    Laboratory Technologist Registered Clinical Officer Health-Records and Information Officer (HRIO) Pharmaceutical Technologist Service Provider/Nurse Registered Clinical Officer – Paediatric Maternity Matron Pharmacist (Doctor)

    We seek to recruit a Laboratory Technologist who is part of the Commercial Services Department and reports to the Centre Manager. The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for all laboratory activities within the Centre. This will include performing routine and complex analytical tests on human body fluids and tissues to provide accurate data to the health care team for optimal diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease states. The Laboratory Technologist may also be required to conduct other activities as assigned by the Centre Manager.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognised institution.
    Valid License from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board
    Minimum of two (2) years post training experience in the same position

    Skills

    Capable of performing tests in all clinical laboratory sections: bacteriology, immunohematology, chemistry, haematology, parasitology, serology and urinalysis
    Fully aware of quality control protocols
    Fully conversant on Infection prevention and control

    The Board seeks to recruit a dynamic, experienced and results-oriented person to the position of Executive Director.

    The Executive Director shall be responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of KRB, implementation of the decisions of the Board and control of all functions and assets of KRB under the statutory supervision of the Board. Under the provisions of the Act, the Executive Director is an ex-officio member of the Board and is its Secretary.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Duties and Responsibilities at this level among others include:

    Formulation and implementation of plans and strategies to achieve KRB mandates in accordance with the Act;
    Financial Modeling – developing financial strategies for the Board, overseeing suitable funding initiatives such as bond programmes, offering advice on investment matters, and detecting financial risks, setting quantum and tenors of borrowings, matching revenue streams with commitments;
    Preparation of business and corporate plans for Board approval;
    Preparation and submission to the Board of consolidated annual work programmes and revenue estimates;
    Preparation of annual budgets and financial reports of KRB Operations and KRB Fund;
    Evaluation and execution of the roadwork programmes and preparation and submission to the Board of monthly financial and operational reports;
    Monitoring and evaluation of approved annual public roads programmes (through technical compliance, performance and financial audits) and submission of regular reports to the Board;
    Supervision of consultants commissioned to carry out activities on behalf of KRB;
    Motivating and managing KRB staff towards achieving the Board’s objectives and building a high performance team culture;
    Compliance with all relevant statutory requirements;
    Any other duties assigned by the Board.

    Mandatory Requirements:

    Degree in Finance, Accounting, Law or Engineering from a university recognised in Kenya;
    Knowledge of the Road Sector and at least ten years’ experience in a relevant field;
    Must have served in a senior management position for a period of at least five years; and
    Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

    Other Requirements:

    Be a Kenyan citizen;
    Professional qualification and membership to a professional body;
    Valid and current practicing certificate issued by a professional body;
    Possession of MBA or advanced degree will be an added advantage;
    Financial expertise, knowledge of Road Financing, Capital Markets, Bonds and Syndicated Loans;
    Proven ability to translate initiatives into achievable action plans;
    Ability to build effective networks and partnerships with stakeholders;
    Outstanding communication and motivation skills;
    Good computer working knowledge;
    Good working knowledge of the Public Sector;

    Terms of Service:

    The Executive Director will serve on contract for a period to be determined by the Board in the instrument of appointment or otherwise in writing. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package, including house allowance, medical benefits, gratuity and other benefits in accordance with State Corporations Advisory Committee and Salaries Remuneration Commission guidelines.

    UNHCR Kenya seeks a consultant to develop a strategy for digital literacy in refugee settings, with consideration of the immediate, medium and long-term needs of the Education sector. The strategy and accompanying pieces of work will be aligned with Government plans and priorities, and with consideration of both high and low tech options including the required inputs: connectivity, infrastructure and equipment, content, capacity development, and sustainability. The strategy will cut across all levels of education and will involve consultations with a broad range of stakeholders including Government, NGO education partners and the private sector

    Accountability (key results that will be achieved)

    Mapping of digital literacy interventions in refugee hosting areas
    Strategy document for digital learning in refugee hosting areas
    At least two trainings or capacity development activities for education stakeholders supporting the dissemination of the strategy
    Paper/ presentation on options for private sector partnerships for improved connectivity and access to digital devices in schools/ learning environments
    Representation in ICT in Education working group or other appropriate forums

    Responsibility (processes and functions undertaken to achieve results)

    Under the supervision of the Education Officer, the Digital Learning Consultant will;

    Undertake a mapping of high and low-tech digital literacy interventions in refugee hosting areas
    Support the development of a strategy on digital learning, anchored in national plans
    Support roll-out of strategy, including training and capacity development for UNHCR and education stakeholders
    Present options for private sector partnerships for improved connectivity and access to digital devices in schools/ learning environments
    Represent UNHCR on the ICT in Education working group, and advocate for refugee inclusion in national programmes.

    Some travel to Kakuma and Dadaab, as well as urban areas hosting refugees (Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa and Eldoret) should be expected.

    Essential Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    University degree in Technology, Education, Refugee Studies or a related field.

    At least 8 years of experience in progressively responsible functions in education (6 years with Advanced University degree)

    *Essential:***

    Demonstrated experience/ background in educational technology and digital inclusion. Experience working with internet connectivity or in a telecommunications setting. Demonstrated experience/ skills in designing effective programmes. Good understanding of the key issues, dynamics and evolution of the education sector in Kenya. Strong inter-personal skills in collaboration and coordination. Strong communications/presentations skills. Demonstrated capacity to work with minimum supervision. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are essential.

    *Desirable:***

    Experience working with Governments, Ministry of Education and other line Ministries. Knowledge and experience of UNHCR policies and standards. Experience and skills in facilitation and designing and delivering trainings.
