    Job Purpose:
    The Finance Director will be based in our Kibera office and will be in charge of oversight and leadership of all financial operations and financial reporting of both Kenya and USA operations. In particular, the Director has oversight of internal control systems and procedures, risk management, organizational and project budgeting. The Director will be responsible for training and mentoring staff on financial policies and procedures, donor regulations, financial systems, and works closely with program staff to ensure compliance with all donor regulations and effective and proactive financial management.
    Key Duties/ Responsibilities:

    Directly oversee all financial and accounting activities.
    Develop, implement, and maintain sound financial management policies, systems, structures, and procedures for Kenya and New York Office and ensuring alignment with donor rules and regulations.
    Responsible for processing statutory and tax returns for both Kenya and USA and ensuring that compliance with laws and regulations for the company’s entities.
    Provide financial management and analysis for all aspects of the company’s operations and programs, ensuring all costs incurred are accounted for and in compliance with local laws, donor regulations and company policies and procedures.
    Develop financial models to support preparation of budget scenarios and alternatives for programs and operations.
    Provide financial control, develop financial reports, and make recommendations to programs and CFO on budget expenditures.
    Ensure financial operations and reporting is in accordance with donor contractual requirements.
    Manage cash flow forecasts and monitor liquidity, including decisions on foreign currency transactions.
    Responsible for statutory, project specific and internal audits and serves as focal point for internal, government and/or donor audits.
    Follow up and implement on a timely basis internal, government and/or donor audit recommendations.
    Serve in the procurement and tender committees
    Maintain updated information regarding grants and contracts, reporting requirements and financial restrictions.
    Assist in program development and proposal preparation as needed by preparing and reviewing budget and budget notes for programs as required.
    Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, associated taxation and compliant timekeeping and associated allocations for all staff.
    Responsible for preparation and circulation of management reports, budgetary control reports, grants reports and board decks.
    Lead and oversee finance staff and other consultants assigned to areas of responsibility.

    Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

    University degree or advanced degree in accounting, finance or related area and fully qualified accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA etc)
    Minimum of 10 years or equivalent experience managing finance, with at least 5 of those 10 years managing finance for donor funded programs.
    US GAAP and IFRS experience is required
    Advanced knowledge of non-profit accounting practices, donor rules and regulations.
    Experience with ERP (the company uses SAP therefore SAP experience is highly desirable)
    Strong budgeting, financial reporting, and organizational experience and skills.
    Strong focus on proactive problem-solving.
    Excellent command of Microsoft Excel; good knowledge of standard office programs
    Experience directly managing and developing the skills of direct reports and other staff.

    Duties and responsibilities at this level include: –

    Advising the county government on physical and land use planning matters that impact the county
    Coordinating preparation of county, urban and rural physical development plans

    Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this position, an officer must:

    Be a registered Physical Planner by the Physical Planners Registration Board;
    Have at least five (5) years post qualification professional experience in physical and land 
    use planning and currently serving in the grade of Principal Physical Planner and above or 
    in a comparable and relevant position in the public service or Private sector
    Have Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Urban and Regional 
    Planning, Urban Planning or Town Planning or equivalent from a University recognized in Kenya;
    Be a corporate member in good standing of Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural 
    Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter)
    have proven administrative ability and professional competence necessary for the effective performance of work at this level;
    Demonstrated managerial and professional competence in work performance and
    exhibited a thorough understanding of national policies, goals, objectives and ability to relate them to the Physical Planning function.
    Demonstrate professional ability, high integrity and competence matched by a proper 
    appreciation of the country’s socio economic development needs at the national, sectorial and focal levels
    A master’s degree in in Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Regional 
    Planning, Town Planning or GIS from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
    Must be proficient in ICT with demonstrable competence in computer aided design and controls

    The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and marketing of CyberRwanda, including managing the product and service workstreams of each product lifecycle.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    Produce work plans for each project site and manage the implementation of all project activities including coordinating the implementation of project activities that will be implemented by executing partners.
    Facilitate the day-to-day operating of the project according to approved work plans and recommendations of AI2, Project Lead, and National PSCs.
    Support the Grants/ Finance officer to ensure financial compliance per the GEF and CI-GEF policies and guidelines.

    Ensure regular and effective communication between the PMU, Country counterpart staff, protected area authorities, PSC, AI2, GEF, and CI.
    Produce communications material and updates for CI and AI2.
    Review deliverables of grantees, consultants, and/or contractors.
    Review the deliverables of partner institutions and grantees, and consultants, including financial reports.
    Responsible for managing some public or private funds, monitoring results, and recommending follow-up action. Reviews for understanding and compliance with donor agreements.
    Perform related duties as assigned.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Willingness to work flexibly from the CI Nairobi office and/or from home.
    Periodic travel to the project site and other office locations.
    Comfortable working out of doors for extended periods.
    Ability and willingness to work outside the normal work schedule to meet project deadlines.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Required

    Bachelor’s Degree or relevant combination of education and experience, and 4 to 6 years of related work experience in project management, including planning and budgeting
