About the role
The team works to ensure that all company operations are conducted in a transparent manner that ensures accountability for all company expenditure. This role will add value and improve our operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.  
A typical day for you will include the following
Performing and controlling the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
Determining internal audit scope and develop annual plans
Obtaining, analyzing and evaluating accounting documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts etc
Preparing and presenting reports that reflect audit’s results and document process
Acting as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement
Identifying loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
Maintaining open communication with management and audit committee
Documenting process and preparation of audit findings memorandum
Conducting follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
Continuously engaging for knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards
Skills and qualifications you’ll need  
Educational Background
Must hold a BCOM (Accountancy) degree with at least a Second Class, Upper Division
Must have successfully completed CPA, Part 2
Strong knowledge in Kenya’s and International Auditing Standards or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Required Technical Skills
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports
Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations
Must have a proven working experience as an Internal Auditor for at least two (2) years
Must be computer literate with a firm grip on MS word and excel.
