    Role Purpose
    The Driver is responsible for safe driving of vehicles and staff for Save the Children Kenya programme. He/ She should ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles in compliance with safe driving standards.  Ensure the vehicle is fuelled in time for trips and carry out proper management of fuel supply for the assigned vehicle in accordance with SCI policies and procedures.
    Key Areas of Accountability
    Driving and Maintenance:

    Maintain vehicle log and fuel consumption documentation.
    Prepare daily vehicle usage report, including trip use, mileage and fuel consumption
    Providing weekly usage report of vehicles including total mileage, fuel consumption and expenditure.
    Maintain valid drivers’ license.
    Organise the transport of supplies directly to SC designated location for use.
    Complete the logbook for everyday trips and complete the fuel log sheet for any fuel purchases.
    In consultation with the Program Support Officer, coordinate vehicle allocation for staff.
    Keep the vehicle documentation up to date
    Update the whiteboard once the movement plan is approved.

    Control of Vehicles:

    Ensure that all vehicle journeys are authorized in advance by line managers
    Ensure that all vehicle journeys are recorded in the logbook at the start and completion of journey.
    Ensure that keys and vehicle documents are kept in secure place when the vehicle is not in use
    Ensure that all passengers wear seats belts before driving the vehicle
    Ensure that  a waiver is filled and approved when carrying non SCI staff
    Ensure that the Line Manager is immediately informed of any accidents/incidents and that the accident is reported to the police as appropriate and as soon as possible
    Ensure that the vehicle is insured and in the event of an accident, make certain that proper procedures for insurance claims are followed.
    Report on all near misses

    Vehicle checks:

    Check the vehicle prior to its use every morning, fill the checklist and file it.
    Check on taking over a vehicle and ensure that the items listed on the vehicle checklist and in the vehicles tools and materials inventory are present and in functioning order.
    Check level of motor oil, water, tyre pressure, battery water and brakes to ensure that all are up to the standards required before any journey commences.
    The driver is to check for vehicle defects and damage to the vehicle and ensure that he reports them to his line manager promptly.
    Report and supervise all maintenance and repair needs of assigned vehicle.
    Check communication equipment and maintains communication while in the field with base (SSFP)

    Cleanliness and visibility:
    The driver is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is kept clean on the outside and inside at all times. The driver is also to keep the vehicle tidy and ensure that all dirt is removed from the vehicle after a journey.
    He/She is to ensure SC visibility protocols are adhered to at all times.
    Other

    Follow and abide by traffic rules, regulations, driver safety manual and any other instructions given by supervisor
    Maintain all vehicle safety equipment, as per vehicle safety kit, in liaison with the logistics officer- including first aid kit, communication equipment and fire extinguisher
    Work after duty hours or holidays/weekends as and when required and in prior notice from the line manager
    Escalate complaints and feedback of a serious nature to program support officer and field office child safeguarding focal point.
    Perform any other duty as reques

    ROLE PURPOSE:
    The role will be responsible for leading the design of additional operating models that enable the implementation of Save the Children 2030 ambition. The postholder will work with Country, Regional Offices and Centre teams to identify and prioritize critical operating model gaps and will then lead the design of the components of the new models (governance, accountabilities, policies, systems etc.), using pilots when possible. They will also liaise with critical global projects (Localisation, National Offices, SCUSI etc.) and other parts of SCA to understand their needs and interdependencies. An astute thinker, the post-holder will also be encouraged to analyse and test emerging practices and models that could be taken to scale.
    Where applicable, the role will lead the development and pilot of a Change and Deployment Plan in coordination with other functional areas and lead or support any implementation process for the new models.
    The role will also lead on the improvement and updating of relevant tools, including the review and revision of the Country Office Operating Model (COOM) Toolkits and the Centre-Region Operating Model (CROM) with the inclusion of updated guidance on the new operating models developed. COOM provides Country Office Senior Management Teams with the tools they need to ensure they have a fit for purpose structure and effective ways of working in order to deliver programs for children. The Centre-Region Operating Model (CROM) is a framework that provides clarity on the core accountabilities that Country Offices, Regional Offices and the Centre need to achieve.

    Role Dimensions: This role will manage multi-stakeholder relationships in a complex networked organisation and in a number of geographies. The role will involve daily liaison with colleagues from SCI Country Offices, Regional Offices, Centre and Members. The role will also regularly engage with the Membership and Organisational Development team who leads on different aspects related with corporate development and business models.     ROLE PURPOSE
    This position demands the technical knowledge, management skills and the work experience needed to run a health project. The Nutrition Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring management of Malnutrition Initiative project is executed in line with SC, Country, county, national and international humanitarian standards and donor guidelines and in line with the nutrition sector priorities and in collaboration with other partners in the sector and other related sectors. It will also involve active participation in the nutrition sector coordination forum, other agency and key nutrition sensitive sector liaison, capacity building and supervising staff using techniques and tools available and appropriate to Turkana donor funded sub-counties and health facilities.

