The Maintenance Lead is the Progressive Maintenance (PM) systems owner for their line(s) and is ultimately responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses at the lowest cost. The Maintenance Lead is responsible for building capability in Operating Teams and Equipment Owners to deliver overall line results supporting the Compelling Business Needs.
Key Deliverables
Own Maintenance Planning and Scheduling (MP&S) Daily Management System (DMS) for the line(s)
Actively participate in Line Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings and execution of the daily plan. In addition, review and prioritize maintenance notifications within 24 hours of generation
Drive breakthrough results in Planned and Unplanned Downtime, owning breakdown DMS, with root cause analysis done and documented for breakdowns.
Support development of loss-elimination plans.
Develop and update annual maintenance plan for lines in areas of responsibility as well as keeping current Maintenance Technical Documentation
Execute maintenance as per plan to minimize ramp up time and deliver quality product post maintenance whilst ensuring risk assessments are carried out during maintenance and overseeing that safety is observed.
Ensure machine settings are well done to improve product quality, minimise waste and reduce downtime hence increasing productivity.
Ensure the Technical Operators & Technicians have proper and adequate tools & equipment for Maintenance and Production Settings
Authorise Work Orders, Spares requisition and initiate spares order when necessary including required subassemblies
On the floor coaching and technical skills development of equipment owners on loss elimination.
Support the teams in carrying out Initial Problem Solving (IPS) and Unified Problem Solving (UPS) including implementation of agreed solutions
Coordinate with Technical Operators, Technicians, Central Maintenance, Quality Assurance (QA) supervisors, Process Analysts and Line leads to ensure delivery of Customer requirements and address all customer complaints.
Minimum Diploma in mechanical, Electronics or Electrical Engineering, a degree in the mentioned fields will be an added advantage
Proven experience in Integrated Work System (IWS) or World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
5 years working in an FMCG company, 3 of which must have worked as a technician
Good Interpersonal and leadership skills
Intermediate English level
