    Project deliverables:

    Engage with CDTD’s staff and conduct an industry review to develop a Protection and Risk Assessment Tool for Shelter Management for CDTD, Staff Confidentiality Policy, and Partnership Agreement for Shelter Management.
    Develop and deliver Protection and Risk Assessment Tool for Shelter Management for CDTD, Staff Confidentiality Policy, and Partnership Agreement for Shelter Management.
    Conduct a Two-day staff training on the developed Protection and Risk Assessment Tool for Shelter Management for CDTD, Staff Policy and Partnership Agreement for Shelter Management
    Document and package the developed documents as per the assignment in an easy-to-read and understood format.

    Duration:

    This assignment is to be delivered within 10 working days after contracting.

    Qualifications and competencies:

    Proven experience in the field of Risk Assessment is a MUST and any other tools/policy of engagement such as; Partnership Contracts, Memorandum of Understanding, Staff Policy, and Code of Conduct documentation within Kenya.
    Experience in developing strategies, tools, or policies for NGOs is an added advantage.
    Minimum of a degree in the relevant field of Social Studies, Law, International Relations, Public Policy, or its equivalent.
    Those with a post-graduate qualification in the relevant field shall have an added advantage.
    Ability to communicate fluently and write in English in a manner that can be understood by executives, management, and program officers.

    Project background:
    Under the National Shelters Network (NSN) program at CDTD, a stakeholders forum has been organised for the 31st of March 2022 from 8am to 5pm, where a hybrid meeting with stakeholders shall be held. The stakeholders; shelters in Kenya, care givers, government institutions, media, National and County government, CSOs and rights based organizations that foster services to Child Labour (CL), Forced Labour(FL), Gender Based Violence (GBV)and Human Trafficking(HT) shall meet at a designated 5-star hotel in Nairobi to be advised.
    This being the week to International Day Right to the Truth Concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims in tribute to Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero who actively engaged in denouncing violations of human rights of most vulnerable in Elsavador. NSN hopes to amplify this legendary voice by championing the plight of victims in this 1st annual conference in Nairobi themed Building Brirges Between Actors and Victims.
    Event Deliverables:

    The main deliverables for this event is to create a memorable experience for the participants by;
    Providing a top-notch public address system.
    Recording using TWO cameras, physical proceedings and disseminate the same live via virtual mode using the social media handles and youtube.
    Providing an alternative public address system to that of the hotel with 2 cordles microphones and two high quality speakers.
    Engaging a well versed Master Of Ceremony (MC) in matters of human rights activism in Kenya.
    To provide a high quality DJ sound and music systems together with an experienced DJ.
    Come up with an innovative concept to make the event memorable and exciting in line with the theme of the event.

    Experience and Competency:

    The Master Of Ceremony shall be a person of high standing in society and well versed in human rights issues and understanding with at least 3years of experience in similar roles with corporate assignments in Kenya.
    The DJ shall have had at least 3years experience in corporate functions entertainment in Kenya.(All songs must be gender sensitive, devoid of vulgar or prejudiced slurs).
    The consultant should showcase or provide verifiable testimonials in similar experiences in recording and disseminating hybrid meetings or forums with high-tech clarity in the various mediums.

    Scope of the event:
    The conference shall be held in Nairobi City at a 5star hotel in a ball room with close to 70 physical attendees and virtual participants through a zoom, youtube and social media handles. The convener of the conference shall cater for the venue cost, meals and refreshments only. The event shall take place from 8am to 5pm with in between breaks as shall be advised during the inception meeting. However, the set up and organization of equipment should be done and ready by 7am before the start of the event complete with successful test runs.
    Requirements:
    The service provider is expected to provide CVs of the DJ and MC, as well as the Technical and Financial proposal (In one PDF document) showcasing their ability to perform the TOR requirements. (Links and videos shall be factored as part of the testimonials).
    Payment and submissions:
    50% payment of service cost shall be done upon presentation of an acceptable technical and financial report and confirmation to contracting after an inception meeting and the balance after the successful outcome of the event.

    Talia Agler Girls’ Shelter (TAGS) was established in January, 2012 by the Centre for Domestic Training and Development (CDTD) to Reach, Rescue, Rehabilitate and Reintegrate trafficked and abused girls. The purpose of TAGS is to complement a broader program of CDTD – Domestic Workers Transformation Program, which seeks to transform the lives of Domestic Workers in Kenya. Working through the 4R’s, TAGS engages with all partners intervening in girl child issues to identify and assist abused and trafficked girls aged 10-24 years drawn from Kenya and the neighboring countries. TAGS ensures that rescued girls’ access direct services appropriate for their recovery and social reintegration/family re-union where possible. TAGS has transformed the lives of more than 700 girls. We have an exciting position for a Shelter Program Officer. The incumbent will be reporting to the CDTD Director. The position’s responsibilities are highlighted below.

    Managing the shelter’s finances, operations and staff
    Take a leading role in network and partnership building through cooperating with the existing and expected partners / stakeholders and running workshops as well as activities
    Support engagement with partners collaborations and partnerships
    Prepare and submit monthly reports
    Support in fundraising and proposal development activities
    Resource mobilization, liaisons and networking
    Keeping track of budgets, cash forecasts, petty cash and other financial issues in consultation with the management
    Controlling costs, and in particular is responsible for ensuring costs of items; utilities and shelter maintenance are kept at the minimum, through involvement in the procurement process.
    Continuously review food preparation and storage systems to ensure better hygiene is maintained in order to ensure residents’ health is not jeopardized
    Ensuring the inventory system is up-to-date and monitor the receipt, issue and recording of all food/non-food items
    Supervising the log of all facilities and equipment maintenance work done on the property
    Inspecting food storage, preparation and related areas to ensure these areas are maintained in proper sanitary conditions
    Ensuring residents’ safety and security, proper maintenance of the shelter and the compound at all times
    Ensuring that the security officers adhere to all standard operating procedures.
    Promoting peaceful co-existence of residents and staff and ensuring all reported incidents are dealt with according to the official rules and regulations
    Devising and implementing shift rotas for staff
    Perform any other duties as may be required from time to time

    Qualifications

    Diploma or degree in social sciences, project management or related field
    Minimum of 1 year experience in development sector
    Excellent writing and communication skills (written and oral)
    Experience in resource mobilization an added advantage
    Demonstrated excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
    Experience of working with government departments and NGOs
    Experience in operational planning and management

    Job Details
    The Finance and Admin Intern will support the Finance Officer in financial and related administrative matters of the Center for Domestic Training and Development and affiliated projects. The Finance and Admin Intern shall at all times act in accordance with CDTD’s policies and their responsibilities will include:-

    Assist with the financial reporting for CDTD and affiliated projects, in a timely, accurate, relevant and informative manner
    Assist in budget formulation and management with the support of the Finance Officer.
    Preparation of bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements
    Assist with maintaining accounts general ledgers;- code, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll etc. using Quick Books
    Assist with audit preparations and liaison with the Finance Officer and Auditors
    Assist in monitoring the office and kitchen supply management and inventory controls
    Assist in procurement processes
    Filing and record keeping of payment and requisition vouchers
    Assist in coordinating office equipment repairs and property maintenance and report in a timely manner
    Reviewing and processing of the requisitions ensuring that they are properly supported and that the relevant templates are used and duly approved.
    Assisting with the processing of monthly statutory payments e.g. PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, Withholding Tax etc.
    Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
    Perform other duties as requested
