School Head

Job Purpose: RGS is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated educational leader to Head RIS.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the incumbent will work with the institutions leadership team on the formulation and implementation of growth strategies while leading the school’s team of teachers, administrators and support staff in managing its educational and operational objectives.
He/she will also provide effective instructional leadership and build constructive relationships with parents and other education stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide vision, leadership and direction for the school and ensure it is managed to meet its goals and objectives.
Develop, implement and execute strategic marketing plans to attract prospective parents and retain existing ones.
Lead the schools collective effort in raising its profile, standards of attainment and progress.
Coordinate and monitor promotional campaigns while making recommendations on the most effective marketing channels and communications.
Drive all areas of curriculum and instruction by shaping a vision of academic success for each learner.
Monitor and evaluate members of the teaching and non-teaching staff while ensuring they receive support and professional development to reach their highest potential.
Prepare and supervise the preparation of reports, records, lists, and other paperwork appropriate for the effective administration of the school.
Provide leadership in guiding the various co-curricular activities and school based events and external activities including school trips, competitions among others.
Maintain high standards of student behaviour and apply appropriate behaviour modification interventions when required.
Build a strong and cohesive culture supported by effective, consistent systems and structures.
Set targets and goals for school staff through a participative process and develop strategies that will enable them to achieve these objectives.
Continually evaluating existing progress and practices, and curriculum content to ensure they are met satisfactorily.
Participate in the recruitment and evaluation of the school’s academic staff in liaison with the HR Department.
Build effective relationships with parents, education partners and external stakeholders through effective communication to allow for appropriate and timely sharing of information.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and/or Diploma in an Education related degree.
Must have a proven track record in educational leadership including school administration, classroom instruction, lesson plans, student assessment and staff development.
Proven experience with British National Curriculum with at least 5 years as Head of an international school.
Excellent IT, interpersonal and communication skills that enables open communication with parents, teachers and learners.
A self-motivated, energetic person who enjoys working in a busy and dynamic working environment.
The flexibility to learn and adapt to new cultures.
Demonstrates ability to think and act critically, creatively and independently.
