    Main Responsibilities

    Manage end-to-end recruitment process and deliver outstanding service to NRC hiring managers and candidates
    Develop a recruitment plan together with hiring manager for each recruitment and translate requirements into a solution-based recruitment strategy
    Provide advice and direction to hiring managers, HR staff and candidates about the entire hiring process, build those relationships effectively being a trusted adviser to both NRC staff and candidates
    Thoroughly assess candidates to ensure suitability for the role; evaluate and screen submitted applications, conduct interviews and perform assessment tests
    Ensure effective candidate management through ongoing communications regarding questions, updates and status during the recruitment; ensure candidates are treated with the utmost care throughout their process
    Identify and escalate any potential or actual issues/risks with delivering recruitment services
    Ensure effective sourcing and selection support based on knowledge of NRC programmes and context
    Maintain knowledge of the constantly changing environment of the marketplace relative to the sourcing and recruitment of qualified humanitarian professionals
    Ensure compliance with and adherence to NRC policies, procedures, tools, minimum standards, personal data protection rules and regulations and adhere to service level metrics to enable operational excellence

    Qualifications

    Experience in operating global recruitment including sourcing, competency-based interviews, talent pools, and use of selection techniques
    Certification in psychometric tools, preferably tests from Cut-e, is an asset
    Experience working in an international organization
    Highest level of customer service orientation, strong drive and “can-do attitude”
    Commitment to humanitarian principles and values and ability to convey them
    Fluency in English, both written and verbal
    Fluency in Spanish, both written and verbal
    Understanding of the importance of a strong employer brand in recruitment and ideally experience in employer branding

    Background

    Main Responsibilities

    What you will do

    KEY DELIVERABLES
    Advocacy and Resource Mobilization

    Support inter-agency GBV prevention and response advocacy and resource mobilisation efforts; engage with and present evidence to the regional donor group on the need to fund gender-transformative prevention actions, identify other regional entry points through which to promote GBV prevention and risk mitigation.
    Lead consultations on behalf of global GBV AoR to understand evidence-based approaches to gender-transformative prevention activities that are being used in other regions and their impact; explore how these approaches can be used in humanitarian contexts; consult with frontline GBV service providers in humanitarian contexts to better understand their perceptions and expectations around engagement with men and boys
    Develop a theory of change model that will serve as the foundation for the identification and/or development of a gender-transformative multi-systems approach to engaging and involving men and boys in GBV prevention in humanitarian settings that is accountable to the feminist perspective and women’s rights movement.

    Coordination Participation

    Support country level coordination mechanisms to actively integrate gender-transformative actions throughout their sector response plans that will lead to longer-term prevention outcomes
    Work closely with priority clusters such as Education and Health to integrate gender-transformative activities into their HRPs and other strategic documents to mitigate and prevent acts of violence, promoting increased access to education and better health outcomes among women and girls. For example, engage with education colleagues to integrate social and behavioural change communication frameworks during the development of curriculums, when establishing learning spaces and within school-based forums.  Schools are a widely recognized entry point for changing the violent social norms of children and adolescents.
    Co-lead the “intersectionality” pillar of the Regional GBV Working Group; continue to recruit organizations that represent a broad range of stakeholders such as Men Engage and Promundo; oversee the implementation of the annual work plan among other activities

    Capacity Building

    Conduct and support capacity building activities, that targets specifically GBV coordinators and GBV sub-cluster/working group member organisations with a focus on local and civil society organisations, to ensure adherence to global guidance and ethical standards and country take up of the GBV AoR Coordination Handbook, the GBV AoR Global Minimum Standards, and ensuring country coordinators are aware of other global GBV AoR resources, such as the Helpdesk and Community of Practice. The aim of this capacity building is for GBV coordinators and local partners at national and sub-national level to have strengthened capacity to deliver gender-transformative functions of coordination and minimum deliverables, ultimately leading to an effective, timely and life-saving multi-sectoral  prevention and response strategy
    Communicate global discussions or initiatives on male engagement/involvement and how these can be leveraged by country actors
    Develop, lead or support regional-level inter-agency trainings to address capacity gaps as applicable to the context, including but not limited to conducting mappings of gender-transformative prevention activities, establishing inclusive referral pathways, and developing SOPs around the engagement and involvement of men and boys while still prioritizing the needs of women and girls.
    Strengthen capacity of GBV Sub Cluster or Working Group Coordinators to successfully lead their members in the implementation of gender transformative prevention activities through mentoring and coaching, including in non-emergency times.

