Job Purpose: In close collaboration with the Safe Haven Matron, be actively involved in planning, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the Safe shelter activities and takes responsibility and attention to individual client’s concerns in JRS safe spaces/facilities in Kakuma camp, Kenya.
Description of Duties:
To work closely with the JRS Safe Haven Matron and the Supervisor on managing the operation of the Safe Haven
To offer caring presence to the women and children who reside in Safe Haven
To attend weekly Supervisors’ meetings for reporting and communication when requested
To assist in preparing and submitting weekly, monthly, mid-year and annual reports and other reports related to Safe Haven as needed
To keep records and ensure confidentiality of all work carried out in the program including ensuring that admission and discharge forms are collected and filed before a client is admitted or released by referring agencies, maintaining client files and writing daily handover reports
To ensure proper supervision and monitoring of the Safe Haven during night hours and day hours depending on duty
To attend to individual needs of each client and organize group activities
To assist in liaising with referring agencies, following up of the client’s cases, recording and reporting visits of referring agencies to clients
To attend SGBV and other inter-agency meetings as required
To offer caring presence to the women and children who reside in Safe Haven
To collaborate with Safe Haven Matron and the Supervisor on ensuring that clients’ basic needs are met
To assure safety of clients and to immediately report safety violations to security forces and Safe Haven Coordinator
To ensure that clients keep the residence clean and duties are allocated fairly and emphasize maintenance of hygiene among the safe haven residence.
To keep record and ensure confidentiality of all work carried out including writing regular case updates for each client and recording daily handover reports
To assess the medical needs of clients, ensure timely medical attention in cases of medical emergencies and to inform Safe Haven Matron and the Supervisor about any medical issues that should be followed up
In close collaboration with Safe Haven Matron and Supervisor facilitate access to medical care for Safe Haven clients in company of security.
To provide individual and group support to the residents and recommend counselling cases to the Safe Haven counsellor.
To conduct conflict resolution among clients as needed and report when cases are unresolved and need attention of Safe haven coordinator
To carry other duties that as assigned by the Safe Haven Matron and or the Supervisor
To report to work 6.00pm to 7.30 am when on night duty and 8.30am to 5.30pm when on day duty with a break between 1pm – 3pm.
Work on 6 day shift of night and day duty schedule.
To carry out other duties that may be assigned by the Safe Haven Coordinator as requested
To attend relevant trainings and improve capacity in working with vulnerable women and children.

Must have achieved form four certification
Diploma/certificate qualification in a related field e.g. nurse aid, social work, art/play therapy community development, child protection or related field and at least two years practical working experience preferably in a hospital, safe houses, or school

Goal of the position:
The Regional Representative represents COOPI in the coordination and support of all COOPI interventions in the Countries under East and Southern Africa Coordination Office, ensuring that COOPI mission and vision is respected in the Countries’ strategy and in the implementation of the programs’ activities.

The Regional Representative must demonstrate professional and personal skills directly related to his tasks and responsibilities, including technical qualifications, supervisory skills, relevant academic background and demonstrated experience in African countries and in difficult/problematic operating environment.
The Regional Representative will be responsible for overseeing the technical and management expertise present on the field, liaising with the governmental institutions, the donors and other key stakeholders, fulfilling the principal responsibilities as outlined below.
Terms of reference
Strategic Planning
Collaboration with Head Quarters Offices to define the regional strategy and the related operational plans for the Countries under East and Southern Africa Coordination Office;
Continuous monitoring/supervision of implementation of the strategies and the operational plans in the Countries under East and Southern Africa Coordination Office.
Institutional relationships
He/she represents COOPI with the Institutions (local and international) and the donors in the Countries under East and Southern Africa Coordination Office, in collaboration with the Head of missions of each country (if present);
He/she develops and enhance the relationship with Institutions (local and international), donors and international and local NGOs present in the Countries under East and Southern Africa Coordination Office.
Donors Identification
He/she identifies directly, in collaboration with the Head of missions (if presents) and with Head Quarters offices, new donors and partnerships in the geographical area of competence.
Financial management
He/she supports and supervises, in collaboration with the regional administrator, the Head of missions (if present) or the local administrators of the countries under East and Southern Africa Coordination Office, as well as the preparation of the annual budget, analysis of costs, share costs and subsequent revisions;
He/she supervises, in collaboration with the regional administrator, the projects’ and coordination’s financial management in the Countries under East and Southern Africa Coordination Office.
PROJECTS’ PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
In coordination with Head Quarters Offices, he/she collaborates with the Head of missions (if present) in the elaboration of the strategies and annual planning for the submission of projects, and supervises their implementation for the Countries under East and Southern Africa Coordination Office.
