    Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):

    Efficient management of relevant aircraft fleet and its flight crew in accordance with laid down company procedures and regulations
    Evaluate and analyze Flight operations Company procedures against ICAO, KCARS and IOSA recommended procedures for compliance.
    Develop operational procedures and standards to achieve higher minima than regulatory requirements.
    Through regular standardization meetings, Co-ordinate with Fleet Managers, In-flight services, Operations Control and flight ops efficiency and performance in the development, maintenance, and review of flight operations procedures and standards so as to achieve a higher minima than regulatory requirements.
    Coordinate with the Head of Flight Training in reviewing reports on pilot’s performance and determining comprehensiveness and integrity of the training program.
    Coordinate the updating and accuracy of information of fleet notices and all Flight operations AOC documentation.
    Coordinate with the Flight Safety Manager to ensure safety margins during operations are not compromised.
    Liaise with regulatory authorities, original equipment manufacturers and other operationally relevant external entities.
    Discussing operational and personal problems with pilots to improve morale and efficiency.
    Representing the company in advisory capacity during contract negotiations with pilots’ union.
    In conjunction with supply chain negotiating and analyzing all Flight Operations handling contracts.
    Assisting Human resources in recruiting, supervising and appraising flight personnel.
    Ensure corrective and preventative actions identified by quality& safety audits; investigations or other internal reporting mechanisms are undertaken within the agreed time frame.
    Implement routine monitoring for safety, security and quality control activities to ensure ongoing compliance and conformity with all regulatory requirements, organization standards and local procedures.
    Ensure and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment in compliance with the relevant industry, regulatory and legislative requirements, company procedures, regulatory authorities and requirements of customer airlines.
    In conjunction with the Director of Operations, Chief People Officer and the Head of KQ Academy, develop, implement and monitor the training Schedules and programmes in close consultation with the Chief Fleet Instructor, Fleet Managers and Flight Operations managers to ensure that training needs are adequately budgeted for, planned, monitored, delivered and evaluated.
    Analyse and prioritize Fleets training programmes based on the functional needs to ensure they are aligned to the identified need.
    Implement Fleets Training programme to enhance staff performance and ensure compliance with KCAA requirements.
    Supervise the activities of the trainers and examiners to ensure their optimal utilization and output.
    Monitor and evaluate Fleets Training Programmes using questionnaires, discussions with respective controlling officers and LOSA.
    In liaison with Director of Operations, monitor and control functional and Fleets training budget for efficient and effective cost management.
    In consultation with Director of Operations, evaluate the sourcing of external facilities and trainers as and when required to ensure adherence to quality standards and ROI.
    In consultation with Chief Fleet Instructors and Fleet Managers, design and maintain standards for certification in various Flight Operations disciplines to certify competency levels and regulatory requirements.
    In conjunction with Director of Operations, Chief People Officer and Head of Training Education and Development evaluate the impact of Fleets training programmes annually and measure the success of the training programmes, the change in behaviours and improvement in staff performance and avail statistics for planning and budgeting for training.
    Plan, Review and update annual training calendars in close collaboration with the user so as to incorporate programmes within the work schedules.
    Conduct training as listed in the Training Manual and any other training as and when necessary for users to help address specific work issues.
    Develop capacity of trainers to enhance their performance and Career development and to keep up with changing technology.
    In consultation with Director of Operations, Chief People Officer, and Head of KQ Academy Source and maintain with Resource materials for reference and training, including the Training Manual and ensure they are duly updated.
    Ensure business needs and legal statutory minimum requirements are met.
    Ensure training needs are efficiently and effectively delivered.
    Ensure training meets quality management requirements for flight Operations

    Knowledge, Skills and experience:

    Current airline transport pilot license with the appropriate and current ratings for at least one of the aircraft in Kenya Airways operations
    Has acquired not less than 3 years related pilot supervisory experience within Kenya Airways
    Demonstrates to KCAA thorough knowledge with respect to the content of the operations manual, the air operator’s certificate and Operations Specifications, the provision of the regulations and standards necessary to carry out his/her duties and responsibilities to ensure safety.
    At least three (3) years’ experience as Pilot-in-Command in commercial air transport operations.
    Must be rated on the B787.

