    IDEAL CANDIDATE

    3-5 years of professional experience in economic and business modeling.
    Proven experience in data collation and coding, with proficiency in R preferred .
    Strong writing skills, with the ability to create clear and concise reports and policy briefs.
    Experience engaging with government entities or stakeholders in the conservation sector would be an advantage.
    Excellent attention to detail, rigor, and efficient task management.
    Experience working in a multicultural, dispersed team.
    Flexible and comfortable with change—exhibiting a “startup” mindset.
    Excellent communication skills; written and spoken English is essential, with and/or Portuguese being an added advantage.

    Academic Process Management:

    Responsible for maintaining student records at the campus level. This includes but not limited to; processing student matriculation, transfers, withdrawals and leave of absence.
    Process new student records, including setting up cumulative folder, and entering student data into appropriate databases such as Salesforce.
    Coordinating class schedules and resolving scheduling conflicts, whilst being able to survey sequentially.

    Managing Student Data Records:
    Build and maintain academic data systems that enable ALU to collect data on students’ academics that is reliable, updated regularly and in a timely manner. Data on students’ academics include their choice of majors, grades, attendance, academic standing and graduation dates.

    Coordinator and Integrator:

    Work with and implement systems to coordinate reporting of student academic standing between Admissions, Program Leads, Dean of Faculty, Head of College and other internal and external stakeholders such as; regulatory and accrediting bodies.

    Academic Policy Ambassador:

    Working with various pieces of data requires utmost confidentiality and integrity. Having an awareness of internal Data protection, attendance and campus policies for example, the Assistant Registrar must be able to familiarize themselves with these, actively refer to them and reference them where needed.

    Overall Responsibility
    The VP of Technology will establish a world­ class technological roadmap to enable ALU’s vision over the short, medium and long term. He/she will lead the systems architecture and technology roadmap (software, systems integration, hardware, networks, server infrastructure etc) needed to achieve ALU’s ambitious milestones over the coming years.
    The VP of Technology will be responsible for building a solid and productive team of software engineers and computer engineers to deliver these aggressive goals.
    Key Responsibilities
    Owner of technology vision and roadmap at ALU
    Define, put together and manage a medium to long term technology roadmap for ALU, from systems architecture to systems integration, custom software engineering, network design, hardware, server infrastructure.
    Define and implement policies, standards and procedures for use of software applications in teaching, learning, finance (especially collection of student fees), student acquisition (e.g. digital marketing), employer partnerships, campus infrastructure management, administration, student life, alumni relations, etc.
    Build out technology division within ALU that includes software development, platform engineering and strong technical support across the organization
    Define and implement policies, standards and procedures for use of applications across the entire organization
    Build out an integrated system that allows ALU to easily manage a mix of on ­campus and digital students seamlessly
    Identify and evaluate new technologies and their appropriate applications and potential impact on teaching, learning, research and administration

    Essential
