    Overall purpose of the role: 

    The Economic recovery/Life skills Officer – Digital opportunities project, will report to the economic recovery team leader, h/she will also closely work with the economic recovery and the digital opportunities team. The position will support the digital opportunities trainees in linking them to the aspect livelihoods, offer a wide range life skills training, entrepreneurship training, business plan development and support in livelihoods mentorship.  
    The position is aimed developing the digital opportunities project participants to able to gain skills in negotiation, good communication, developing their CV`s and online profiles, create their own business plans and bid for online jobs successfully. 
    The position holder will work with a team of digital opportunities staffs which include an officer, assistants, digital trainers and a digital opportunities consultant.

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    Project Management and Development: 

    Participate in project planning & implementation including activity, budgeting and procurement/logistics planning 
    Develop and maintain detailed implementation plans to deliver program to agreed timeline and milestones
    Ensure all project activities are implemented on time and in line with the set-out work-plans
    Document lessons learned from training activities, community meeting and assist in preparing training reports
    Participate together with the digital team to prepare/adopt training manuals E.g lifes skills, entrepreneurship, work readiness/skills for work success  
    Establish and Maintain the digital training database.

    Mentorship;

    Lead and manage the mentorship sessions offered to the beneficiaries 
    Coordinate closely with Ajira Kenya and Dadaab collective who provide mentorship to the trainees 
    Support in the review the mentorship curriculum and strategies in place.
    Support acculturation, priority setting, networking, career planning, and counseling related to the individual’s (mentee’s) identified goals toward advancement in their freelancing career.
    Support freelancers in client engagement and contract management strategies
    Watch out for trends on the online platforms and advise the program team on ways to align implementation 

    Monitoring and Reporting

    Monitor the mentorship program 
    Keep accurate records of special events and training activities including meeting/class/training attendance  
    Collect and analyze livelihoods data on a monthly basis
    Participate in periodic field level programme review and planning meetings
    Support with weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual donor/internal reporting

    Experience and technical competencies: 

    Four or more years’ experience working with I/NGOs within humanitarian/development contexts 
    Demonstrable experience in livelihoods programming in a refugee and host community 
    Experience in providing life skills training

    The overall purpose of the role: 

    The overall purpose of the role: Monitoring Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer will conduct field level M&E activities and provide technical support to MEL Lead in ensuring timely and quality learning as well as implementation reporting with a specific focus on peacebuilding, enhancing stability as well as gender and social inclusion engagements. 
    Assist project teams in collecting data against indicators, lead data collection based on data-collection tools and methodologies designed by the MEL team. The MEL Officer will also lead project assessments and project compliance audits in all cross border locations covering the Mandera Triangle region and down to Kiunga/Raskamboni in Lamu. 
    The MEL Officer will collaborate closely with the MEL Lead, Field Research Officer and wider Borderlands Research team and field programme team to ensure compliance with the projects MEL requirements and best practices. The role will also ensure programme data and other protected data is accurately and ethically collected, stored, analysed and shared in strict adherence to the projects data protection policy and MEL Plan

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Support MEL Lead in ensuring that MEL approaches adhere to project Conflict Sensitivity, Do No Harm, and GESI strategies; 
    Work closely with project field team, local organisations, and other actors to conduct MEL activities, including monitoring visits, project assessments, and targeted research;
    Support the establishment of Borderlands/Deris Wanaag MEL systems and reporting structures, including user-friendly templates, to contribute to quarterly reporting and learning products/events;
    Conduct MEL training for downstream partners in response to capacity assessments, including research methods, reporting needs, and other data collection requirements; 
    Review and translate data collection tools into Swahili and Somali, in addition to training enumerators and piloting tools in relevant field locations;

    Contribute to monthly implementation  updates, to share with Area Leads, flagging key achievements, areas of concern, lessons learned, and recommendations for corrective actions;
    Facilitate field-level learning events, collaboratively with the MEL Lead, to capture, document and disseminate lessons learned for internal and external purposes;
    Conducted internal data quality assessments to ensure that all reported observations and indicators are supported by verified data sources, including activity-level monitoring forms, participant lists, and geo-tagged photos;
    Gather, analyse, and report community and stakeholder feedback through the design and management of feedback mechanisms, including complaints hotlines, community forums, and other sources.

    Experience and technical competencies:

    A minimum of 4 years of MREL experience within the peacebuilding, stabilization or development field.  
    Demonstrated field experience in working on conflict resolution, peacebuilding and stability programmes.
    Demonstrated experience in leading GESI related M&E and capacity building.
    Experience in training and supporting local partners to conduct comprehensive M&E.
    Proven technical skills in monitoring, evaluation and experience with both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. 
    Strong background in the use of computers including the use of software applications such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and software such as SPSS and STATA.
    Previous experience with electronic or mobile data collection such as Kobo is a requirement.
    Experience in working in cross border and conflict prone areas. 
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

    Strategic planning:

    Project management:

    Designing, planning & implementation of anti-GBV and other protection activities

    Support the collection of information/data about vulnerability, protection needs and concerns of the targeted population.

