    DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Under the supervision of Project Superintendent & Foreman, Tree Service Technician are part of the larger field of grounds maintenance responsible for tree trimming and pruning, which may be made necessary by several factors. Trees may need to be removed because of disease or environmental factors, such as proximity of power lines or housing units, storm damage, or simple aesthetics. These specialists may also be called in to remove trees that have blocked roadways, sidewalks, or other areas.
    Trees Service Technician are generally trained on the job, rather than having any formal schooling in tree maintenance. They employ sophisticated methods for scaling trees to remove part or all of plants that have been determined to be unnecessary. Using chainsaws, they work carefully, using all technologies available to accomplish their goals in a safe and professional manner. In some instances, tree service technicians may use truck mounted lifts to reach targeted limbs.

    Operates chain saw to fell, de limb, and buck trees at the logging site and loading area.
    Assess site, terrain, and weather conditions before felling trees.
    Maintain and repair chainsaws and other equipment, cleaning, oiling, and greasing equipment, and sharpening equipment properly.
    Saw back-cuts, leaving sufficient sound wood to control direction of fall.
    Stop saw engines pull cutting bars from cuts and run to safety as tree falls.
    Trim off the tops and limbs of trees, using chainsaws, DE limbers, or axes.
    Clear brush work areas and escape routes and cut saplings and other trees from direction of falls, using chainsaw.
    Appraise trees for certain characteristic, such as twist, rot, and heavy limbs growth, and gauge amount and direction of lean, to determine how to control the direction of a tree’s fall with the least damage.
    Control the direction of a tree’s fall by scoring cutting lines with axes, sawing undercuts along scored lines with chainsaws, knocking slabs form cuts with single-bit axes, and driving wedges.
    Select trees to be cut down, assessing factors such as site and weather conditions before beginning work.
    Determine position, direction, and depth of cuts to be made, and placement of wedges or jacks.
    Insert jacks or drive wedges behind saws to prevent binding of saws and to start trees falling.
    Measure felled trees and cut them into specified log lengths, using chainsaws and axes.
    Assess logs after cutting to ensure that the quality and length are correct.
    Tag unsafe trees with high-visibility ribbons.
    Place supporting limbs or poles under felled trees to avoid splitting undersides, and to prevent logs from rolling.
    Secure steel cables or chains to logs for dragging by tractors or for pulling by cable yarding systems.
    Work as a member of a team, rotating between chain saw operation and skidder operation.
    Load logs or wood onto trucks, trailers, or railroad cars, by hand or using loaders or winches.
    Performs other duties as required.

     BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

     Must speak, read, and understand the English Language Fluently.

     Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.

     Wear the applicable P.P.E. at all times.

     Must have a valid Professional Driver’s License.

     Must be able to work outdoors in the tropics.

    DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Handles and secures mooring and towing lines during berthing/unberthing of craft.
    Helps passengers in boarding and disembarking from ship’s gangways and ensure that the boat captain is informed/advised of any situation/incidents accordingly.
    Provides medical first aid assistance and renders CPR to passengers experiencing health or physical difficulties/injuries until the rescue or assistance arrives.
    Performs assigned scheduled (PMS) maintenance requirements on boat and onboard equipment, IAW Navy’s 3-M System.
    Participates in dock and sea trials of crew boats after repair/maintenance, ensuring boats are safe, operational and seaworthiness.
    Participates in oil spill containment and recovery, and line handling services during mooring/unmooring of ships, to and from piers, as required.
    Maintains awareness to all safety requirements and keeps the boat and all boat compartments/cabin/bilges clean, always including work areas in good housekeeping.
    In the event the boat captain is physically incapacitated to perform his duties, incumbent operates the radio communication system and maintains constant communication to Port Control Tower reporting and receiving information/instructions, handles the boat safely and in seaworthy manner until the rescue or assistance arrives.
    Performs other duties as required to support contract requirements of A-06.

     BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    Must complete the On-the-job Training (OJT) for Crew boat Deckhands, including oil spill training.

    Provides input to identify key success factors for the Pipefitting crew.
    Provides leadership to cause the creation of organizational structure and processes required to fully execute the requirements of services and is responsible for the execution of Pipefitting services, quality, subcontractor performance, and construction cost.
    Evaluates Pipefitting service execution for compliance to contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality, advising the project team of status, issues, impacts, risk, and cost influence factors on the to-go scope.

