    Reporting to the Senior Manager – Managed Security Services, the successful candidate will lend support in Cyber threat detection, working in 24/7 shifts, providing eyes-on-the-glass service for Managed Security Services, performing real-time monitoring and identification of security incidents. He/She will help identify suspicious activity, open incident investigation tickets and escalate any key concerns to Level 2/3 for additional analysis & communication.
    Key Responsibilities:

    Work in 24*7 shifts performing real time monitoring of security alerts generated by various security tools deployed by Safaricom
    Serves as a primary point of contact for reporting potential security incidents
    Validate, classify and open tickets for security incidents
    Analyze and assess security alerts and escalate to Level 2/3 analysts for further investigations and communication
    Document security incidents as identified by the case management process
    Provide feedback on enhancing the operations of the cyber security operations Centre
    Respond to generated security alerts within the time window as defined in procedural SLAs
    Pick out potential intrusions from seemingly benign sets of audit logs or security alerts
    Triage (primary investigation) of detected security alerts and make necessary escalation decisions
    Escalation to appropriate teams, follow ups and provide assistance during remediation

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/IT Security/Information Technology
    Minimum of 1 year System Security experience – in Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessments, IDS/Firewalls/VPN administration, Content Filters, Security Scanning tools, Network and Systems Administration.
    Minimum of 1 year focused Security experience in Incident Management/Intrusion Analysis/Reverse Engineering. Knowledge of common SIEM solutions, the purpose of them and an understanding of how they work
    Knowledge of common network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.
    Experience with Microsoft Windows and *NIX operating systems is required.
    Knowledge and/or experience with common security tools such as anti-virus, Intrusion Prevention Systems and Firewalls is an added advantage
    Working knowledge of these technologies or domains will be an added advantage: Cloud Technologies (Cisco UCS, EMC and VMware), CMS (Joomla, WordPress and PHPBB), Apache, PHP, cPanel and ModSecurity.

    Brief Description
    Reporting to the Director – Digital IT, the position holder will provide leadership to all Senior IT professionals and technology related work within Consumer Business and Cluster. Ensuring the Cluster and Project objectives include architectural alignment with the Technology strategy.
    This role also counsels the Business Unit Head(s), Cluster Heads, Tech Tribe Leads and Product Teams on technology standards, governance, roadmap, architecture, devsecops and best practice. Shares ownership of targets with the Business/Cluster Lead and is responsible for the stewardship of IT Platform integrity and mid-term evolution and any other technical assets consumed by the Cluster/Tribes/Squads to enable the roadmap.
    Key Responsibilities

    Enabler of the Business Unit (BU)/Cluster/Tribe vision by leading the technical delivery which is aligned to the strategy, and business objectives;
    Responsibility for supporting the integrity, consistency and compliance with technical standards within the BU/Cluster (e.g. architecture and integration standards);
    Responsibility for facilitating the production of IT assets and maintenance of the mid-term road map for these assets consumed by the BU/Cluster/Tribes;
    Participates in defining the technical solutions of squads, providing knowledge and senior technical guidance;
    Coordinates architecture solutions between teams and facilitates resolution of potential differences between teams and interdependencies between platforms/systems;
    Ensures the technical consistency of solutions in the Business Unit/Cluster with the technical architecture;
    Defines the Business Unit technology roadmap (what is done first and what later);
    Supports the Cluster Lead in the creation of new tribes and defines the technical skills required to optimize delivery team effectiveness (e.g. skilled selection of required members and profiles);
    Participates in the quarterly assessment of Business Goals (KPI);
    Provides assessment of any IT implications with the Business/Cluster Lead;
    Facilitates and empowers teams in achieving high performances in solution delivery, ensuring quality standards are achieved.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
    Ten or more years of experience in IT Delivery, preferably in designing, building and managing large software factories
    Over 7 years of leadership responsibilities in large delivery organizations, managing cross-functional teams and/or organization-wide programs, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively within complex context
    7+ experience in software delivery management
    Project Management and Agile Certifications
    Extensive experience in IT strategic planning, organization design and development
    Extensive experience in establishing agile principles and processes within large engineering organizations
    Solid technical background, with hands-on experience in automated; agile environments delivering infrastructure; monitoring and tooling to high-traffic web applications
    Professional experience and knowledge of digital and Telecommunications industries strongly preferred

    Reporting to the Director; Information Technology, the role holder is responsible for designing architecture at enterprise level to ensure business strategy and technology trends are implemented in Safaricom technology. This role is accountable for the development of technology principles, standards and patterns that are highly reusable across multiple enterprise solutions. The role will also lead design and architecture reviews of significant technology projects. The role holder will collaborate with business and technology teams as well as external stakeholders to set direction to achieve modern, open standard and simple architectures.
    Key Responsibilities:

    Manage target architecture vision and roadmap in alignment with Safaricom strategy.
    Oversee and lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise architecture practices, standards, frameworks and patterns.
    Scout and test new technologies and vendors to enable innovation and identify technical enablers.
    Build, recruit, retain, manage and develop a world-class digital architecture team and organization
    Provide thought leadership on foundational enterprise architecture and IT strategy best practices and disruptive technology trajectory and implications.
    Defines technical development priorities for talent, identifying training needs and opportunities.
    Analyze technology industry and market trends and determine potential impact on business. Recommend technology direction and/or adjustments to incorporate in the business plans.
    Oversees the evaluation and selection of hardware and software product standards.
    Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical blueprint of the team’s services, creating solution options that align IT services with business sponsor’s missions, goals and objectives with consideration of both technical and non-technical implications and trade-offs.
    Oversee implementation of solution architecture by producing blueprints that guide the development and implementation of business solutions across multiple projects, providing direction to technical teams during project delivery and ensuring implementations support technology and business roadmaps.
    Develop and maintain the technology roadmap for assigned area, collaborating with business and IT partners to ensure that the roadmap creates business value with technically sound solutions and seeking out opportunities to apply technical innovations to customer needs.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Master’s or bachelor’s degree in software engineering, or any other related field
    Minimum ten years of experience in systems architecture, solution design and solution implementation.
    Minimum eight years of experience in a project lead role, either managing or advising small to medium project teams.
    Five or more years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis
    Extensive experience in IT strategic planning, organization design and development
    Experience in leading large architecture teams operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts
    Experience in business capability modelling and technical and solution architecture development in a digital business context
    Experience in working in complex IT environment, layered solutions and designs, diverse technical configurations, multiple technologies and processing environments.
