    Main purpose for the Head of Engineering position:
    The Head of Engineering will assume full responsibility for all aspects of engineering activities and projects within the organisation. Ensuring that all engineering activities, initiatives and projects are in conformance with the organisation’s established policies and objectives coupled with the clients requirements.
    Key Expectations:

    Effectively manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineering personnel, that is fully responsible for all aspects of engineering activities and projects across the organisation, including but not limited to initial pricing and design for tendering purposes, preparation of detailed designs implementation plans and work schedules upon award and full oversight of site construction
    Provide necessary support to all department in order to secure new business as well as successfully implement projects in hand
    Ensure all projects are in full compliance with both the contractor proposal and the client specifications, with particular emphasis on quality and adherence to work schedule.
    Assume full control of project budget, through the full life cycle of the project

    Preferred qualifications and skills:

    Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
    Minimum 10 years experience within the construction industry
    Experience on working on large projects (high-value)
    Experience with preparation of priced bills of quality, preparation and management of work schedules, preparation of project implementation plans, quality control and budget control.
    Must have project management experience across a diverse range of projects

    Key responsibilities (but not limited too):
    Manage the tender process for all necessary surveys, supervise timely delivery and ensure accuracy of all site surveys, topographic surveys, geotechnical and others.
    Provide survey data to prospective buyers of land as well as provide deed and parcel plans to lawyers.
    Ensure that sellable and developable land is maximized and that a minimum of land is taken for roads and other common areas as well as enforcement of the contractual obligations of the sub-lease and the Master Declaration where they relate to design.
    Take charge of the development guidelines for all precincts; constantly review and update the guidelines, supervise the construction, and take decisive action to ensure the guidelines are implemented.
    Receive and evaluate designs submitted by institutional developers of schools, universities, hospitals and commercial buildings.
    Work with buyers to ensure that their developments enhance the companies brand and have no negative impact on the value of adjoining land, its developments and occupiers.
    Work with the local authorities to assist buyers and their design and construction professionals to obtain necessary approvals, including building permit.
    Work alongside the marketing department to provide technical information to convert into marketing material.
    Key Qualifications (but not limited too):
    Kenyan National Only
    Professional Qualifications in relevant field – essential
    Affiliated to the Royal Institute of British Architects or equivalent thereof would be advantageous
    Planning and Aesthetic Architecture experience – necessary
    Proven track record of managing quality design and experience in emerging markets and infrastructure projects
    Excellent IT skills, especially CAD
