Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the responsibilities of the HR officer includes, but are not limited to:
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor and record employee time sheets and leave requests ensuring that leave and staff absence is properly managed without disruption to business.
Performance Management-Accountability for the Performance Management Process that drive a high performance culture.
Maintain a HR information database solution, taking into account joiners, movers, and leavers ensuring effective management and availability of human resources data. Prepare and submit monthly reports / updates on staff headcount, joiners and leavers, expired contracts, alert on contracts expiring and initiate action where necessary.
Maintain and manage employee files and records ensuring that all staff have all statutory documents and all employee files have all the required documents: PIN, NSSF, NHIF etc.
In conjunction with the Operations Manager coordinate staff recruitment and selection process in order to ensure a timely, organized and comprehensive procedure is used for the entry of the staff.
Keep appropriate records of decisions taken at departmental consultations and provide feedback.
Facilitate and ensure proper orientation and induction of new staff is carried out.
Ensure that all staff have signed off job descriptions.
Assist in organization design/change initiatives in line with departmental strategies Facilitate the preparation of job descriptions for new roles, organizational structures are in place & constantly updated.
Assist the Operations Manager to design HR change processes to reflect the NRT strategies.
Champion and enforce labor laws as constituted within the country and NRT’s Policies.
Administration of employee displinary/disputes/grievances procedure Health and safety management. Administration of staff pension scheme
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The applicant must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
A strong drive for results with demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of team; to work with a diversity of stakeholders and communities; and to effectively coordinate, lead and motivate a multidisciplinary staff.
Ability to work effectively in remote areas, in cross-cultural situations, with diverse economic and professional background.
Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Human Resource Management
At least 5 years relevant experience. Membership of relevant professional bodies is a must i.e. IHRM Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office Word, Email, Excel and Power Point.