    Knowledge Management

    Actively share regional good practices with country level actors, and ensure that global guidance reflects field challenges and good practice, and the take up of global resources at country level.
    Maintain a regional repository of all REGA documents, including mission reports, training tools, HPC documents, tools and examples

    Role and responsibilities
    To provide operational Finance support, budget monitoring, grant management and reporting of donor funds in NRC Kakuma
    Specific responsibilities

    Review coding of transactions and supporting documents to ensure their correctness as per the approved budget codes.
    Ensure, in coordination with the relevant project staff, that project expenses are incurred consistent with grant agreements and budgets.
    Monitor expenditures, planned costs, committed costs and identify cases of budget over-spent and under-spent to provide relevant information and advice to the budget holders for informed management decisions.

    Verify the accuracy, validity, legitimacy of all payments for completeness of financial documents, (purchase requests, work orders, pro forma invoices), proper coding and approval by responsible managers before payments are made. Ensure NRC creditors are paid promptly.
    Ensure weekly and monthly cash counts are made together with an independent senior manager. Work with Finance Assistant to compile cash requests into realistic cash forecast for review by Area Manager/Support Coordinator and Finance Manager by the 10th of every month.
    Review and verify submitted weekly returns from the Finance Assistant to ensure correct coding before submission to the Finance Coordinator by every Monday.
    Prepare and send monthly Cash and Bank reconciliations to Finance Manager Nairobi after review by SC and AM Kakuma.

    Conduct teaching in manner that promotes the social and emotional wellbeing of learners
    Teach all subjects to primary learners (normally slightly over-age) on alternative education programmes (accelerated, catch-up) at primary level with the aim of them returning to normal school to take the KCPE.
    To serve as a model and mentor for inexperienced teacher colleagues.
    To provide on-the-job training, mentor and supervise inexperienced teachers.
    Take the lead in guiding the teaching team on the lesson content while referring to the curricular provided.
    Document the day to day progress which is to be used for the improvement of the program.
    Deliver lessons and organize learning activity sessions in the subject of specialization.
    Together with the Education Officer, prepare the learning scheme of work and required lesson plans
    Keep records of student’ attendance, progress and assessment.
    Prepare and administer continuous assessment tests and internal examinations to assess learners’ progress and knowledge assimilation
    Together the senior ALP teachers submit evaluations, attendance sheets and monthly reports to the Head Teacher and Education Officer.
    Ensure availability of all the necessary teaching aids and materials in liaison with the senior ALP teachers
    Remain up to date on pedagogical methods and ensure a child-friendly environment where each child’s need are identified and addressed.
    Monitor and support each learner and inform students of their progress.
    Maintain good communications with parents concerning the progress of their children.
    Any other duties that may be given by supervisor.

    Qualifications

    Hold P1 Certificate/Education or recognized two-year Diploma.
    Must be registered with TSC
    Have five years of teaching experience in Primary School
    High level of personal integrity, cultural awareness & sensitivity and empathy for children.
    High standard of English methodology including oral skills and teaching English to speakers of other languages.

    Having simple individual counseling and conflict resolution skills
    Keen in ensuring accuracy and precision in all his/her works with attention to detail.

