    The poster holder will be an adult learning specialist whose role will be to deliver on the Cash & Voucher Assistance (CVA) capacity building commitments of the Humanitarian Capacity Building Group (HCBG) work plan and in line with priorities set by the Cash & Market Humanitarian Technical Working Group (HTWG).     ROLE PURPOSE:
    The Global Humanitarian Surge Platform (GHSP) operates on behalf of the members and SCI, and is dedicated to identifying, developing and deploying skilled and experienced surge staff from across the movement to meet the needs of our domestic and international responses.     Role Purpose: 
    The Fleet/Warehousing Assistant is responsible for assisting in warehouse management, safe driving of vehicles and staff for Save the Children Kenya programme. He/ She should ensure proper maintenance of warehouse and cleanliness of vehicles in compliance with required standards. In addition, the role holder will be responsible of ensuring warehouse management and vehicles are serviced on time and maintenance reports are generated on monthly basis. The role holder will be required to provide excellent service delivery to the programme in regard warehousing in line with Save the Children policies and SOPS. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
    Key Areas of Accountability
    Warehousing

    With the assistance of the Supply Chain Coordinator,  implement effective stock management and administration systems, thoroughly monitoring stock levels and advising on appropriate stocking and replenishment to meet project demands
    Ensure that the items in the warehouse are properly stored and all records are up to date
    Ensure all incoming and outgoing stock is managed according to the warehousing and stock management standards as per SCI policies and regulations.
    Custodian of all warehouse documentation. Ensure that all paper work is completed and filed correctly. These include GRNs, Stock release, waybills, bin cards, stock cards and distribution lists.
    Check and inspect goods received and ensure they are of accurate quantity, specifications and acceptable quality.
    Record any damaged, faulty/missing goods.
    Liaise with the Office Cleaner to ensure that the warehouse is neat and clean at all times.
    Ensure the appropriate storage and physical condition of stocks according to their specific requirements
    Ensure all stock is released with stock release form and stock release approval.
    Ensure all goods are tracked by description, source of funds (SOF) code and project code.

    Vehicle driving and Maintenance:

    Providing weekly/Monthly usage report of vehicles including total mileage, fuel consumption and expenditure.

    Organise the transport of supplies directly to SCI designated location for use.

     In consultation with the Fleet Officer, coordinate staff movement.

    Plan, assign, supervise, review and participate in the inspection of SCI and hired vehicles.

    Collaborate with the procurement team on all procurement of applicable parts and maintenance activities of all SCI fleet.

    Ensure that the Line Manager is immediately informed of any accidents/incidents and the accident reported to the police as appropriate and as soon as possible.

    Ensure that the vehicle is insured and in the event of an accident make certain that proper procedures for insurance claims are followed.

    Report and supervise all maintenance and repair needs of assigned vehicles.

    Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures

    Secondary school education.

    Professional qualification / certificate in warehousing management or equivalent.

    Minimum of Possess a (BCE/ ABCE)-Class Driving License for more than 5 years of professional driving experience in an NGO or similar environment, including significant field operations experience running both emergency and development programs

    Fluency in written and spoken English. Similar skills in Kiswahili will be an added advantage.

    Some practical experience of user vehicle maintenance.

    Proven experience working as a Mechanic /Driver Logistics Assistant in a similar context.

    Vehicle mechanic course from a recognized institution preferably government graded (Trade text 1) 

    Ability to multi task and work calmly under pressure is essential for this position.

    The Organization
    Save the Children has been operational in Kenya since the 1950s, providing support to children through developmental and humanitarian relief programmes delivered both directly and through local partners.     Role Purpose: 
    The post holder will be accountable to the Emergency Response Coordinator for supporting Finance, HR, IT, supply chain and Administration services in programming contexts. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with SCI global standards, policies and practices. The position also plays a key role in effectively supporting program implementation activities in line with the annual and country strategic plans.

    Support recruitment process in the field office. 
    Facilitate and follow up induction and on boarding of all staff engaging with Save the Children as per the Induction guidelines.
    Work with HR in Nairobi in updating the staffs HRIS files, leave plans, as well as updating of the leave database and monthly status reports sent out to staff.

