    Role of Purpose

    Plainsview Hospital Limited is seeking to employ a Clinical Officer who will be responsible for all the medical care of patients. To perform quality assurance assessments of services within the hospital.

    Reporting to the Team Leader – Clinical Officer, the successful candidates will be responsible for the following amongst others:

    Responsible for all the day-to-day Clinician duties and responsibilities
    Order investigation and interpretation of results for diagnosis and explain the results to the patients and the intended treatment.
    Diagnose and institute appropriate treatment, write prescriptions, and carry out other treatment activities while ensuring that established treatment protocols are effectively followed.
    Ensure that all required observations and vitals, prescribed treatment and procedures are carried out and documented on patients’ charts.
    Create phenomenal patient experiences, including counseling and sensitizing patients through health talks on preventive and promotive health.
    Embrace, learn and develop in an evidence-based medical system in line with Plainsview Hospitals’ protocols.
    Ensure effective clinical procedures, rules, regulations which are consistent with the hospital’s procedures.
    When necessary, arrange for patient referrals or consultations for specialty or higher-level management.
    Participate in outreaches or other activities such as health talks or community programs.
    Handle patient data/ information confidentially at all times.
    Ensure that the clinic environment is safe and complies with infection control standards.
    Actively participate in clinical training programs, including on-job training and skills building.

    Qualifications

    Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from KMTC or any other recognized institution.
    Registered by Kenya Clinical Officers Council.
    Possession of valid practicing license from Clinical Officers Council.
    Minimum three years of clinical experience post internship
    Good communication skills, honest and good interpersonal skills.

    Role of Purpose
    To manage medical cases, both elective and emergencies, ensure quality care with special focus on exceptional customer service and balance financial saving in the Hospital.
    Duties and Responsibilities

    Check policy details and complete a preauthorization claims log.
    Sending approval request to insurance companies after obtaining all necessary initial documents (completed pre-authorization forms, medical reports, estimated length of stay and cost estimate) with coverage recommendations in timely fashion.
    Plan and execute full range of case management actions for all complex, high cost and contested cases for end-to-end case and cost management in liaison with Insurance companies.
    Check if coverage decision is appropriate as per the policy terms & conditions, particularly the full and partial denials.
    Send coverage denials to doctors, members and Insurance companies once coverage decision is received, satisfactorily explaining the full or partial denials along with justifiable & timely answers to any additional queries.
    Following up in a timely manner with doctors for additional medical and cost updates to justify further approval if a limited approval was given.
    Review and coordinate with Insurance companies regarding any inaccurate full or partial denials, obtain and share additional medical information from the treating doctor where necessary and ensure that all cases are 100% accurate as per the policy terms.
    Ensure full adherence to terms of all insurance products, compliance requirements and policies related to privacy of medical information.
    Identify conflicts in patient care and make judgment calls as to the best path forward
    Oversee the implementation of a patient’s medical plan
    Deal with Insurance companies on matters concerning overdue debt follow ups, updated statements,

    Qualifications

    Bachelor Degree in nursing, clinical medicine, medical studies or other related medical field
    Minimum three (3) years’ working experience in an insurance company or hospital facility as a care manager.
    Complied with the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
    Previous experience as a care manager is an added advantage

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Apply all functional computer applications to process daily front office transactions at compliance level standards
    Register all patient’s bio-data accurately
    Beware of the down time and data protection procedure in the event of a system failure
    Verify and confirm credit services that are applicable to corporate employees as per the account entitlement details
    In liaison with the relevant stakeholders, ensure that pre-authorizations are duly completed by the physician and sent to corporations for approval within 24hours
    Ensure accurate billing and data entry of patients
    Ensure patient biometric registration is done
    Assist other patient services staff when the need arises in order to foster overall efficiency of the department and deliver timely patient care
    Answer both internal and external phone inquiries and respond appropriately. Communicate messages promptly and accurately to concerned persons in order to help in the maintenance of smooth organization of patient care
    Re-confirm and update the contact details of patients.

    Qualifications

    Diploma in Front Office Administration, Business Administration or an equivalent qualification
    1 years working in a busy front office preferably in a hospital set-up
    Excellent interpersonal, communication & customer care skills.
    Computer literate
    Dedication and strong willingness to affect change with an understanding of challenges often encountered
    Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively with frequent interruptions, and to work productively in a fast paced, rapidly growing organization
    Must be flexible with changing job requirements as the team grows
    Proven mastery of Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    Role of Purpose
    Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Services department in accordance with the standards, guidelines and regulations that govern Nursing as well as the hospitals policies and as maybe directed by the Medical officer in-charge, to ensure that the highest degree of quality Nursing care is maintained at all times.
    Supervises: Outpatient department, Inpatient department and Quality Assurance Manager
    Reporting to the Director Clinical Services, the successful candidates will be responsible for the following amongst others:
    Duties and Responsibilities.

    Develop, maintain and periodically update: Written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
    Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other patient services to ensure continuity of the patients’ total regimen.
    Perform administrative duties such as completing medical reports, evaluations studies.
    Develop, implement and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
    Develop and implementation a nursing service organization structure.
    Determine the staffing needs of the Nursing Services Department necessary to meet the total nursing needs of the patient.
    Recommend the number and level of nursing personnel to be employed.
    Assist HR in the recruitment and selection of nursing services staff.
    Schedule duty hours and assign sufficient number of nursing staff for each shift to ensure that routine care is provided to meet the daily nursing needs of each patient.
    Delegate to senior nurses the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability to perform their assigned duties.
    Make rounds of the nursing services department to ensure that all nursing staff are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
    Liaise with the Preceptor nurse to plan, conduct and schedule in-service training for nursing students from the School.
    Participate in new employee orientation as required by facility protocol.
    Assessment through Performance Appraisals.
    Review complaints and grievances made or filed by department staff.
    Make rounds with physicians as necessary and review nurse’s notes to ensure that they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided and that they reflect the patient’s response to the care.
    Schedule daily rounds to observe patients and determine if nursing needs are being met.
    Care plan and assessment assist in the scheduling of care plans and assessments to be presented and discussed at each committee meeting as needed.
    Review and revise care plans and assessments as necessary, but at least quarterly.
    Safety and sanitation Assist Infection Control in the development, implementation and revising of written aseptic and isolation techniques.
    Liaise with the Quality Control nurse to ensure that all nursing staff follow established departmental policies and procedures.
    Ensure that all nursing staff participate in and conduct fire safety and disaster preparedness drills in a safe and professional manner.
    Prepare a preventative maintenance program for maintaining the departments’ equipment and supplies in a safe and operable manner.
    Monitor nursing care to ensure all patients are treated fairly, with kindness, dignity and respect.
    Ensure that all nursing staff are knowledgeable of the patients’ rights and responsibilities.
    Review complaints and grievances made by patients, follow up resolution and give a report to the Medical officer in-charge.

    Qualifications

    Diploma in KRCHN and midwifery from a recognized institution.
    Licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
    Possession of valid NCK practicing license.
    Must be in possession of a BLS and ACLS Certificate.
    Fifteen (15) years of experience and at least three (3) in a managerial position.
    Good communication skills, honest and good interpersonal skills.
    Possession of a BSN and certificate in leadership course is an added advantage.
