    We need P1 teachers at our Githurai location.

    Teaching of the primary school curriculum to improve quality education.
    Establish and maintain up to date professional and administrative records.
    Organizing the classroom and learning resources to create a positive learning environment.
    Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class.
    Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation through provision of stimulating activities that will arouse their curiosity, interest and enhance their discovery and observation skills.
    Provide feedback to parents on pupil’s progress during education forums and report forms
    Taking part in school events and coordinating co-curriculum activities
    Staying up to date with changes and developments in the curriculum structure
    Working with the school management and other stakeholders to ensure meaningful participation of learners in all aspects of education
    And any other duty assigned by the officer in charge

    Minimum Requirements

    At least 3 years of progressive experience as a primary school teacher.
    Proficiency in Kiswahili; both written and spoken
    Experience in inclusive education and safe learning environments initiatives
    Experienced in using learner centered model of teaching

    Job Description
    The candidate will be incharge of the following:

    Preparing schemes of work and lesson plans for the children on a daily basis.
    Preparing creative and stimulating activities that the children can participate in.
    Preparing games and outdoor activities the children can engage in.
    Monitoring the children’s progress and development. · Preparing reports on the children’s development. · Discussing the children’s progress with other teachers and parents.
    Developing activities and teaching programs that are culturally appropriate
    Reading books to the children.
    Demonstrating learning activities to the children. · Maintaining complete and accurate records.
    Labeling and organizing learning materials.
    Adapting the available teaching methods to meet the interest and needs of the children.
    Supervise children at all times.

    Requirements:

    A mean grade of C and above in KCSE with atleast C+ in English
    Diploma/ Certificate in ECDE from a recognized institution
    At least 1yr experience as an ECDE teacher
    Able to work with children of Ages 2-6 yrs.
    Able to speak good English.

    Qualifications:
    A degree, diploma or certificate in Early Childhood Development (ECD) At least 2 years teaching experience (age group 2-6 Yrs) in a fast paced environment
    Responsibilities:

    Plan and execute appropriate activities for the children each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work and lesson plans
    Monitor and keep record/ reports of the children’s progress and development.
    Assist in bus loading and unloading,
    Utilize the transport phone & phone list to communicate with parents and the school as needed during transport. Observe and evaluate each child’s progress and provide a written report to the head teacher and parents.
    Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests
    Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
    Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
    Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools. Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.
    Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them. Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
    Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and policies and procedures to maintain order among students. Teach basic skills, personal hygiene, and social skills.
    Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play, learning and motor-skill activities, and safety.
    Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests, or other experiential activities, and guide students in learning from those activities.