    Role Purpose: 
    The role holder will be responsible for implementing better health and nutrition among communities through nutrition education, surveillance  and supporting the MOH in increasing uptake of MIYCN (Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition), IMAM surge approach scale up, Promote community led complimentary feeding and Roll out community/mother led MUAC screening.     Key Areas of Accountability
    Nutrition Education trainings

    Participate in the development of training curriculum and tools and facilitate/co-facilitate all nutrition education trainings
    Provide technical, logistical and any other support for the trainings in the various divisions.
    Liaise with relevant ministries and partner agencies in selecting participants for trainings while ensuring that priority is given to the staff working in the key agreed areas
    Liaise with the ministry and other partners in ensuring that nutrition education are comprehensively done following set guidelines

    Monitoring and Evaluation

    Supervision

    Assist the community health extension workers (CHEWs) implementing nutrition activities to develop monthly work plans.
    Mentor the Sub county nutritionists to ensure that they support and supervise the community health extension workers in their areas of coverage as required
     Ensure regular meetings with the Sub County nutritionists and community health extension workers
    Document and share lessons learnt in a comprehensive and detailed manner to enable track trends on changes on a timely basis 

    Development of nutrition education training and counselling materials

    Participate in the design/adaptation of appropriate nutrition education and promotion methods and tools, and pre- testing them with the team and community members.
    Liaise with the health education department at the Ministry of health to adapt and produce appropriate nutrition education materials
    Participate fully in reviewing the community training guides and counselling cards
    Identify and document locally available foods and develop recipes
    Oversee and guide staff in providing on-site cooking demonstrations and workshops 

    Network and coordinate with the relevant sectors and agencies in implementing nutrition activities at national and community level

    Identify areas of synergy in the field with the Ministry of Health and other implementing agencies working with communities. 
    Come up with a comprehensive plan of activities within the identified areas of synergy with the actors named above.

    Implement Community Mobilization Activities

    Carry out community based nutritional promotional activities targeting community groups. Activities to mainly include MIYCN sessions, community feedback meetings and social mobilization
    Liaise and establish strong links with existing community structures including mother to mother support groups, community units, youth groups, village elders and religious leaders.

    Implement the development and maintenance of a referral system

    Work with Nutrition workers to develop and maintain a referral system at community level in which community health workers refer malnourished children and mothers needing special attention to the health facilities.

    Role Purpose:
    The jobholder has overall responsibility of the Financial Accounts function, and partly support the budgeting and Reporting function. The position holder will also deputise the Head of Finance. They will also be responsible for ensuring best in class financial controls and management at field office level – including capacity building; implementing efficient & effective processes; improving and ensuring compliance with internal control systems.

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
    Financial systems and procedure

    Assist the Head of Finance in ensuring smooth implementation and updating of robust and adequate financial systems and procedures in line with SCIs finance Policy and good accounting practices.

    Develop and update the finance diary that covers all the required activities on a monthly basis and lead staff to ensure that the diary is strictly adhered to.

    Ensure that all financial transactions are fully supported and that they are all captured in AGRESSO on a daily basis; make sure that regular backups are taken and stored off site.

    Prepare monthly and quarterly financial diaries for both AGRESSO and sub-office finance systems and ensure its strict adherence to the HQ deadlines.

    Maintain and ensure the integrity of the SCI’ computerized accounting systems and liaising with Regional Finance Team for any required support

    Financial records and transactions

    Carry out sensibility and control checking before and after posting sub-office transactions into AGRESSO. 

    Follow up HQ transactions from London and make sure that all are processed in the time and accurately.

    Financial reports

    Responsible for timely, accurate and efficient financial reporting (both electronic and manual field returns) to head office.

    Responsible for ensuring that reconciliation of balance sheet/control accounts are carried out on monthly basis and ensuring that year-end accounting procedure are met consistently and that any discrepancies are reported to the Head of Finance.

    Financial and system controls

    Ensure safe security of cash in the office and coordinate weekly and monthly cash counts, including spot counts

    Ensure that systems are put in place to assure document security for a complete audit trail from the AGRESSO records to supporting documentation and vice versa. 

    Ensure the effective and efficient use of all Save the Children resources in order to keep costs low and ensure the security of staff.

    Ensure payroll is completed on time and accurately, with robust controls in place.

    Financial Planning and Reporting

    Ensure that effective systems are in place, and regularly reviewed, to allow adequate financial management and controls in budgeting and reporting unit.

    Audit function

    Lead on annual statutory audits and the financial component of donor audits. Key focus on proactive financial controls, management and supporting documentation in order to ensure 0 disallowances.

    Keep track of statutory and donor specific audit requirements and coordinate closely with awards to initiate required audits on time.

    Lead in managing audit process with External Auditors ensuring smooth audit and provide all documents required by Auditors as and when needed

    Ensure proper soft and hard archiving system is in place in finance as per SCI policies and procedures 

    Plan and conduct internal audits for all Sub recipients and field offices with the coordination of the Internal Auditor
