Reporting to the Sub-Saharan Finance Director you will be an integral part of the Finance function and lead Finance contact for East Africa business, responsible for providing key commercial information to the business and accountable for the integrity and accuracy of the same.
This role will support the Commercial team locally and the management of the business to manage and enhance the margins within the business.
Accountant Job Responsibilities
Performance management, measuring variance to plan / KPI-targets & driving corrective actions.
Interaction with wider finance team to agree targets and pricing and to challenge commercial performance
Driving profit improvement initiatives and interacting with other functions within the business including
Research & Development, Procurement and Regulatory
Validate accuracy, consistency and relevance of business pipeline In SFDC.
Analysis of actuals (VPC) and the financial accuracy & integrity of forecasts (monthly, annually), budgets and strategic planning (5 year plan).
Develop pricing strategies, review of strategic quotes for the sub-region
Accountable for the implementation of mass price increases locally. Drive & support commercial negotiation process through the negotiation planner template
Tracking business wins & losses locally
Investment support (capex / M&A) where required
Enabling commercial & business leadership to drive execution (business partner)
Ensure that all relevant risk components are assessed, mitigated and communicated to BU management and risk management commercial control.

Qualifications for the Accountant Job
Min. 5 years PQE
Recognised accountancy qualification (CPA K & ACCA)
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting, BCOM (Finance and Accounting option), BBA Finance or
Accounting or equivalent.
Experience within a commercial environment
Knowledge of SAP an advantage.
Advanced Excel skills.
Analytical and numerate with a strong attention to detail
Ambition to advance within the organization to a senior commercial role.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships – e.g. RDA, Finance, Procurement and Plant
Competencies Required
