others
    Facilitate capacity building of staff on technical modules, through trainings, workshops, On the Job Training and technical backstopping etc
    Ensure staff participate in morning devotions and are supported to grow spiritually
    Ensure accountability and performance management including consequence management where necessary

    5% Others

    Contribute in fundraising initiatives as required 
    Perform any other duty as may be assigned by supervisor or designee from time to time
    Participate and contribute in committees and task forces as required
    Attend and participate in daily devotions

    Knowledge & Qualification
    Required Professional Experience

    At least 7 progressive years of experience working in a HIV, RMNCAH, Adolescents programs within PEPFAR funding, 4 of which must be at management level Strong knowledge of DREAMS implementation and the evidence behind successful approaches to attaining the Program objectives Strong familiarity with PEPFAR and USAID policies, procedures, rules, regulations and reporting requirements for INGO led project Demonstrated knowledge of the Kenyan health and community systems & structures, and ability to build and sustain strong relationships with DREAMS stakeholders  Demonstrated skills in collaborative engagement, program planning, knowledge management, facilitation, networking and communication Strong budget  management skills

    Bachelor Degree in Health or Social Sciences or any related field, a Master’s degree is desirable
    Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

    Demonstrated knowledge of the support and landscape for AGYW issues in Kenya Ability to plan and manage work in a logical manner Proven leadership and ability to build and motivate diverse and talented teams Cross-cultural sensitivity, and emotional maturity Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform Good negotiation skills

    Key Responsibilities:
    Planning and Reporting

    Collaborate with the Communications Manager to strategize and execute communication content plans for the Programs/projects of the Livelihood & Resilience Technical Program.
    Participate in the design of communications business plans and initiatives that ensures the program delivers on high-value results. 

    Content Development for IMARA, RESAF, and CRIFSUP

    Craft Compelling Narratives; Develop and curate high-quality stories centered on the programs with a focus on children that showcase the tangible impact of World Vision’s initiatives. These narratives should be tailored for optimal engagement across digital platforms and be suitable for marketing, fundraising, and public outreach campaigns, Media, Internal, Emergency & Advocacy
    Curate Topical and Timely Content focused on Climate Change; Identify and generate content that aligns with the programs’ core priorities, ensuring relevance to global events, awareness days, and significant moments. This proactive approach aims to engage audiences effectively and deepen their connection with our programs.
    Centralized Content Dissemination; Systematically share and distribute developed stories and content, ensuring that the material is accessible through recognized and approved information management systems.
    Uphold Organizational Protocols in Content Creation; Ensure that all content adheres to World Vision’s safeguarding guidelines, brand guidelines, and other pertinent protocols to maintain the organization’s integrity and protect its beneficiaries.
    Engage in Feedback Loops and Audience Analysis; Regularly gather feedback on released content, analyze audience responses, and adjust content strategies based on these insights to optimize engagement and resonance with the target demographics.
    Stay Updated with Content Development Trends; Invest time in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends in content creation, storytelling, and digital engagement, ensuring the programs remain current and effective.
    Collaborate with Multimedia Teams; Work closely with video, photography, and design teams to ensure cohesive multimedia content production, optimizing the narrative and visual appeal for maximum audience impact.

    Media Relations

    Develop and maintain key media contacts and build strategic relationships with media in Kenya, including international correspondents.
    Proactively pursue opportunities to pitch compelling story ideas including press releases to the media.
    Facilitate and coordinate the program’s engagement with the media in Kenya to position the programs as credible voices for children and voice of authority on advocacy, humanitarian and development issues.
    Coordinate, plan and facilitate media visits to World Vision’s programmes

    Others

    Participate in Trans teams and support other initiatives by partners in the spirit of integration
    Any other duties as might be assigned from time to time

    KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related discipline
    At least 5 years of working experience as a writer/reporter in media company or an international development organization focus on communications
    Experience in writing and producing content for NRM/Environment and Climate Change (ECC) and other L&R initiatives will be preferred
    Excellent writing, editing and photography skills.
    Experience creating content for digital platforms i.e. websites and social media. Experience in media, the humanitarian sector and donor engagement. 
    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office Agile, proactive and driven personality.
    Demonstrates creativity and innovation. 
    Ability to achieve results working in a multicultural context and with diverse teams.
    Ability to work harmoniously within teams, meet tight deadlines under pressure.
    Strong collaborative, networking and influencing skills. Strong planning and organizational skills.
    Photo editing skills are desirable
