Overview of the Role:
The eCourse Developer is a new position within the iMlango project being developed by Camara Education. The eCourse Developer contributes to achieving the set iMlango outcomes by designing and creating eCourses for the Camara Learning Academy, an online training platform. The eCourse Developer works closely with the CEL Education Department to ensure the eCourses are inline with the Camara Education Training Policy.
Responsibilities:
Develop digital courses and update existing ones to meet training needs in accordance with Camara Education Training Policy
Work in collaboration with the CEL Education Department on the design and implementation of selected eCourses
Work in collaboration with the iMlango team and Camara Kenya’s Education team
Work in collaboration with the eCourse development team
Key Competencies:
Demonstrated proficiency with some industry standard course authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Moodle, open edX Studio)
Demonstrated experience in instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, Dick & Carey, etc.
Demonstrated experience in e-course creation
Good teaching skills and mastery of the Kenyan National Curriculum
Good teaching experience in Kenyan schools and good understanding of the primary and secondary school contexts.
Passion for ICT integration into the teaching and learning
Strong interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills
Proficiency with Ubuntu and Microsoft computer applications
Fluency in English and Kiswahili
Job requirements:
Holder of Bachelors degree in Education (B.Ed) with a specialization in eLearning Design
At least 5 years’ experience developing digital material and digital courses
Experience working with international NGO and donors
Cross-cultural experience
Commitment to values and ethos of Camara Education
Experience working under limited supervision
Experience working in a team
