Africa Regional Director (Energy 4 Impact)

This position of ARD requires an energetic person with experience in partnership building, advocacy and fund-raising. In addition, the ARD is expected to provide overall leadership of the organization, develop and articulate strategies and operational plans.
Key responsibility areas:
Manage and develop relationships with key external stakeholders, building E4I’s reputation and brand
Identify and develop new business opportunities, in conjunction with the E4I London based team
Oversee effective delivery of E4I’s programmes
Build the organisation’s capacity, developing staff, culture and systems to allow effective delivery of the E4I vision and mission
Represent E4I effectively to external stakeholders, explain the importance of our mission, the role of the private sector in developing off-grid markets and how E4I contributes to this development. Be the “face of Energy 4 Impact” in the region
Build relationships with relevant partners, including potential funding partners, and create and develop new business development opportunities aligned with our mission
Manage Africa regional budget and expenditure approvals, sometimes with delegated responsibility to head and departments and country managers.
Manage change processes in all aspects of the organization, and ensure action is taken on necessary organizational development processes for the improvement of operational efficiency.
Candidate requirements:
We are looking for a candidate who possess at least 10 years’ relevant working experience in leadership positions preferably with private sector; has good knowledge of development institutions; understanding of energy access markets or financial inclusion sectors is preferred.
Candidates should have a Business related Master’s degree. We encourage candidates from Sub-Saharan Africa to apply.
