Analyst – Finance Information Management

Job Description
Analyse, evaluate, design, test, implement, support and maintain finance systems and train users.
Provide quality, timely and reliable data to finance users in an effective manner to enable the business make informed decisions;
Analyze processes and assist in re-engineering them through provision of automated solutions;
User creation, system interfaces, account mappings and other system administration duties;
Ensure system controls as per group information systems guidelines;
Data analysis support;
Offering tailor made training solutions to finance users;
Stakeholder management; and
Ensure proper business continuity and disaster recovery practises
Assist in coordinating, facilitating and promoting understanding of operational risk and in implementation and management of OR within the Unit.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Documentation and updating of DOIs and Process flows for all Finance Information Systems.
Collecting, consolidating and documenting user requirements and specifications in liaison with Finance Senior Business Analyst.
Raising Change Requests to Chennai ISCI Application support team for implementation.
First level support in IDS and all related gateways and office applications.
First level support for Finance systems and applications including IDS, PSGL, PSFTP, GDAM, EPROC, T&E and PSFCS amongst others.
Assist Finance users in coming up with innovative utilization of I.T. solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of hub and spoke operations and business MIS.
Improve the turnaround time on system errors and issues resolution.
Tracking and coordination of Finance user problems including logging them with Chennai ITSC West.
Formulate test cases and coordinate user testing in liaison with TSS for systems that impact Finance.
Maintain a standard platform for financial systems across Africa.
Ad hoc queries for Finance users.
Ensure Systems Security & Access control in line with SCB Group standards for IDS.
Management of Interfaces between Finance systems and other group systems namely EBBS, OTP, IMEX, OPICS, LOS, ACBS, CARD400,GLEL, PSGL, PSFTP,SCI, ECDD+, SME CDD, PMI, PDW,  FATCA DATAMART, SME IM (CDW), DETICA, CONVEY, FINREP.
Providing finance systems training.
Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) for finance systems.
Monitoring and maintenance of a healthy business environment through strict compliance with Operational Risk Management Assurance Framework (ORMAF) as defined by the Group and Local Regulatory Authorities in relation to Finance systems and applications.
To report unit’s OR issues and losses to UORM
To assist UORM in developing and updating of procedures, controls and monitoring plans for Operational Risk Management
Act as OR coordinator for the section
To adhere to the agreed KCSA plans and approach
To identify and report all exceptions on non compliance with standard controls
To identify and report all weaknesses inherent in the standard controls
To maintain proper record keeping on all KCSA related activities
To maintain independence in the conduct of KCSA i.e., not selecting and reviewing sample of self-performed transactions
Qualifications and Skills
University Degree in a Computer oriented field and at least 5 years hands on experience in a busy IS/IT department within a commercial business environment.
Group I.T. statements of best practice.
In-depth Knowledge of automated operation techniques and products.
Knowledge in Database Administration
Exceptional programming skills using Visual basic, VBA, Access, SQL etc
Basic accounting knowledge with qualifications such as CPA I is an added advantage
An understanding of the Bank’s various accounting and reporting requirements.
Thorough understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
Knowledge of numerous office automation software and products.
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Thorough analytical skills in 4 GL’s and CASE tools
Experience in handling projects
Ability to work independently.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good team working and motivation skills to achieve superior performance
