Assistant Human Resource Officer

The post holder is expected to provide efficient and effective human resource management support services to assigned departments within approved HR policies and procedures. Oversee the programme’s personnel records which involves management of all staff records; ensuring all records are updated, kept confidential and secure at all times. The position will report to the Human Resources Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support in the management of the Programme’s recruitment (including preparation and distribution of interview materials) and induction processes
Support and track staff probation, ensure end of probation evaluations are undertaken and appropriate recommendations made and actions taken. This will include confirmations, extension of probationary or exits.
Support the contract management process from recruitment, contract changes and separation processes.
Provide support to staff on the performance management processes ensuring all evaluations and appraisals are undertaken as scheduled.
Support the Human Resources Officer in identifying learning and development requirements through the performance management process,
Support with facilitation of training where necessary.
Provide support in ensuring departmental data in the HRMIS relating to records management, leave, payroll, medical and other HR duties are coordinated and executed within expected standards. Ensure completeness & accuracy of HR data input in the HRMIS.
Provide support in staff welfare, staff grievance and disciplinary procedures, basic staff counselling and employee relations matters within assigned departments so as to ensure timely and adequate resolution of any issues
Open and manage personnel files and records and ensure they are continually updated and confidentiality consistently maintained respectively
Provide support in the preparation of HR monthly reports.
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Higher National Diploma in Human Resources Management
Member of IHRM
At least 2 years’ experience in a busy multi-cultural environment with experience in human resources administration activities
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft applications
DESIRABLE:
A Bachelors Degree

Flexibility and willingness to help and take on additional roles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