    Job Description
    The purpose of the Project Assistant is to support to the day-to-day implementation of Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) projects in and out of camps. ICLA assistant is responsible for supporting the provision of legal counselling and legal assistance services to refugees and host community.  Assistant will also support the provision of information and outreach services and the roll out of identified technical training opportunities in line with ICLA’s thematic focus areas. In addition, the assistant will also facilitate in the creation and training of representative groups to better allow NRC to engage with the affected populations.
    Responsibilities

    Adherence to NRC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines in relation to provision of information, counseling, legal assistance and referral activities.
    Provision of direct counseling and legal assistance services by ICLA in Kakuma camp complex and coordination with legal aid partners on complementary services.
    Supporting the provision of internal referrals from other ICLA/NRC core competencies for refugees in need of counselling and legal assistance services.
    Preparation of client intake and case management forms for counseling and legal assistance services and ensure confidentiality of client data.  
    Regular liaison with legal partners/legal aid providers on case management for ICLA beneficiaries.
    Preparation of referral forms for referrals to external partners and ICLA Somalia.
    Support the conducting of awareness raising, capacity building and training activities for communities, government officials and NGOs on ICLA thematic areas including housing, land and property rights, Legal & Civil Documentation & Employment Laws
    Prepare and compile weekly, monthly and mid and end term reports.
    Supervise relevant NRC community staff supporting project activities.
    Participate in ICLA continuous assessments, mapping and investigation and supervise data collection during ICLA surveys and assessments
    Assist in the mapping and training of representative groups
    Assist in the identification, development, verification, and dissemination of information via digital means
    Assist in Translation of information to different mediums including leaflets/brochure, bulk messaging/SMS, WhatsApp, short videos/Film
    Assist in facilitating feedback mechanism between refugees/host-community and humanitarian organizations in Kakuma
    Assist in contact verification exercises and beneficiary database management
    Any other tasks as assigned by line manager.  

    Qualifications
    Professional competencies:

    Experience from working as a Project Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
    Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
    Basic understanding of web based application
    Ability to assist in the development of key content and information
    Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
    Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
    Interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
    Proven skills in report writing
    Advanced computer skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    Knowledge of English and knowledge or other UN language is an asset

    Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

    University degree in law (LLB)
    Minimum 3 years’ humanitarian experience with refugees/internally displaced persons (IDPs) at field level with an NGO or other international organization.
    Good understanding of the Kakuma context.
    Experience in reporting, client management, case studies and research.

    Job Description
    At regional office (RO) level the Risk & Compliance (R&C) function has been tasked with supporting regional risk owners in their efforts to manage risks, working with Country Offices (COs) in the region to provide assurance to the regional management team on regional (COs) compliance within high risk areas/issues, promoting a risk management culture in the region through training and communication and contributing to the development of NRC’s R&C frameworks.In the East Africa and Yemen Region, the Risk & Compliance Adviser is expected to work closely with country offices and regional programme & support specialists to identify key areas of programme delivery & reporting that expose NRC to risk and to work with them to design enhanced delivery & support mechanism that can reduce & manage risks over time.
    Job Responsibilities

    Advise and support COs in implementing compliance improvement measures related to high-risk areas/issues (i.e. high tender value committee).      
    Facilitate coordination among COs and the RO to respond to external audits initiated by institutional donors and follow up of audits recommendations.
    Operate a helpdesk function providing timely responses to technical questions from staff in the RO and COs;
    Support the Regional Head of R&C in providing assurance to the Regional Management Group (RMG) on COs’ compliance within high-risk areas/issues by facilitating their identification; conducting regular CO compliance checks on those areas/issues; and following up on recommendations from checks.
    Provide training, guidance, support to risk, and compliance staff in COs on their role and responsibilities and on the implementation of the Risk Management Framework, NRC’s approach to compliance, the Code of Conduct and complaints management;
    Support the development and revision of verification & compliance methods that other functions implement;
    Document lessons learned and best practices in the region’s R&C assurance efforts;
    Operate and maintain the systems to receive process and respond to complaints on NRC’s performance and staff behaviour from internal and external stakeholders in the RO;
    Support the technical supervision of R&C staff in COs by participating in their recruitment and performance management when requested.

    Job Requirements

    a minimum 3 years of experience from working as a manager in compliance, auditing or risk management functions in an international organisation or from working as senior manager in the humanitarian sector;
    Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
    Risk or compliance professional qualification is desirable.
