    Job Summary: The USAID Nutrition in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands Within Integrated Resilient Institutions (NAWIRI) program is working to sustainably reduce persistent acute malnutrition in Kenya’s arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs).
    Under NAWIRI, the Field Research Coordinator will plan and supervise the logistics of research and learning field work and supervise data collection teams for the NAWIRI project.
    Within the assigned area of responsibility, the Field Research Coordinator implements the research and learning agenda, coordinates qualitative and quantitative data collection efforts, and ensures effective coordination with local stakeholders.
    The Field Research Coordinator will be the first line of quality control for data.
    The Field Research Coordinator will identify and escalate needs, gaps and issues to RTI leadership and coordinate and prioritize multiple competing demands.
    The Field Research Coordinator will support efforts to assure quality research that results in effective programming, in coordination with Research and Design Lead and Manager.
    There will be two Field Research Coordinators: one based in Turkana county and one based in Samburu county.

    The Agriculture Director will lead the strategy design and implementation of The Nature Conservancy’s agriculture strategy for Africa. S/he will work closely with the TNC Global Sustainable Agriculture Strategy Director based in London and with the Africa Conservation Director and Director of Science to rapidly grow our position with some key partners in the agriculture sector. The Agriculture Director will work with multi-national entities, NGOs, governments and major donors to design systems and create solutions that improve food security over the long term while protecting the critical landscapes where we are invested.
    To respond to increased demand for food and the increasing threat of habitat loss to unplanned intensification of agriculture, the Agriculture Director will spearhead implementing a Sustainable Intensification Strategy for Africa. Objectives of the strategy are to protect critical lands, improve soil health and protect critical water sources. Specially, by 2022, The Nature Conservancy will work in Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia to avoid the conversion of 8.9 million acres of habitat while improving soil health on 2.6 million acres and addressing water management on 1 million acres of crop and grazing lands.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Provide strategic leadership and oversight in fundraising and partnerships to agricultural programs
    Negotiates complex agreements with multilateral and bilateral donors and partnerships within the region
    Develop and implement creative ideas to improve overall agriculture performance in conservation strategies
    Formulate, evaluate, and decide broad organizational policies and long-term Agriculture programs
    Leverage strategic leadership on Africa’s agriculture program partnerships and scaling up.
    Conduct assessment on legal and financial compliance requirements of current and potential programs and partnerships
    Maintain existing donors and work to expand the donor portfolio to support existing and develop program activities
    Use available information and partnership networks to decide on probable outcomes and risks of collaboration and engagements towards sustainable agriculture intensification in the region
    Responsible for financial oversight and supervision on all agriculture interventions and activities across the region
    Provide broad management and leadership responsibility working across a matrix organization (TNC Africa region, Global programs, and partners)
    In collaboration with the Global team and Africa Conservation Director review the agriculture strategy for TNC in Africa and establish annual clear directions objectives for each financial year
    Develops long-term strategies for the region with clear goals and objectives and cascade the same across the Africa teams
    Ensures that program complies with TNC policies and procedures and external (donor/legal) requirements
    Provide high level engagements towards sustainable intensification through communication and personal contacts
    Builds cooperative relationships and collaborates with diverse groups, including landowners, conservation partners, government officials, donors, board members, and the general public, to recruit support for the Conservancy and publicize Conservancy efforts
    Ability to establish excellent working relationships with outside partners, state/local/federal agencies, land managers, private landowners and the academic community; leverages constructive and effective relationships inside and outside the Conservancy
    Work across diverse multi-cultural and environmental geographies susceptible to conflict over land use with the ability to resolve all emerging situations across partnerships and employees
    Lead the communication on agricultural activities across diverse TNC matrix organization to offer leadership and direction across the regional teams in collaboration with the Global agriculture director
    Ability to articulate lessons learned regarding conservation initiative successes and failures
    Provide technical support and training to regional teams and partners on current agricultural trends and practices
    The position may work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances, may require frequent travel domestically and/or internationally

