National UNV- Cluster Peace and Cohesion Coordinator
Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator the national UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
Support establishment, coordination and mobilization of Cluster and County peace and cohesion actors towards a coherent approach.
Provide strategic leadership on Peace and Cohesion monitoring, analysis and response on behalf of the NSC and NCIC in the context of elections.
Serve the strategic linkage for NSC and NCIC and programme partners to key actors, County institutions at the County Levels.
Establish and maintain effective collaborations with County Governors, MCAs, County Commissioners, the National police service, and Heads of relevant departments to enhance information management and response on issues of peacebuilding, community Security and social Cohesion.
Create linkages with existing networks and sectors so as to strengthen relevance and effectiveness of peace and cohesion interventions.
Create and sustain linkage and liaison with National and County Governments on matters relating to peace, cohesion and conflict management.
Facilitate convening and documentation of County Peace Forums deliberations and adoptions as well as those of Peace Committees.
Play an advisory role to the Chairperson/Co-Chairpersons of the County Peace and Cohesion Forum.
Support NCIC programmes on hate speech monitoring and management at the county level
Develop and execute the County resource mobilization strategy so as to operationalize County conflict prevention, management and resolution strategies;
Development of work plans (annual, bi-annual, quarterly, monthly);
Facilitate effective and timely communication (both horizontal and vertical) within and across the cluster and with the PBCM Directorate;
Manage administrative, programmatic and financial operations and functions of the County Peace Secretariats in their respective clusters, including maintaining an updated asset register, activity, financial and progress reports;
Contribute to the UNDP oversight and regular monitoring under the programme (including facilitation of joint field missions with donors and relevant partners) to the area of responsibility.
Produce weekly and monthly timely reporting, and in particular immediate alerts on political, social and conflict dynamics in the area of coverage.
Coordinate the affairs of conflict early warning and response hubs, the network of Mediation Support and other response mechanisms to ensure coherence and synergy among actors.
Conduct regular capacity assessment of the peace structures, establishing a database of actors, and training needs.
Provide assistance to local Peace and Cohesion Monitors, Political Monitors, in their respective tasks, including coordination and communication support.
Provide electoral monitoring support to the IEBC, ORPP, the Human Rights Commission and relevant actors within the framework of the UWIANO Platform for Peace.
Support partnerships and collaborations towards enhancing facilitation of joint strategies;
Facilitate regular and systematic monitoring and assessments of Peace Structures towards ensuring their effectiveness and efficiency in undertaking their mandate including managing an up-to-date database on the membership;
Ensure Peace Structures at the county, sub county, ward and village levels are established and constituted as per the laid out policies and guidelines;
Spearhead capacity building initiatives of County peace structures;
Promote understanding and commitment to the volunteer spirit within peace committees and the community.
Develop information, education and communication materials;
Develop mechanisms for community participation and empowerment in peace building, cohesion and small arms control;
Monitor and evaluate implementation of peace building, cohesion and small arms control programmes and projects;
Identify persons/institutions for national peace awards and commemoration of national and international peace events in liaison with stakeholders;
Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor and/or Programme Manager.
Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:
Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark IVD);
Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;
Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

Competencies In-depth knowledge of the political, social and conflict dynamics of the Cluster of choice, including fluency in the local language(s), cultures and traditions. Cluster Coordinators are required to work closely with local interlocutors, traditional and religious leadership.
Proven experience in stakeholder coordination, especially in the contexts of UN and development institutions.

Regional Business Development Manager (RBDM)
Function: The Regional Business Development Manager (RBDM) will provide the strategic and operational business leadership in designing and implementing sustainable, profitable, growth-oriented dairy industry, through the EADD Hub model, in each of the three project sites/countries across the region, with particular focus on Tanzania and Uganda.
The RBDM needs to be able to identify key drivers of change, and orchestrate resources and focus to implement them in achieving desired results.
The RBDM working with the CPM and country business teams, will implement appropriate business interventions within the project, for complete value chain, from farm level, Dairy Interest Groups (DIG), Producer organizations to processor, which will give a fair return to the dairy farmer.
The RBDM will maintain strong working relationships with key actors of the value chain viz. processors, dairy boards, and financial institutions.
S/he will lead day-to-day regional business development project activities, including budget management and work plan monitoring; coordinate EADD II business related project activities across the region; analyze regional market information and disseminate key findings; monitor internal project metrics and share lessons – learned.
Minimum Requirements:
Masters’ in Business Administration or equivalent.
Experience in commercial dairy industry (with sensitivity to small holder dairy farmers), economic development in Africa, or related field preferred.
