    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Reporting to the Technical Lead, CRM Engineering, the position holder will work in cross functional team composed of architects, software engineers, customer journey experts to develop Customer Relationship Management capabilities used by customer facing users across contact center, retail, and enterprise business. The Application development duties include but not limited to analysis, design, development, testing, documentation of the new and existing functionalities; stress and security validations to ensure integrity of the CRM platform; maintenance and fault management.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Conduct business user requirements elicitation, analysis, and specification.
    Perform the necessary technical design and development functionality to ensure that business application systems can be effectively developed and implemented.

    Design and development of front-end tier(s), middle tier(s), and /or back-end database tier(s) for business applications

    Co-ordinate and Work with various stakeholders directly in delivery of new projects/ business asks.
    Work directly with the Operations/Service Reliability Engineers to resolve issues identified post project implementation.
    Generation of ideas to improve efficiency in software and application services offered to the business, and/or generate revenue for business.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    University Degree in computer science or technical related field
    2 years’ experience in business analysis and software development in a busy IT environment.
    Extensive programming experience using either Java, C#, Python, JavaScript etc.
    At least 2 years development experience with RDMS preferably e.g. Oracle MySQL, Postgres. 
    At least 2 years data management experience across data structures, relational databases preferable Oracle, Postgres or MySQL, Stored Procedures, PL/SQL development. Experience in NoSQL databases is an added advantage.
    Extensive experience in deploying API on containerized environments such Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Azure, AWS.
    Experience with event-based and message-driven distributed system like Apache Kafka, ActiveMQ, Rabbit MQ or Tibco EMS
    Experience in scripting and deploying solutions on Linux based operating systems.
    Experience in Scrum and other Agile processes.
    Working knowledge of DevSecOps tools such as Jira, Git, Jenkins
    Experience in the design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant systems.

This role involves 1st line fault management on core network systems and infrastructure (including MSSs, MGWs, SGSNs, MMEs, GGSNs, PGWs, PCRFs, CSDB, STP, DRA, Cloud Infra, Routers and Switches) as well as other systems hosted in the data center. The individual is expected to handle assigned Incidents, execute planned network changes, manage preventive maintenance tasks for the assigned data centers, support data center project activities to ensure they adhere to required standards, maintain inventory of all data center assets, Monitor and allocate data center resources as per laid down plans and ensure data center resources are optimally utilized.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Fault Management:

    Analyzing the NE logs, carrying out Database Audits, Troubleshooting and solving of arising core network elements faults
    Solving of core network faults assigned through NOC, as well as incidents escalated from customer facing teams
    Providing workable and permanent technical solutions to reduce the downtime and repeat core network failures.
    Ensuring incidences are resolved or escalated to the next level as per SLA.
    Carrying out on site diagnosis and troubleshooting for all systems in the data center.

     Preventive maintenance:

    Schedule and manage Preventive Maintenance tasks as per laid down standards.
    Track and monitor Network and Service KPIs to ensure delivery as per SLAs.
    Continuously improve PM tools and methods to meet required standards.
    Track performance of data center Managed Services Providers.

    Change Management and Projects:

    Making configuration changes on Network elements S/W upgrades.

    Scheduling automated tasks to meet service requirements

    Venture Portfolio Analyst Spark Lead

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Reporting to the Venture Management Tribe Lead, the Venture Portfolio analyst will be responsible for executing Safaricom’s investment strategy by conducting industry research on strategic priority sectors, financial modeling and writing investment recommendations and supporting the Spark and Venture leads undertake their portfolio management responsibilities. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Research and Analysis

    Top-down industry analysis of selected new growth areas including with a view to understand existing  business models, unit economics, industry structure and key gaps and opportunities.
    Conduct structured and analytical research on investment opportunities/target companies.
    Prepare reports to summarize key findings with clear recommendations. 

    Financial Modeling and Preparation of Business Case 

    Conduct financial modeling for key ventures and valuation analysis for target investments.
    Work closely with Finance Business partners to validate financial models and business cases prior to presentation to various executives.

    Deal Flow Management 

    Work closely with venture leads to prepare investment reports, analysis and board papers needed at various cycles of the deal management cycle. 
    Draft term sheets and assist review of legal documents. 
    Support due diligence of selected ventures/investment opportunities.

    Portfolio Support

    Collaborate closely with portfolio leads and Tribe lead to prepare agenda and discussion materials for meetings and calls related to due diligence, industry research, and investment negotiation.

    Performance Monitoring and Reporting

    Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the tribe’s performance and identify areas for improvement. 
    Prepare regular reports and presentations to update senior management on the tribe’s initiatives, outcomes, and challenges.

    Data Analytics

    Utilize data analytics and business intelligence tools to extract insights and identify trends in key strategic initiatives and market conditions. 
    Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to develop predictive models and data-driven strategies for client segmentation, investment recommendations, and risk management.
    Support  data-driven decision-making by working closely with portfolio leads/Tribe lead to present insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
    Ensure data privacy and security measures are implemented and followed in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

    QUALIFICATIONS

To assure Quality and speed of delivery we are seeking a Senior Service Delivery lead who will drive Quality and speed of execution in partnership with Internal and external teams.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Key accountabilities 

    Lead internal and 3rd Party Service delivery Teams in Solutions delivery across all Public Sector Digital Transformation programs. Example: In Digital Healthcare – Lead external Teams in roll out of Hospital Systems across all hospitals in the 47 counties. In Devolution- Lead 3rd Party Contractors In deployment of Integrated County revenue Management system across all the counties on board and includes, connectivity, Training, device configuration etc.
    Manage all processes and daily activities related to Solutions deployments. 
    Proactively identify possible solutions to arising problems during service delivery and escalate to leadership for action.
    Ensure that processes and documentations are in place and to identify process and cost efficiencies where possible.
    Develop comprehensive deployment plan covering integration solution with support from all vendors and Internal teams.
    Lead and co-ordinate solution deployments across multiple sites, executing the plan and readiness checklists in a staged rollout.
    Ensure the Solutions deployment plan and activities are communicated and adequately resourced to support users during the transition.
    Ensure business communications, user and manger training, hardware installation and configuration, user setup and access, data migration are managed in a timely manner in consultation with the business customers.
    Conduct post deployment reviews and evaluate, document, and implement recommendations for improvement.
    Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations.
    Identify, resolve, and manage potential risks and issues related to Solutions delivery.
    Ensure that a detailed deployment plan has been documented along with a backout plan should anything go wrong during deployment.
    Validate that the product has been correctly packaged before deployment and ensure that all release controls have been satisfied.
    Ensures that objectives, KPIs and results reporting is being communicated to stakeholders.
    Engages all stakeholders in continual discovery to determine if launch support activities are effective and optimized – driving continuous improvement.
