    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

    In close consultation with the Evaluation Manager, the Evaluation Consultant will be responsible for the overall management of the Evaluation and timely provision of its outputs, data collection and analysis and report-writing. More specifically: Inception phase of the Evaluation, including:
    preliminary desk review and introductory interviews with project staff;
    draft the reconstructed Theory of Change of the project;
    prepare the evaluation framework;
    develop the desk review and interview protocols;
    draft the survey protocols (if relevant);
    develop and present criteria for country and/or site selection for the evaluation mission;
    plan the evaluation schedule;
    prepare the Inception Report, incorporating comments until approved by the Evaluation Manager Data collection and analysis phase of the Evaluation, including: 
    conduct further desk review and in-depth interviews with project implementing and executing agencies, project partners and project stakeholders;
    (where appropriate and agreed) conduct an evaluation mission(s) to selected countries, visit the project locations, interview project partners and stakeholders, including a good representation of local communities. Ensure independence of the Evaluation and confidentiality of evaluation interviews.
    regularly report back to the Evaluation Manager on progress and inform of any possible problems or issues encountered and; keep the Project/Task Manager informed of the evaluation progress. 

    Qualifications/special skills

    A first level university degree in environmental sciences, international development or other relevant political or social sciences area is required and an advanced degree in the same areas is desirable.
    A minimum of 9 years of technical / evaluation experience is required, preferably including evaluating large, regional or global programmes and using a Theory of Change approach.
    A good/broad understanding of protected areas management, biodiversity and climate finance is desired. Working knowledge of the UN system and specifically the work of UNEP is an added advantage.

    What You’ll Do 

    Experiment Design & Evaluation: Design A/B tests and other experimental frameworks to test hypotheses and evaluate new initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define goals, metrics, and success criteria for experiments. 
    Experiment Prioritization: Develop a systematic approach to prioritize experiments based on business needs, potential impact, resource constraints, and feasibility. Work closely with stakeholders to align experimental priorities with organizational goals. 
     Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyze data generated from experiments. Use statistical techniques to derive meaningful insights and provide actionable recommendations. 
     Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate experiment results and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring findings are understood and utilized in decision-making processes. 
     Implementation & Execution: Oversee the implementation of successful experimental findings. Work closely with teams to ensure the results of experiments are properly executed and translated into real-world applications. 
    Continuous Improvement: Monitor the long-term effects of implemented findings to ensure continuous improvement and refinement of business strategies. Identify areas for optimization and future experiments. 
    Data Visualization & Reporting: Create and maintain dashboards to track the progress of experiments and visualize key findings. Provide regular reports on experimental outcomes and business performance. 
    Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Document the design, methodology, and results of experiments to build a knowledge base for future experiments. Ensure that successful frameworks and findings are shared across teams.

    Desired Candidate Profile 

    Bachelor’s in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or any related quantitative field.
     3-5 years of experience as a Business Intelligence/Data Analyst, with a focus on designing and evaluating experiments. 
    Proven experience in A/B testing, RCTs (Randomized Controlled Trials), and other experimental methodologies. 
    Proficiency in SQL and R or Python for data analysis. 
    Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI (Tableau is preferred). 
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple experiments simultaneously. 
    Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to communicate complex findings to diverse audiences. 
    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage projects across multiple teams.

    Communications and Digital Officer

    Responsibilities:
    Developing and delivering an effective communications strategy (30%)

    Work with the EEI, research consortium and fund management team to develop and drive forward the Communications Strategy.
    Ensure strategic communications support to the global EEI strategy, translation of evidence emerging from the grants and studies into easily accessible and user-friendly forms, and effective dissemination to key targets to ensure maximize influencing impact.
    Lead on the creation and implementation of a social media and website strategy, communications content, press releases, social media and blog content.

    Managing social media channels, website and email (30%)

    Lead the day-to-day management of all social media accounts for the Programme (X, LinkedIn, Facebook).
    Lead on maintaining a social media brand for the WW2 Programme across several platforms throughout the Programme lifetime, including communicating and social grant funding windows and webinars, maximizing mainstream media from results of the grantee projects and wider Programme in years 4-7, and using social media to engage WW2 project stakeholders.
    Lead on managing the What Works 2 website, updating, and editing and uploading key Programme documents to the Knowledge Hub (newsletter; reports; briefs) as required.
    Monitor and manage the What Works 2 email account, including responding to emails and seeking input as appropriate, and monitoring newsletter sign-ups.