    Qualifications and Experience
    Minimum Qualifications

    BA/BS degree and 12 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience
    Experience working in the agriculture sector in Africa for 10+ years
    Experience working with current development, conservation, agriculture and financial growth trends and practices in Africa. Ideally experience in several countries
    Experience developing and maintaining partnerships with national governments, multi-national corporations, aid agencies and non-governmental organizations to advance the goals of a program
    Experience directing a major program of strategic importance, including management/supervision of multi-disciplinary teams
    Experience and track record in proposal development and fundraising
    Experience designing, implementing, and directing complex or multiple projects of strategic importance, including managing finances, supervising multidisciplinary professionals and coordinating the work of partners while meeting deadlines
    Demonstrated experience influencing, developing and implementing conservation or agriculture policy and plans at the Regional level
    Experience developing practical applications of scientific concepts and technical innovations for conservation purposes
    Experience working with local communities and demonstrated understanding of small-scale agricultural production challenges

    Desired Qualifications

    MS degree and over 12 years’ experience in conservation or agriculture practice or equivalent combination of education and experience
    Multi-lingual and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated
    Experience developing practical applications of scientific concepts and technical innovations for conservation purposes
    Communicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages
    Managing time and diverse activities under deadlines while delivering quality results

    Terms of Appointment
    This is a full-time position with an open-ended contract. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. A pension plan, life and medical insurances are included in the benefits package. The contract will be subject to Kenyan local laws and regulations including taxation.

    Summary of the program
    In the frame of an EU-EIDHR funded project, CESVI is the lead agency of a consortium with local partners, including Legal Resource Foundation (LRF) and Special Education Professionals (SEP).
    The action, Increasing the capacity of Human Rights Defenders for the protection and promotion of children best interest in the Kenyan Juvenile Justice System in the 3 Counties of Nairobi, Kisumu and Kericho, will support Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) and HRD organizations at grassroots level, improving Alternative Care services for children in contact and in conflict with the law, with a special focus on children with special needs in the Juvenile Justice system(JJS). The long-term change envisions a strengthened Alternative Care system and awareness grounded in the best interests and rights of children separated from their families, resulting in courses of action in conformity with the principles of non-discrimination, protection, survival and participation.
    Job Description
    JOB PURPOSE
    The incumbent will work in close collaboration with the Project Coordinator and will support processes of planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting of the project in line with and agreed plan of action and budget, donor, and CESVI policies, requirements and procedures.
    Duties and Responsibilities

    Support to Coordination and Management of Projects Implementation
    Support the Project Coordinator to ensure effective, efficient and timely implementation of project activities at the project sites, namely Nairobi, Kericho and Kisumu counties.
    Support the Project Coordinator to ensure the project is implemented according to the contract signed with the donor (the European Union), its rules and regulations (including, but not limited to, reporting, visibility, project documentation, monitoring and evaluation), CESVI’s internal policies and procedures, and the consortium partner’s MoUs;
    Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and the Logistic Department in procuring goods and services according to CESVI’s and the donor’s procedures, Informing the Project Coordinator any relevant amendments and /or challenges concerning the project which may compromise the observance of contractual bonds and/or the presence and the good name of CESVI in the area/country
    To support the Project Coordinator in development of new project proposals in the area/region, in the field of human rights/child protection/juvenile justice;
    Support in Supervision and Monitoring
    In collaboration with the Project Coordinator, monitor the achievement and progress toward the project objectives and expected outcomes and impacts
    Support the PC in the daily project implementation and follow-up on activities at the field.
    Establishes and maintains relationships at the community level.