    SCOPE OF ROLE: 
    The role will primarily focus on overseeing child protection program and providing technical assistance to the CP team and ensuring accurate planning of CP activities, timely expenditure of activity budget and effective coordination within the team and across other humanitarian actors in Dadaab. The role holder will also be charged with developing quality and timely donor reports and contributing to the proposal and budget development for the CP sector.

    PROGRAM DELIVERY

    Performance management and supervision of all CP staff

    Lead and motivate the CP team to ensure effective project implementation.

    Work with the field Officer to oversee the management of the Separated Children’s Database as a tool for information storage and analysis, and case management. 
    Continue to develop understanding on children’s meaningful participation throughout the programme, and work with child protection staff on strategies to enable children to identify and address the issues of concern to them and promote their voices in local, regional and national.  

    Monitoring , Evaluation and Reporting

    Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team for monitoring and evaluation of programme activities including taking corrective action where necessary; preparation of Counselling reports, documentation of lessons learnt.
    Document milestones and success stories in the community-based child protection initiatives.
    Document programme learning and ensuring it contributes to organizational advocacy.
    Maintain an up to date information pack of various aspects affecting the beneficiaries in liaison with the other program teams and do analysis of the reports  -.
    Ensure timely implementation of budgeted activities in addition to budget tracking and control and ensure clarity of reports on the various advocacy aspects in the camps.

    Partnerships and coordination.

    Ensure close coordination of outreach activities with other agencies in the three camps to ensure complementarity and synergy.
    Build partnerships to enhance community participation, ownership and sustainability of programmes. 
    Collaborate and coordinate with other child protection agencies, governmental institutions, host community partners and community level structures in order to promote community ownership and sustainability of CP initiatives.
    Represent Save the Children and the CP program in interagency working groups and camp coordination meetings and build from the strategies developed through the Child Protection Working Group.
    Represent the CP programme and advocate with community, partners as well as other external visitors.  Liaise closely with other actors in the child protection sector on issues related to vulnerable children.  Ensure that consideration is given to their particular needs within general child protection strategies.  
    Work with appropriate partners within the child protection sector to ensure the mainstreaming of child protection and those children’s rights are considered in the process of legislation formation and institution building.
    Where necessary, represent the Child protection Manager and Coordinators in meetings, both internal and external and engage with the Host Community partner.

    Coordinate with finance and awards team to ensure effective budget monitoring for the project in line with donor requirements and contractual obligations, including Grant opening, mid-term and closing meetings.

    CHILD SAFEGUARDING: 
    Level 3:  the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; ore because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
    ROLE PURPOSE: 
    In 2019, the Global Humanitarian Surge Platform (GEHSP) was launched to increase the quality, speed and effectiveness of our global surge capacity in supporting the delivery of our humanitarian responses. In 2020, the Technical Expertise (TE) Request Platform was set up to support country programmes with the technical expertise they need, when they need it.   In April 2021 the TE Request Platform became part of the GEHSP to form the Global Expertise and Humanitarian Surge Platform (GEHSP).  
    The Global Expertise and Humanitarian Surge Platform (GEHSP) is Save the Children’s global humanitarian surge, technical expertise and new business development deployment management function, operating on behalf of both members and SCI. It is dedicated to identifying, developing and deploying skilled and experienced talent from across the movement to meet the needs of our domestic and international programmes and humanitarian responses. Our vision is to help to improve the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of our humanitarian responses and programmes; directly contributing to Save the Children’s capability to deliver the best outcomes for children and their families.
    The GEHSP is responsible for:
    Ensuring our humanitarian responses have access to suitably skilled and experienced staff they need to deliver a high quality and timely humanitarian response;

    Managing the end to end deployment process for all surge deployments;
    Identifying and developing future humanitarian surge staff to meet the needs of our responses;
    Identifying new and innovative ways to meet the surge needs of our responses.

    HSTs work alongside country, regional and member teams to support the scale up and management of international and domestic emergency responses, enabling positive change for children. The role of the surge staff varies depending on the needs of the response and could include:

    Deploying in the first days or hours following a natural disaster or crisis to lead the first phase of a response to sudden onset emergency;
    Supporting ongoing emergency response and recovery work through providing advice, guidance and expertise in a specific skill area;
    Providing short term interim cover for country office staff; 
    Supporting delivery of capacity building initiatives. 
    The Team Leader will generally be deployed to manage a Category 1 or 2 response, and to provide response oversight and strategic direction to the country programme in collaboration with the Country Director and the Operations and/or Humanitarian Director. In rare occasions, the Team Leader will be deployed to out of area responses and will be reporting directly to the relevant regional office or SCI centre. 
    The Team Leader is responsible for identifying needs and resources and elaborating programmatic, operational, strategic and leadership recommendations for the emergency response in line with Save the Children national and global priorities. The post-holder will develop and manage programmes or country support functions and negotiate and network at an international level.
    They will ensure that all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to child safeguarding, safety and security, code of conduct, equal opportunities and other relevant policies are in place.
    The post holder will play a leading role in the effective scale up and management of Save the Children emergency programmes to increase impact and enable positive change for children.

    KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

    Assume overall oversight of country-wide or regional, most often categorised as Category 1 or 2 emergency response in collaboration with the Country Director and other relevant CO SMT members, or where applicable set up response programmes in countries with no SC presence.
    Ensuring strict compliance of programme activities with Save the Children national and global policies and procedures and with relevant donor regulations and agreements, SPHERE guidelines and the NGO code of conduct.
    Lead on country or regional level strategic planning for the humanitarian response to ensure an effective emergency response in all of its phases of delivery
    Having oversight over the development of relevant master budgets, aligned with the Response Strategy objectives, for the duration of the response and for multiple sites and multiple sectors where appropriate. S/he will take overall leadership on the implementation of the Response relevant national level budgets, while keeping relevant stakeholders informed and ensuring any corrective actions are taken where required. 
    In coordination with relevant (E)SMT level members from both the Response and CO teams, s/he will ensure the preparation of a timely programme delivery and submitting the donor reports on project activities in compliance with internal SCI requirements and any relevant external donor requirements.
    Ensuring that the relevant project monitoring plans and systems for identifying and tracking the indicators and develop processes/procedures and forms to support monitoring and inform learning are established and implemented.
    Ensure optimal safety and security management procedures and practices are in place for the emergency response programme and continually monitor the safety and security situation, adapting staff safety and security procedures accordingly in collaboration and cooperation with the Country Security Manager.
    Oversee effective functioning of logistics systems to procure, store and distribute stock, supplies and services for the timely delivery of project objectives at national level
    Ensure strong accountability to beneficiaries
    Plan, identify and resource appropriate and effective structure & staffing needs for entire response; In liaison with the HR Director ensuring that personnel policies are in accordance with national laws)
    Oversee the development & implementation of staff well-being (policy) and ensure appropriate staff well-being and R&R policy and processes in place

    Ensure that capacity strengthening plans and performance management systems are in place to develop the requisite competencies in staff to ensure ongoing sustainability and quality of response
    Coach and mentor international staff and national level counterparts and link in to wider organisational talent development mechanisms.
     Representation & Advocacy & Organisational Learning:
    Represent Save the Children’s emergency response on a national, regional and international level to donors, the media and members of the humanitarian community. 
    Help shape broader sector strategies through influence of and leadership within inter-agency coordination forums, ensuring the specific needs of children are being addressed
    Regularly undertake high level representation and advocacy with Government partners and officials as well as donor representatives. Establish systems for communication with local Government partners, relevant line departments and community representations in the project area(s).

    ROLE PURPOSE:

There are many systems and tools across the organisation that are used to generate, store and communicate data and information as well as pockets of capabilities and process that is focused on driving continuous improvement. As we move into our next strategy period and we are facing an ever increasing need to support the most marginalised and deprived children through our breakthroughs, the need to enable better prioritisation and decision making becomes ever more clearer. Alongside this, for many of our priorities for the next period, our chances of success are greatly increased through effective and efficient use of our data driven consistently across our movement. Through an aligned and forward looking data and analytics strategy and an effective and responsive approach to managing data and analytics supply and demand we aim to reduce administrative burden on our core operations, ensure we make the best use of data and associated tooling we already have available, improving the quality of data we hold on our operations and outcomes to enable better decision making and enable a continuous focus on driving efficiencies and continuous improvement. 
    The role of the Head of Data and Analytics will be to initiate and deliver on our Data and Analytics priorities for Save the Children to include ensuring we have a clear strategy and path to reach our defined outcomes. Initially the key focus will be to establish and mobilise the project team and setup the required governance to manage the required transformation priorities as well as ensure there is a robust process to effectively assess and prioritise data and analytics needs across the organisation and match these with available business and IT capabilities to meet needs in line with priorities and resource availability. Once we have the initial team and governance in place we then need to ensure a focus on scope definition to include understanding our current state, required future state and what needs to happen to close the gap between the two.     Professional Requirements

    Students pursuing post graduate studies from reputable national, regional or international universities studying disciplines relevant to the work of the Save the Children International.
    Young professionals, on completion of at least undergraduate degree, who have not yet entered the formal employment arena.
    Should be available on full time for the duration of the programme.
    For Finance, in addition to a first degree, candidates should be either fully qualified CPA/ACCA or studying for the final part of either of the two courses.

    Personal Attributes

    A high degree of self-motivation, positive attitude, drive and the ability to contribute to a multi-cultural, team-based work environment.
    Strong networking capacity and excellent interpersonal skills.
    Ability to multitask; work flexibly, creatively and under pressure in response to needs or changing demands.
    Extremely well organized.
    Highest ethical standards.
