    Responsibilities and Duties

    Collects outstanding payments as per the agreed customer trade terms

    Implement and establish close working relationships with partners (Resellers, Traders and Retailers) in order to gain high levels of trade support and loyalty whilst enhancing understanding of the trading environment. 
    Furnishes management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services. 
    Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily visit reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
    Identifies the key opportunities in Listing and Activations(Incorporating understanding on consumers, category, customer, competition, channel and external environment)
    Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints
    Analyses the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers’ value to the organization

    Qualifications and Desired Skills

    Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Sales and Marketing Qualification or an equivalent;
    2 years Sales background in an FMCG environment
    Good selling, negotiation and communication skills with a proven track record.
    Exceptional sales skills.
    Are driven and a self-starter who delivers results with minimum supervision

    Role Purpose
    The Communications Officer role aims to ensure that LWF’s communications are effective, targeted, and credible. The position will develop and implement strategies to raise LWF’s media profile and the profile of refugees and the host community in Turkana West Sub County.
    He/She will work with relevant LWF sectors to develop strategies and create content to support LWF’s publicity objectives and strengthens LWF’s role as a trusted voice in refugee and host community matters.
    The incumbent will report directly to Area Manager or his/her designate.
    Duties and responsibilities

    Develop and generate compelling digital advocacy contents, stories, and information and knowledge publications
    Design and advice suppliers on branding and information sharing materials
    Lead in the identification of success stories and human-interest stories.
    Coordinate and respond to external communications need.
    Develop and maintain relationships with accredited journalists and media outlets.
    Implement and evaluate LWF’s Communication strategy in consultation with the Senior Management.

     Required Qualifications

    A university degree or associate degree in communications, graphic design, social sciences, journalism, international relations or related field from an accredited/recognized institute./
    A minimum of three years’ experience working with an international nongovernmental organization, media outlets, photojournalism and videography.
    Have a certificate in communication techniques such as Photography, Videography and Graphic Design.
    Experience in online communications, including developing and implementing online strategies/content, social media pages and maintaining websites.
    Must possess a certificate of Good Conduct.
    Actively protect children in every aspect of work and personal life by preventing harm and reporting child abuse.

    Location : Tana River- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Kenya at the time of application
    Job Purpose:
    The project Officer- Health and Nutrition will be responsible for implementing emergency nutrition and WASH response in the context of COVID 19. Specifically, the response will include: Management of Acute Malnutrition and Maternal Infant Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (MIYCN-E); and WASH – Hygiene Promotion, Water Supply and WASH NFIs based on the approved work plan. He/she will also coordinate with the relevant Sub county government(s) teams to implement the emergency response.
    Main duties & Responsibilities:

    Support the Sub county health management team (SCHMT) in implementing the Management of Acute Malnutrition and Maternal Infant Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (MIYCN-E); and WASH – Hygiene Promotion, Water Supply and WASH NFIs based on the approved work plan in the respective Sub County(s).
    Provide technical assistance to SCHMT) in the implementation of Nutrition and WASH actions.
    Support facilities and community units with technical assistance to implement a sustainable, Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) approach during emergency using the MIYCN –E approach.
    Support the Sub- County, facility and Community Capacity building activities on emergency nutrition and WASH actions.
    Support the county to conduct monthly pipeline and order management for facilities and ensure that there are no stock outs of any nutrition commodities
    Facilitate and/or conduct joint health facility supervision visits with sub county nutrition coordinator on inventory management and nutrition service data transcription and reporting practices
    Assist community units conduct demonstrations on food preparation at household level, strategies on diet diversity; also conduct health talks to mother to mother support groups and caregivers of children on basic food safety and WASH
    Implement and monitor progress of approved relevant nutrition sensitive activities contextualized to specific communities
    Prepare progress reports for all activities based on indicators identified in the performance monitoring plan
    Assist Sub County Coordination forum secretariat to organize, document and share key outcomes of these meetings
    Work with Concern staff to provide input to work plans, budgets, and quarterly and annual reports
    In consultation with Health and Nutrition Manager, act as a technical resource for sub county on issues relation to nutrition and respond to requests for technical information and assistance on nutrition and WASH.
    Represent Concern at key meetings at Sub County level, e.g., Sub County steering group, health stakeholder’s forum, any other forums on nutrition and health, as needed.
    Support the manager in report writing
    Provide technical support to the Sub County Health Management Teams on the implementation of the health and nutrition project.
    Assist the program manager to provide technical support to the SCHMT and other stakeholders in the implementation of the project at the community level.
    Work with the Sub County Teams to implement the joint work plans as agreed.
    Provide periodic reports on the health and nutrition project activities at the community level.
    Ensure programme quality control through implementation of monthly and quarterly M&E.

    Responding to Emergencies:

    Participate and contribute as necessary towards Concern’s Emergency response as and when necessary
    Comply with Concern’s health, safety and security guidelines during emergency

    Job Specification:
    Education, Qualifications & Experience Required:

    A Degree in Food Science and Nutrition, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Public health or other Health Sciences or related course.
    At least two (2) years’ experience in implementing projects in a similar role.
    Experience working in implementing emergency nutrition programs.
    Strong written and oral communication, good computing and report writing skills.
    Be able to work independently, as well as in a team.
    Be willing to accept responsibility and to show good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness.
    Fluency in both spoken and written language in English and Kiswahili.
    Computer literacy with good Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and Power Point skills.
    Residency in Tana River will be an added advantage.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Advising the Director General on matters of research and development
    Advising management on all policies and strategies related to marine and fisheries research

    Developing research policies, strategies and programmes related to the specific field;

    Requirements for Appointment/Person Specification
    For appointment to this grade a candidate must have: –

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in any of the following fields: Aquatic or Fisheries Sciences, Biological or Physical Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Environmental studies, Geology, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, Biometrics, Biotechnology; or any other aquatic, fisheries or equivalent from a recognized institution;
    Master’s degree in any of the following fields: Marine or Fisheries Sciences, Biological or Physical Sciences, Sociology, Economics, Biometrics, Environmental Studies; or equivalent from a recognized institution;
    Doctorate Degree in in any of the relevant research disciplines applicable to the institute from a recognized institution;
    At least twelve (12) years’ relevant work experience in Research and Development, five (5) of which must be in management or an equivalent position in the private or public sector;
    Published at least 14 peer-reviewed publications in ISI – indexed journals / book chapters of which at least eight (8) are as first author from the latest date of promotion.
    Led the development of at least three large project proposal that have been funded;
    Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks (cumulative) / Corporate Governance course from a recognized institution.
    Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills;
    Demonstrated outstanding professional, managerial, and leadership competencies as reflected in work performance and results as exhibited thorough the understanding of national goals, policies, and objectives.