    The Terwilliger Centre for Innovation (TCIS) programme in Kenya works to attract investors and catalytic firms to innovate, develop and take up market functions for sustained uptake of the same among the low-income households constructing or improving their homes incrementally. The nature of low-income market segments is expected to be thin and dysfunctional (e.g., very few market actors, exhibiting crowding of non-commercial providers hence ineffective demand or lack of purchasing power from the target communities). Barriers to uptake include perceptions, norms, knowledge and understanding of both the households and the market actors.
    Your role:
    Located in Nairobi Kenya, as a Housing Consumer Behavior Change Specialist,** you will lead the Housing Consumer Behaviour Change work of TCIS in Kenya. This will include identifying and working with partners on multiple strategies to address knowledge, uptake and use of available and emerging housing solutions and products for incremental housing in Kenya. The Program will intersect all the subsystems (current and pipeline) of the TCIS program in Kenya.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Lead overall development of the Housing Consumer Behaviour Change (HCBC) Programme in Kenya,
    Develop and manage relationships with relevant partners and stakeholder to ensure successful execution of the program,
    Identify, co-design and lead relevant housing consumer housing education through appropriate media with relevant market actors to support firms to innovate and adapt their housing service and product offerings to incremental builders and trigger uptake of the same by households,
    Identify, design and execute targeted Human Centred Design (HCD) with relevant partners,
    Support, develop and execute creative print and electronic content towards supporting uptake of adequate housing products and services based on identified gaps and needs for systemic market transformation,
    Apply business analytics to understand adequate housing consumer motivations including but not limited to gathering relevant data as well as identifying trends or identifying areas of need that aren’t currently met and designing appropriate HCBC type interventions,
    Working with the communications team, ensure appropriate footage and coverage of key events that contribute to learning and program visibility including ensuring appropriate branding and communication materials for events and ongoing work in adequate housing for the TCIS program, and Habitat for Humanity in general,
    Develop evidence based technical briefs to guide policy conversations and interventions in as far as requisite consumer behaviour change on adequate housing,
    Working closely with the MEAL Specialist, evaluate the impact of the program on the uptake of adequate housing services and products in Kenya and distil and communicate trends to guide intersecting programs. Lead monitoring and evaluation of the HCBC work and ensure data is periodically captured and analyzed and report on progress and requisite technical and budgetary alignments,
    Facilitate internal learning activities based on feedback from the programs and industry,
    Collaborate with Terwilliger Centre’s regional teams in Asia Pacific and Latin America to share emerging good practices and foster organizational learning,
    Represent Habitat for Humanity and TCIS in industry gatherings and conferences as required.

    Education & Experience:

    Undergraduate degree from an accredited university with a major in behaviour analysis, Market research, Statistics, or Mass Communication.
    3-5 years’ experience in business and market analytics and execution of Consumer programs,
    Experience drafting and executing comprehensive communication plans incorporating a variety of communication tactics to support development objectives,
    Experience writing and managing content for a variety of media including digital and social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.), video scripts and storyboarding and print e.g., case studies, blogs, factsheets/briefings, opinion pieces etc. Knowledge of graphic design and photo/video editing software is an added advantage,
    Experience and knowledge in adaptive management is an added advantage

    GFA Consulting Group is an international consulting firm based in Germany with a partnership arrangement with Sustainet Group Limited (SGL) for the provision services for the project “Soil Protection and Rehabilitation (Prosoil)” in the counties of Bungoma, Kakamega and Siaya in Western Kenya for GIZ, in close cooperation with the County Governments and WRMA. The project aims to improve agricultural production and climate resilience and reduce land degradation through the promotion of conservation agriculture and soil conservation technologies with farmers in the project areas.
    SGL is recruiting a County Project Coordinator for Kakamega County for a period up to end of July 2021, starting 1st June 2020 [1]). The successful candidate will coordinate the implementation of this project in Kakamega County and support the overall project.
    Tasks

    Implementation of soil conservation and rehabilitation measures in close coordination with local, state and private service providers (especially advisory services), local water user groups and other initiatives (group-based approaches);
    Support the county authorities in agriculture and natural resource governance in designing and implementing their soil conservation and rehabilitation goals in exchange with local authorities at local and regional levels;

    Qualifications

    Education: Degree (Higher National Diploma or Bachelor) in a relevant subject (e.g. agriculture, rural development, natural resources management);
    General professional experience: 5 years of professional experience in the agricultural / rural development sector, as well as in advising local (user communities etc.) and / or municipal structures (e.g. technical services);
    Specific professional experience: 2 years of professional experience in advising agricultural authorities and working with the agricultural advisory service;