    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Director, Program Operations, Senior Specialist – Basic Services (WASH, Waste Management and Energy) is responsible for leading the design, implementation and monitoring of WASH infrastructure interventions, waste management and energy-related interventions related to household use in Africa. The purpose of the position is to support the improvement of access to sustainable WASH, waste management and energy services and over all wellbeing of communities. In carrying out the work, this basic services professional interacts with other regional/national/headquarters staff, partner organizations and contracted subject matter experts (SMEs).

    Essential Duties

    Lead basic services (WASH, waste management and energy) business development in the region.
    Conduct technical assessments and data analysis of WASH services.
    Plan and organize capacity building programs for community water management, water quality surveillance and response planning, sanitation and hygiene promotion.
    Support the design and implementation of basic services (WASH, waste management and energy) infrastructure related activities within the region and other Habitat networks.
    Ensure program efficiency and delivery in particular referring to cost effective and innovative solutions to accelerate trend of access with analysis of potential and sector environment.
    Develop Bill of Quantities, and tender documents when necessary.
    Prepare and launch tender bidding procedure for contractor(s) when necessary.
    Supervise the engineering works related to WASH projects in the region.
    Inspect and certify all WASH, waste management and energy infrastructure before contractors are paid, when necessary.
    Provide technical expertise related to the planned WASH infrastructure works carried out by projects.
    Ensure that expenditures and budgets are well-monitored and activities are implemented and completed within budget and on schedule.
    Ensure that all basic services infrastructure is within the acceptable sector and country standards.
    Ensure critical gaps in information, knowledge and understanding relating to water supply, water safety, water resource management and sanitation and hygiene promotion are recognized and addressed by stakeholders in the Habitat programs and partners.
    Draw a capacity building plan and build capacity of Habitat staff on basic services projects.
    Develop technical resources (e.g. strategic framework, standard operating procedures, manuals) to guide basic services Infrastructure interventions, drawing from international best practices, along with field specific observations.
    Develop clear infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g. checklists).
    Participate and represent HFHI in regional basic services sector meetings.
    Support Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team to conduct project monitoring and evaluation of basic services projects.
    Support the resource development team in resource mobilization.
    Document and manage the resources generated from basic services projects monitoring and evaluation for improving future program quality.
    Support National offices to write basic services reports and submit to the donors.

    Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in civil, Mechanical engineering or Geological Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred. Candidates with a background in business administration with equivalent WASH experience in the field may also apply.
    Clear understanding of WASH-waste management-energy nexus.
    8+ years’ experience in basic services infrastructure projects (tender procedure, design, planning, implementation, budgeting, reporting, evaluation, and monitoring) and good understanding of current WASH sector trends and indicators.
    Strong project management background with the ability to implement projects within budget and time frame.
    Clearly understand development and disaster WASH contexts and must have some years of experience working in both contexts.
    Experience working with multiple donors and understand donor requirements and how to meet them.
    Adult training skills, as well as capacity building, facilitation and presentation skills.
    Report and grant writing skills.
    Fluent in English (oral and written). Ability to speak and write French is an added advantage.

    Performs shipboard welding services/processes for the repair and maintenance of piping system, machinery, structural system and other related work on Military Sealift Command vessels and prepositioned ships in DGAR that are either leased to the US Government or owned by the United States Government.

    Joins metal parts using electric arc, oxy-acetylene or other gaseous welding or brazing equipment & machinery according to blueprints and welding process specifications.
    Performs cutting and burning, pre-heats or anneal metals using flame torches.
    Welds in all position various types of metals and alloys including, but not limited to high-tensile steel, CU-NI alloys, and aluminum, in various shapes and sizes using manual, semi-automatic arc or gas welding methods (MIG or TIG) or combination of both.
    Identifies metal characteristics, ascertain applicable electrode or fillers and appropriate welding process for each job.
    Cuts, bevel, and gauges ferrous and non-ferrous metals using manual, semi-automatic arc and gas flame equipment.
    Lays-out, fabricates and fit pipes or metal plates during repair or fabrication, using blueprints and applicable drawings as work guide.

    Responsible for the safe operation of equipment, always maintains awareness of job safety requirements and keeps all work areas clean & in good housekeeping. Works in the environment of shipboard hazards and operating machinery.
    Part of Riding Gang onboard ships deployed away from DGAR on an as needed basis to continue maintenance requirements began while anchored in the lagoon.
    Performs other duties as assigned.
    Personnel are required to work for an additional two (2) hours every regular working day as an expected requirement delineated under Spec Item 3.4.2 of A-06 Contract.