    Purpose
    The main purpose of this position is to coordinate a team of 4 – 5 people, in cooperation with two Kenyan human rights organisations, to implement the project in several Kenyan counties. KIOS is the lead organisation, and CSO-Network and InformAction are the implementing partners in Kenya. The thematic focuses of the project are Democracy and the Rule of Law, Non-Discrimination and Gender Equality, and Business and Human Rights. The focus is on sub-granting and capacity building of Kenyan CBOs and grassroots civil society groups as they protect and promote human rights. 
    The beneficiaries of the action are the communities that the intended target groups represent. The primary target groups of the action are 

    Grassroots organisations and CBOs in 15 priority counties 
    Community action teams, 
    Citizens-activist journalists, 
    Social Justice Centres, community level activist groups 

    The project includes a strong co-creation emphasis together with the Kenyan organisations, developing an approach of training and funding local human rights groups through the European Union mandate. 
    Main duties and responsibilities 

    Coordinating the whole project in accordance with the project work plan under the guidance of the Steering Committee  
    Participation in the selection of local human rights funding 
    Encouraging a programmatic approach based on synergies and complementarities 
    Human Resource management of around 4-5 employees representing the KIOS Foundation in the Consortium 
    Implementing the quality procedures of the project (i.e., Human Rights Based Approach to programming) 
    Managing part of the sub-grants, and the mentoring of sub-grantees, especially regarding reporting and financial management 
    Planning and organising the Programme Implementation Meetings (PIT) and Monitoring and Evaluation Team meetings and subsequent reporting 
    Liaising with the EU Commission and other stakeholders 
    Reporting to the Steering Committee and KIOS’s ED and finance officer and other stakeholders as well as to the EU Commission 

    Target profile 
    The ideal candidate is familiar with EU project implementation, has work experience in African countries and is familiar with working with grassroots organisations and human rights. 
    Education

    Advanced University level degree in relevant field like Public Administration, Human Rights, Law or Social Sciences 

    Experience

    7 years of professional experience of working in complex and challenging settings 
    Technical background or substantial experience in EU project management preferably in development country settings and development country experience preferably from East Africa. 
    Experience in community-based interventions required 
    Experience in programme planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting is required 
    Previous working experience with Human Rights and funding programmes is an asset, but no a requirement. 

    Skills and knowledge

    Proven ability to develop approaches, mechanisms and training packages 
    Excellent skills in producing technical and analytical reports and text in general 
    Ability to work as a distance team member with good stress management skills 
    Adept at achieving results in diverse teams and in contexts of multiple stakeholders with complex relationships 
    Preferably knowledge of Kenyan civil society, especially youth, women and LGBTIQ-led organisations

    Purpose
    Wildlife Clubs of Kenya (WCK) is seeking a competent consultancy firm to carry out rationalization and salary reviews in view of the changing economic environment.
    Due to the emerging business opportunities and environment, the organization aims to reorganize and reposition itself in the market, strengthen its meritocracy and accountability as well as transform its operational parameters into one that is results oriented.
    Scope of the consultancy 
    The key objectives of the consultant will be to: 

    To review the organisation structure in view of the ever changing future direction and in the current socio-economic environment
    Prepare an inception report
    Re-align the current structure to the emerging business opportunities and environment
    Develop criteria for a new salary structure
    Re-align the current salary structure for sustainability, a motivated workforce and improved productivity
    Prepare the final report and present to management and the governing council.

    Deliverables

    Leverage carbon markets to fund mitigation projects such as carbon sequestration, the accelerated decommissioning of fossil fuel projects and renewable investments, particularly in lower- and middle-income economies
    Understand, identify, and advance opportunities to secure climate finance, for example through the Green Climate and Climate Investment Funds, the issuance of climate bonds or through innovative instruments such as debt for climate swaps
    In partnership with our investment team, develop and package a pipeline of climate projects and then engage with potential funders and markets to secure finance
    Enter into effective partnerships and coalitions with countries and institutions in areas of mutual interest such as integrating carbon markets, supporting coalitions of rainforest states, or helping implement commitments from companies and higher income countries make climate investments in lower income countries

    This is a senior role within TBI and will be held by an exceptional candidate with deep and extensive experience in government advisory, carbon markets, climate finance and engagement at senior political levels of government.
    Key responsibilities will include:
    Offer development and thought leadership

    Lead the development and evolution of TBI’s Carbon Markets and Climate Finance offer which defines our approach to supporting countries to better understand and capitalise on the opportunities presented by advances in Carbon Markets and Climate Finance
    Identify opportunities for our partner Governments enter into effective coalitions with other Governments to advance mutual climate finance / carbon market objectives such as catalysing carbon markets

    Technical leadership and expert support

    Be TBI advisory’s focal person on Carbon Markets and Climate Finance
    Generate cohesion across our Carbon Markets and Climate Finance advisory work, capture lessons learned, and develop best practices to inform future efforts, working closely with the other Global Client Solutions experts and sectoral leads
    Provide hands-on technical input and thought partnership to country teams in the scoping, design, and delivery of their support to Carbon Markets and Climate Finance, generating creative solutions, and framing them in a compelling way
    Support country directors and teams to understand Carbon Markets and Climate Finance opportunities and incorporate into TBI country strategies in response to government demand