    Develop annual DIPs, procurement plans and & ensure timely procurement of sector items, appropriate inventory of all items in the sector & NFIs distributed disaggregated by age gender.
    Ensures proper documentation of all project activities including case studies, human-interest stories, sector operation plans/work plans & reviews, budget trackers and online SharePoint folders.

    Experience and technical competencies

    Overall purpose of the role: 

    The Protection Coordinator has the overall responsibility for providing technical and programmatic support for DRC protection activities in the DRC areas of operations in Kenya. The role will include development and harmonization of protection SOPs, tools, and training to protection staff in the field to ensure DRC has a consistent and clear approach to protection across all sites. The Protection Coordinator will lead in the development and roll out of DRC Kenya´s protection strategy including development of protection related advocacy messages using evidence

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    Protection sectoral technical responsibility 

    Lead protection analysis efforts, the development and implementation of the country level protection strategy. 
    Technically responsible for the overall protection portfolio and ensuring AGDM in protection activities. 
    Oversee and lead the development, harmonisation and rollout of internal protection related tools, Standard Operating Procedures, policies, and guidelines related to DRC’s protection interventions. 

    Technical Line Management 

    Technically supervise protection managers and team leaders and provide technical advice and guidance to protection staff. 
    Responsible for participating in human resource processes including the recruitment of protection sectoral technical staff in country and setting performance objectives and performance appraisals for protection managers and team leaders.  
    Responsible for identifying protection sectoral technical gaps and establishing capacity building plans for protection sectoral staff. 
    Work closely with relevant protection staff in the development and delivery of capacity building efforts.

    Protection programme development, quality assurance and oversight

    Review and update of technical approaches, protection SOPs.

    Lead the revision of tools and SOPs for the current case management system.
    Support program teams to review current referral mechanisms to link beneficiaries, particularly vulnerable individuals and groups, to services, through service mapping, referral workshops, and SOPs;
    Support the development of protection awareness curricula, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials for the implementation of a comprehensive training and awareness package.
    Provide regular technical trainings and capacity building to protection staff, partners, and on key DRC protection concerns and product solutions.
    Coordinate with other sectors to move towards integration of protection programs wherever possible or mainstreaming of protection within other sectors where integration is not available.
    Ensure protection mainstreaming including review of all programming approaches, SOPs and tools, and staff capacity development.
    Organize and facilitate regular Protection team meetings across subsectors and field offices for knowledge sharing, peer support and quality improvement.

    Lead the development of protection advocacy strategies and plans by CBPGs, civil society and local stakeholders

     Project development 

    Contribute to and coordinate the design, implementation and evaluation of Protection related programming to secure follow on or expansion funding for the protection portfolio as per identified needs and in a standardized manner across programmes.
    Lead on proposal design, including activity design and budgeting, along with PMs, where needed. Sign-off on all project proposals and budgets (related to protection activities)
    Perform any other relevant tasks as requested by Line Manager.

    Experience and technical competencies: 

    Significant knowledge of International Human Rights Law, particularly with Refugee Law and of Durable Solutions.
    Minimum 7 years’ experience implementing and developing Protection programs in displacement contexts
    Experience in Protection as well as Child Protection and GBV programming and Case Management
    Experience in data collection and protection and reporting
    Experience in information data management, utilizing databases and platforms.

    Overall purpose of the role: 

    The position holder will lead and be responsible to provide strategic direction and technical assistance on the integration and mainstreaming gender across urban projects. S/he will also work to improve the efficacy and efficiency of DRC gender programming work to increase protection and enhanced inclusion for people affected by conflict and displacement in urban areas and their host communities in the spirit of contributing to social cohesion between the two communities. 
    The Gender Officer will directly and closely work with Project Managers who will technically supervise his/her tasks, provide feedback and ensure the excellent delivery of donor contractual obligations as well as to meet the expectations of relevant project stakeholders while keeping the Area Manager abreast of the cross-cutting support being provided to the area level projects. S/he will also work with the project staff and colleagues in a consultative and collaborative approach to foster good working relationships in an effort to ensure that interventions are sensitive to these dynamics on the ground.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    Lead on the technical development and implementation of all urban projects gender programming components in collaboration with respective managers, teams and partners.
    Identify, establish and foster strong partnerships involved in the refugee and host community gender programme work and aligned to DRC’s urban projects/work to enable greater programmatic impact on gender integration and mainstreaming.
    Monitor and report on the project related gender issues in the DRC urban area program and present solutions and way forward to address such issues to the project managers.

    Document and promote good practices and lessons learned, contributing to a collection of replicable good practices for gender equality programming to influence the wider actors working in the urban refugees. 
    Training and capacity building support for project staff and communities on gender issues. 
    Collaborate with the MEAL team to design and implement gender sensitive data collection tools, support the collection and analysis of sex- and age- disaggregated data, quantitative and qualitative, as well as streamlining the needs assessment, collection and analysis so that it can be more effective in meeting project needs. 
    Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including urban refugee and host community members and leaders, NGOs, UN agencies, and other DRC team members to enhance multi-agency and multi-sectoral cooperation and coordination on response activities.  
    Support in fundraising efforts by contributing in concept notes and proposal in gender framework designs including budgetary requirements elements.
    Support Project Managers in representation when required to do so, budget management and donor reporting aligned to gender component deliverables.

    Experience and technical competencies