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mission Security Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of safety and security for our staff during field missions.

    Duties and Responsibilities

     Perform and maintain venue assessments for frequently visited and new locations.
     Establish and maintain contact with security points of contact at these locations.
     Keep updated knowledge of access procedures for all regular venues.
     Provide training to Host Country National (HCN) Security Personnel as needed.
     Handle tactical planning for staff field missions, ensuring 360-degree protection.
     Offer guidance to drivers on route planning and emergency response during travel.
     Constantly monitor surroundings to maintain situational awareness.
     Ensure safety and security of external venues and meeting locations.
     Oversee staff location and ensure their safety during close protection duties.
     Keep in constant communication with the operations room during field deployment.
     Plan and be aware of safe room/area drills for emergency situations.
     Ready to rapidly extract staff from any location in case of hostile incidents.
     Conduct briefings and emergency instructions during vehicle movements.
     Implement and oversee Journey Management Plans.

    Minimum Requirements and Competencies

     Proficiency in English with SIA Level S4 capability.
     Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
     A minimum of 5 years in police, security, or military roles in an international setting.
     Possession of a current SIA Frontline Close Protection License (UK), CPP certification (US), or an equivalent.
     At least 1 year in supervisory/managerial roles.
     Minimum 3 years of experience in liaising with international and governmental organizations.
     Trained or qualified to drive VR7 or equivalent armored vehicles.
     FPOS-1 medical certification or equivalent.
     Strong analytical and administrative abilities.
     Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
     Excellent planning and organizational skills.
     Valid Police clearance certificate.

    DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Implement QC Program and perform on-site QC functions to assure quality work.
    Perform QC reviews and compilation of all project documents such as test reports, certifications, and other documentations.
    Interfaces with disciplines to steward resolution of technical issues and non-compliant work.
    Prepare punch lists and ensure corrective action plans are completed within the agreed time frame.
    Prepare and issue QC inspection status report and maintain non-conformance log.
    Be physically present during testing, certifications, and other witness points.
    Performs project material verification and prepares associated documents.
    Plan, coordinate, and lead QC meetings, mock-ups, and other QC related activities.
    Report quality issues to Quality Manager, Project Manager and Construction Superintendent promptly including regular updates for reporting requirements.
    Familiar with EM-385-1-1 and has experience in hazard identification and safety compliance.

    Basic terms of the job offer

    Assignment Duration: 12 months. Renewal subject to performance.
    Base Monthly Salary: 48 hours per week minimum work requirement: $1062.00 (based on 48 hr. work weekly requirement)
    Working schedule: 48 hours per week (8 hours per day/6 days a week)
    Payroll period: Monthly. Amount given as take home.
    Overtime: Work more than 8 hours per day or work performed on a rest day and/or holiday, will be paid as overtime at the base salary rate.

    Provides means for security, cleanliness, receipt, issue, and pest control of the dry provisions warehouse(s), cold storage warehouse(s), and the chill storage warehouse(s) to ensure it meets the minimum standards established in NAVSUP P-486.
    Completes inventory validity worksheet for 40-line items validity checks (20 dries, 10 frozen, 10 chills) when required or at least monthly.
    Prepares rough and smooth inventories.
    Smooth inventory sheets as the last of each accounting period using NAVSUP Form 1059, Food Item Report/Master Code List.
    Enter last receipt prices, extend the values, total each page, and recap the total.
    Makes inventory adjustments when necessary.
    Posts gains, losses, transfers, and consumed items to NAVSUP Form 335, Subsistence Ledger.
    Performs various checks and balances to control inventories by using spot, breakout, and storeroom accurately.
    Records receipts and expenditures, NAVSUP Form 367.
    Computes subsistence endurance-based by using prescribed endurance levels (75 days) basic endurance levels (45 days), operating levels (30 days), ordering and shipping times (21 days) to establish high and low subsistence levels.
    Receipts all items of subsistence received as to quantity and quality.
    Checks all fresh and vegetable spoilage, dairy products for date of pack and expiration, and dry goods for signs of infestation.
    Remove, isolate, or put on medical hold any obvious or suspected spoilage or damaged food items.
    Must be able to work in extremely cold temperatures (- 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below) and stand for long periods.
    Practices FIFO (First In – First Out) procedures.
    Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter, and trash in all working facilities, areas, and grounds.
