We were established in 1960 by Dr. Marcus Wallenberg Jr as the Swedish Industry’s Council for Foreign Affairs. In the late 1970s, th… read moree name was changed to the International Council of Swedish Industry (Näringslivets Internationella Råd, NIR) and focus shifted to emerging markets. In 2006 NIR again underwent an additional narrowing of focus and since then we have focussed solely on targeting complex markets with untapped potential for Swedish business.
