Production Manager Job Responsibilities
Operate the manufacturing departments in compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM).
The principal purpose of the Production Manager is to manage and drive change within the Chemicals units at the plant to improve HSE, Cost, Quality, and Productivity Performance.Assure compliance to all HS&E requirements, regulations, and permits. Continuously improve Plant effectiveness in Safety and
Environmental by providing clear and visible leadership as consistent with the philosophy that every incident is preventable.
Gather and analyze data to measure asset utilization, capacity, cycle times, yield, downtime, raw material efficiency, waste water, waste generation, and utility efficiency.
Optimize process throughput through debottlenecking studies and conduct long term capacity planning in conjunction with the business leaders. Develop capital plans to meet the needs of the businesses.
Lead the continuous improvement effort for all aspects of process performance including yields, downtime, raw material efficiency, waste generation, energy efficiency, and quality.
Develop operating and capital budgets and manage expenditures to achieve the business unit objectives.Participate in the management of the plant as a member of the Factory Manager’s staff.Participate in the management of the business.Provide training, coaching, and development to the production employees.
Evaluating performance of executive staff.Aid in implementing ISO 9001 and ISO14000.
Build an effective team to manage all activities.
Qualifications for the Production Manager
Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills. Commitment to the success of the project and bringing out the best in others.
Familiarity with business equipment and Computer Applications MS Excel; MS PowerPoint; MS Word; MS Office; MS Outlook.Proficient at using problem solving tools, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions and possess strong interpersonal skills.
Strong background with track record of managing turnkey project
Focused and result oriented with excellent analytical ability and innovation
Cogent written and verbal communication skills
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities Fast-paced environment; Work under pressure; Attention to detail; Combination of sitting, standing, walking; Tight deadlines.
Experience implementing change using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods and practices would be a Plus.
Minimum 7 years, including 2 years in continuous processing plant e.g. Sugar factory, Oil & Gas, chemical manufacturing.
