The Operations Manager is responsible for improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the social enterprise.
Operations Manager Job Responsibilities
Lead on planning the scope of work
Contribute to deliverables and objectives set out by the social enterprise
Recruitment and training of new staff
Identify and pursue new business opportunities
Oversee accounting and social enterprise expenses
Manage an Operations Assistant and a team of Brand Activators
Oversee budget expenditure
Coordinate and manage external events and promotions
Manage retailers and wholesalers, nationally and internationally
Manage domestic and international orders
Represent Kipato Unbranded in external engagements and media opportunities.
Requirements for the Operations Manager Job
Applicant must have the right to work in Kenya. We are looking for a self-driven individual who is looking to gain experience and is ready is learn and grow with a fast-paced business that is expanding internationally.
Undergraduate degree (min. 4 year degree) – within the Social Sciences (ideally Business Administration and/or Marketing)
At least 2 years of work experience (could be done during or after university as long as it is relevant)
Experience with operations in the retail sector
Flexibility around working with a start-up and working remotely
Key competencies

Decision-making and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Influencing and leading – the applicant must be self-driven and take initiative

Additional Information
After the 3-month probation period, there is a high potential of a salary increase based on the candidate’s ability to drive success and achieve deliverables in a timely manner. The position includes on-the-job training and external training opportunities.
Starting salary is 30,000KES Net.
We are looking for a minimum of a 1 year contract – renewable. The ideal candidate is able to commit to 2 years.
