Job Description
We are seeking a smart and dedicated self–starter to be an M&E Associate in Western Kenya heading up a large-scale randomized control trial (RCT). Overall, the M&E RCT Associate will be responsible for leading the field execution and managing a large team of data collectors to ensure high-quality data collection and to run preliminary estimate of impact.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Goal–oriented survey design, field-testing of survey instruments, and revision.
Code surveys into electronic data collection system.
Supervise 3–5 M&E supervisors, 30–50 full–time M&E data collectors. This will include the following duties:
Regular mentorship of M&E managers through field visits, meetings, and career reviews.
In–field supervision of key M&E activities, with an eye to “perfect” quality standard.
Supervision of survey training.
In–field follow–up on errors.
Organize and clean all data collected into the field in a clear and transparent manner.
Data analysis to draw both early and final conclusions and actionable recommendations.

Strong work experience overseeing data collection in a rural setting and managing a team of data collectors.
Prior field–based M&E experience is required.
Experience programming of surveys into a tablet-based electronic data collection system.
Experience ensuring high level of data quality.
High level of detail orientation and self-organization. You should be a proactive problem solver and strong communicator. This study is a high priority for the organization and, as such, demands a high level of excellence in execution.
Knowledge of STATA and experience managing, cleaning and analyzing data.

A willingness to commit to living in rural East Africa for at least two years – this is a long–term, career–track role. The ideal candidate will have at least one year demonstrated experience working in the developing world, although this is not a strict requirement.