    Producing and managing multimedia and communications content (20%)

    Ensure information is presented in an attractive and engaging format that can be shared with the key targets and maintain a record of content produced.
    Work closely with the technical advisors, grant managers and Programme team to visit field sites to identify, collect, capture, and document project activities in the form of case studies, including the collection of photos.
    Gather information to support advocacy initiatives such as related case studies and evidence from the field as requested.
    Support the EEI team compile and finalize regular reports for various audiences and identifying trends or highlights to include.
    Produce staff spotlights and other internal communications outputs as required.
    Provide visibility and briefing material packages for all high-level/external visits, including WW II donors, other delegations, as needed.
    Provide multimedia and communications content for the WW 2 Programme, including development of a Programme branding guide and popularizing materials for activist communities.
    Identify photography opportunities as well as support the hiring of freelance photographers and videographers and orienting them with the principle of informed consent. Manage content collection shoots as needed.
    Ensure that all materials adhere to the WW2 Programme’s branding requirements and are in line with donor requirements where applicable.
    Consult closely with the EEI team, grant managers and technical advisors to support information requests and collect material and draft stories required for donor visibility requirements.
    Maintain a dynamic ‘story list’ to showcase WW2 Programme impact.
    Work with other WW2 pillars on internal communications priorities such as newsletters as requested.
    Provide graphic design and formatting support to ad hoc donor- and external/public- facing Programme documents (e.g., reports, briefs, templates).

    Planning relevant events and logistics (20%)

    Event coordination and planning
    Provide support to planning, coordination and delivery of What Works 2 events (events, campaigns, workshops, webinars, trainings), external events that the programme will have a presence at (conferences, working groups etc both virtual and in person), and Comms focused visits, including donor visits. Where required, organize travel and logistics arrangements.
    Capturing comms impact for donor reporting
    Provide support to the Programme Coordinator on quarterly donor reporting (e.g., compiling digital media metrics, editing, and writing relevant sections of the report).
    Provide support during FCDO Annual Review process and meetings, including case studies, highlighting ‘good news’ stories, and responding to ad-hoc queries from FCDO programme and press teams.

    Reporting:

    The Communications and Digital Officer will report directly to the WW2 Programme Coordinator with dotted line reporting to the EEI Co-Leads who will provide technical supervision.

    Requirements:

    A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, public relations or another related field from an accredited university.
    Willingness and ability to travel regularly
    Knowledge of/experience with graphic design and social media photography, videography
    Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills; adept at writing clean, engaging, jargon-free copy for a range of channels
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues in different teams
    Good organizational and time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines, prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    Fluent written and spoken English required. Knowledge of French or Arabic an added advantage

    Experience:

    A Minimum of 3-6 years of professional experience in a similar role
    Experience / knowledge of developing and implementing communications strategies with an international focus.
    Experience / knowledge of online and other tools for monitoring media coverage and impact
    Excellent IT skills, including Advanced Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint. Strong Excel skills a particular advantage
    Experience working with quantitative and digital metrics data (desirable)
    Experience of using social media for communications and advocacy

    About the Role
    We seek a Global Human Centered Design (HCD) Lead to use HCD methodologies to improve One Acre Fund’s program design, product offerings, marketing and extension. You will report to the Senior Director of R&D and collaborate across multiple teams to integrate HCD into One Acre Fund’s strategy and program design. You will create research methodologies to explore how we can better meet farmer needs, and support in-country teams to implement the research. You will also lead the analysis and synthesis of this data to develop actionable recommendations for improved product catalogs, marketing, SBCC and extension.
    Responsibilities
    Design research tools and train field teams to use them

    You will design research projects drawing from HCD, Participatory Design, Design and Systems Thinking approaches, and a range of methodologies including surveys, interviews, focus groups and design workshops to be implemented by in-country field research teams.
    You will train in-country staff on using these methodologies to –
    Elicit insights on farmer priorities, barriers, needs and aspirations
    Prototype, co-design and validate new products and communications e.g. digital or paper-based decision-support tools, marketing messages, training content
    You will provide guidance and quality assurance support as the teams implement.

    Elicit and apply insights to inform strategy and programming:

    You will define and lead implementation of processes to analyze, synthesize and interpret insights emerging from the research.
    You will translate these insights into actionable recommendations for program design, product / service design, marketing, training and SBCC.
    You will collaborate with country programs to co-design and implement strategy to extend reach and deepen impact for smallholders based on HCD insights.
    Based on the existing internal and external evidence and data, you will make recommendations on additional learning and studies needed across the organization
