    Job Summary

    Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

    A minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience and proven track record in a Commercial / Development Banking or Financial institution environment with sound knowledge of Structured Trade and Commodity Finance Products.

    Qualification, Knowledge and Skills

    A Masters’ degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Banking, Finance, or Economics with certification in documentary credit or similar qualification;
    Proven track record and experience in documentary credits with ability to process complex trade finance instruments;
    Robust knowledge of the regulatory environment in the Bank’s operating region as it relates to Structured Trade and Commodity Finance Products with excellent knowledge of professional and industry standards;
    Strong acounting and financial analysis skills;
    Results oriented individual with excellent written and communication skills with proven ability to rapidly produce quality reports and ability to work in a multicultural setting;
    Proven organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to build partnerships, work in multinational teams, deliver results and management of client relationships;
    Proficiency in the use of computer programs including MS Office applications;

    Responsibilities

    Main Responsibilities

    Identify and structure suitable transactions/clients and identify suitable counter-parties (collateral managers, trade finance insurers, etc.) and financing partners/agent banks in case of syndication/co-financing;
    Actively support Trade Finance Officers and Analysts with respect to financial analysis and due diligence on all transactions to ensure quality control;
    Prepare and analyse credit proposals for trade/structured trade finance facilities for funding by the bank;
    Establish and maintain strategic relations with clients at senior management level of the Bank’s existing and prospective partners and stakeholders;
    Produce periodic technical and financial progress reports on trade finance facilities under their supervision;
    Seek new business opportunities in the region to ensure a good pipeline of transactions;
    Undertake product development and marketing initiatives and develop client base using contacts, experience and relationship to pursue trade finance opportunities;
    Prepare board papers, ALCO reports, and partake as a member of committees/taskforce;
    Provide support to middle office operations including documentary credit review.

    Job Summary
    Reporting to the General Counsel and Senior Executive, Legal Services Department, this position is responsible for the provision of quality legal services to the Bank through internal legal advice, preparation of legal documents and supervision of legal work to effectively manage the Bank’s legal risks.
    Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

    A minimum of 8 to 10 years of combined relevant experience, including international work experience in a commercial, financial or legal advisory institution and/or public sector financial body (e.g. International law firm, multi-national corporate, bank, insurance company, investment advisory firm, DFI, Ministry of Finance, National Treasury, Sovereign Wealth Fund).

    Qualification, Knowledge and Skills

    A Juris Doctor degree or Master’s degree in Law from an accredited institution.
    Admission to the bar (as an attorney, advocate, barrister or equivalent) in the jurisdiction of qualification.
    Robust background as a banking, finance, and corporate lawyer.
    Experience in cross-border financing will be an added advantage.
    A proven track record leading teams to achieve results.

    Purpose of the job
    This position is responsible for deal sourcing, structuring, and presentation to approval authorities in line with the credit process, facilitation of the legal documentation process and achieving Financial Close of transactions.
    Main Responsibilities

    Source viable transactions through business development activities to onboard new clients and cross-selling to existing clients to generate income for the bank.
    Identify prospective clients (projects, companies, etc.) through cold calling, networking, banks, equity firms, advisory and consultancy firms, or referrals with the purpose of equity raising.
    Undertake business development missions to discuss financing needs and potential partnerships (i.e. financing, Syndication/co-financing).
    Structure financing solution for the Bank to ensure the viability of the transaction and win-win solutions for the Bank and the client.
    Facilitate the legal documentation process with the aim to achieve financial close and disbursement of the facility.
    Review draft facility agreement and related security documents to ensure that the Bank is adequately protected.
    Schedule calls to discuss project information in preparation for NDF to be submitted to the Bank management to obtain in-principle clearance.
    Coordinate the signing of the facility agreement and related security documents as well as the CPs fulfillment through follow-ups with clients, counsels and legal officers.
    Coordinate CP checklist sign-off with the compliance department and the issuance of the COE to the client.
