    Role Purpose:
    Save the Children is seeking a highly qualified Program Director for the anticipated USAID Bureau for Resilience and Food Security (RFS) Evidence Aggregation for Programmatic Approaches 2 (REAPER 2) Activity. They will lead the REAPER 2 program, focusing on broad evidence aggregation and synthesis activities for existing evidence aggregation work and the identification and application of innovative tools to improve the speed and quality of evidence review. These activities will inform creation of knowledge products and learning opportunities.
    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
    Required Qualifications

    Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    At least ten (10) years of experience in management, particularly in managing research efforts, such as evaluations and large-scale, mixed-method surveys;
    At least 5 years of experience in designing, managing, leading, and coordinating food security and resilience programs and evaluations.
    Demonstrated experience in providing strategic direction, technical assistance and thought leadership related to resilience to a wide variety of stakeholders
    Experience in building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, fostering engagement and learning across USAID Bureaus and learning mechanisms and serves as a main point of contact for the portfolio and maintain regular communication with donors and partners to ensure transparency and efficiency of plans, reports and actions.
    Technical expertise in agriculture, food security, nutrition, resilience, or related fields in the context of international development;
    Familiarity with a range of evidence generation approaches and their associated levels of rigor, including evidence gap maps, systematic evidence review and synthesis, and dissemination formats to facilitate knowledge utilization;
    Experience with program evaluation designs and methods (experimental and quasi-experimental impact evaluations, non-experimental designs, qualitative methods, etc.)
    Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
    Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
    Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally

    Save the Children is looking for a consultant to develop a suite of training and guidance materials for the math component of its Catch-Up Clubs program. Catch-Up Clubs are mainly community-based extra-curricular learning opportunities that provide revision in foundational skills for children in the upper primary grades. They take place over a compressed time period and build on the learning methodologies of Pratham’s Teach at the Right Level (TaRL) approach and elements of Save the Children’s Literacy and Numeracy Boost programs.

    Under the guidance of the Catch-Up Club technical group, and the Safe Back to School Task Team, the consultant will undertake the following:
    Review existing materials for the reading component of Catch-Up Clubs, and information on the ASER / Pratham TaRL approach for Math, generally, as needed.
    Consult with Save the Children staff with experience designing, training and delivering reading Catch-Up Clubs, including experts in community case management and cash and voucher assistance.
    Consult with Save the Children staff and review design notes on incorporating Math apps into the math version of Catch-Up Clubs.
    Create a manual for math Catch-Up Clubs that provides guidance for designing two versions of the math Catch-Up Club program: a paper-based club; a math app-based club.
    Create a facilitator training manual with guidance on facilitating both versions of the Math Catch-Up Clubs.
    If needed, create a supplement to the facilitator coaching guidance regarding coaching math clubs that are using a math app.
    Design and lead a comment and review process to receive and integrate feedback from technical advisors into the final versions of the materials.

    The Senior Social Protection Technical Advisor will use their in-depth contextual understanding, technical expertise, and relationship building skills to define and deliver our strategic ambition for Child Sensitive Social Protection (CSSP) in East and Southern Africa. The role will lead strategy development and the technical design and implementation of high-quality programmes that deliver change for children in both emergency and development programming. The Social Protection Advisor will ensure that all social protection programming is of excellent technical quality and contributes significantly to Save the Children’s strategic objectives, national/global learning and advocacy. The role supports Child Poverty team members in national advocacy and influencing, and driving strategic partnerships for new business development. The role will provide technical advice in the design and implementation of social protection programming and also supports the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems to demonstrate impact, while sharing learning across our programmes, teams and partners. This role includes a focus on training and coaching country office staff for external representation on priority issues including improving coverage and impacts for children through social protection systems, with a view towards supporting progressive realization of Universal Child Benefits, as well as nutrition-sensitive and shock responsive social protection, and poverty graduation discussions, among others.

    The Regional Procurement Specialist will have technical responsibility for the procurement element in the region, the management of Regional Procurement Unit (RPU), strategic sourcing and all procurement transformation/capacity building initiatives for ESA.     The role will also include taking a lead role in advising ESA country offices to achieve improved quality assurance and better sourcing outcomes of their procurement processes. The role holder will own and drive the comprehensive transformation/continuous improvement agenda across people, process, policy and digital initiatives, the role holder will contribute technical and local context input to global initiatives and be responsible for their deployment into ESA countries.
    The role holder will be responsible for ensuring annual financial benefit targets are met from all of the sourcing conducted in ESA countries.  The 2022 target is approx. $3m. The role holder will also steward and influence the work of all staff that conduct procurement in ESA countries (estimated at 250 people), maintaining the procurement essentials certification database.
