    OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE  

    We are seeking a short-term hire for a highly motivated and results-oriented Full stack software developer to join our team at ACRE Africa. The Full Stack Software Developer, reporting to the Manager, Digital & Technology Programmes, is responsible for software development, system maintenance, and ensuring the availability, performance, and security of systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance existing features and develop new functionalities while maintaining a high standard of code quality and documentation.

    Knowledge & Capabilities 

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technology field. 
    Experience: Proven experience as a programmer or software developer, including troubleshooting user support issues and testing components for quality application delivery. 
    Programming Proficiency: Strong programming skills in C#, and familiarity with PHP, Python, cross-platform mobile app development, USSD, and SMS development. 
    Desirable Skillsets 
    System Design Principles: Deep understanding of designing complex systems, including modularity, scalability, flexibility, and maintainability. 
    Architecture Patterns: Proficiency in architectural patterns like microservices, monolithic, serverless, and event-driven architectures, and choosing the appropriate one for the project’s needs. 
    DevOps Knowledge: Experience with Git deployment, automation of CI/CD pipelines, version control, containerization. 
    ODK Expertise: Experience in configuring, setting up, tweaking, and integrating ODK tools. 
    Database Skills: Proficiency in relational databases and SQL. In-depth knowledge of various databases (SQL, NoSQL, MysQL, MSSQL, caching) and when to use each based on the application’s requirements. 
    API Driven and Micro service design: Experience with RESTful and SOAP APIs, as well as microservice-driven and API-driven system design. Both consuming external APIs and creating your own, for dynamic applications. 
    Front-End Frameworks: Familiarity with popular frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js, and backend frameworks like Django, Ruby on Rails, Spring Boot, or Express.js to speed up development and maintainability. 
    Agile Methodology: Experience working with agile software development methodologies. 
    Advanced Expertise: Proactively developed expertise in end-to-end processes and technologies related to Machine Learning, Blockchain, and IoT. 
    Layer Management: Proficient in managing development layers, including local and test environments, server and OS setup, database management, application layer, and presentation layer for web and mobile applications. 

    Key Responsibilities 

    Software Development: Collaborate with product managers, product owners, and system analysts to execute programming and software development tasks. 
    Server Environment: Configure server environments using DevOps technologies like containerization and load balancing to ensure reliable platform operations. 
    Collaboration: Work with internal staff, external partners, and testers to create new features and improve existing ones. 
    Technical Input: Participate in technical discussions regarding system features, processes, and functions. 
    Code Quality and Documentation: Deliver high-quality code and thorough technical documentation. Assist fellow developers with integration efforts. 
    Troubleshooting: Address technical issues with user-centered solutions, including bug fixes, refactoring, and identifying areas for enhancement. 
    System Management: Maintain and secure existing data and software environments to sustain optimal performance.

    Job Purpose

    To assist the Head of Technical Services in overseeing the Company’s Distribution & Distribution of water. Ensure that the technical assets (production and distribution) of the Company are acquired, maintained, and operated according to standards and specifications stipulated by the Service Agreement.

    Duties & Responsibilities

     Managing and directing project water production and distribution programs to meet the company needs.
     Researching and advising management on new and emerging water treatment solutions
     Supervision and appraisal of the production teams across all treatment facilities.
     Preparation of daily workplans to mitigate against bursts, leakages and any other distribution network disturbance.
     Ensuring optimum utilization of resources and providing professional leadership to Technical staff
     Prepare and forward for approval periodic technical reports on water treatment and distribution for the approval of the technical manager
     Implementation of the strategic plan and the business plan at the technical level and implementation of management resolutions
     Management of company assets and ensuring proper maintenance schedules are created
     Ensure Non-Revenue Water is reduced to acceptable limits
     Ensure production is ongoing and that sufficient water is produced to meet demand
     Ensure quality tests for compliance with water and wastewater quality standards and policies are done as per WASREB guidelines.

    Qualifications & Experience

     A Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, or its equivalent
     Higher National Diploma in lieu of the Bachelors degree with 7 years’ experience.
     A Registered (Engineer) with a professional body in good standing.
     Working Knowledge of GIS
     Five (5) years relevant working experience with at least two (2) years in a Supervisory Position.
     Must have attended a water treatment course from KEWI or equivalent.
     Must have worked in a water company as a Water Supply Superintendent or an equivalent.

    JOB PURPOSE

     Conduct regular checks on income leakages and co-ordinate process improvements to prevent leakages.

     Running business continuity plans and optimization initiatives.
     Any other duty assigned from time to time.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

     Bachelor’s degree
     Master’s degree would be an added advantage.
     At least Eight (8) years’ experience in banking environment, with a track record of success within operations and operational control environments.
     Extensive knowledge of Banking theory and practice, Central Bank’s rules and regulations and procedures. Possess thorough knowledge of banking products and services and also a wider understanding of the general banking universe/Industry.
     Excellent and demonstrated leadership capacity including possession of strategic development, monitoring,
     execution and reporting skills (Have a strategic outlook)
     Strong organizational, administrative, and analytical skills including oral and written communication skills, negotiation and interpersonal skills and ability to motivate staff.

    Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant feedback, and outcomes.
    Prepare regular reports on the progress, achievements, and challenges of the enterprise development training programs.

    Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

    Key Relationships

    Internal: Programme Managers, Programme Officers, Programme Assistants
    External: Partner organizations & County Government Officials. Stakeholders including farmer groups, co-operatives, donors, and private companies.

    Knowledge, Experience and Skills

    At least 3 years of experience in designing and implementing business development training programs, preferably in the agriculture sector.
    Good analytical and critical thinking skills; Problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
    A proven capability to provide gainful insight and practical and pragmatic solutions to programme challenges with a bias towards action and resolving issues quickly.
    Prior training experience in a relevant field
    Proficient with computer technology and Microsoft Office applications
    Strong oral and written communication skills
    Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
    Professional and pleasant demeanor to meet with programme stakeholders.

    Qualifications/Other Requirements:

    Diploma in agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
    Strong understanding of agribusiness operations, value chains, and market dynamics.
    Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
    Demonstrated experience in providing technical assistance and coaching to entrepreneurs and small businesses.
    Knowledge of financial management, market analysis, and business planning for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
    Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation methodologies and tools for assessing training program impact.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships.

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    Reporting to the Head of I.T – The System Developer/ Data Analyst will be responsible for: –

    Developing solutions that support the business decisions, process improvement and client centricity through data analytics.
    Delivery of cost-effective systems’ solutions and within the set budget while meeting agreed SLAs and the Company’s business requirements

    PRIMARY Duties & Responsibilities

    Develop full cycle application and process automation system as per business requirements
    Offer first line Technical Support for all business and database systems.
    Develop API applications that can fetch data from various social media (twitter, Facebook) to display on our company website.
    Liaise with software vendors to resolve systems issues or escalations.
    Serve as the technical lead for all business systems deployments, upgrades, administration, and maintenance.
    Integrate third party systems/applications with business core systems
    Prepare, communicate and maintain projects and test plans.
    Maintain system security and integrity in line with company standards and governance.
    Offer training to end users on new systems and updated products.
    Pull and analyze data from the business systems and generate meaningful Pivot tables and trend analysis as per business needs.
    Develop data models that facilitate continual examination of the business processes and environment.
    Analyze and interpret complex business data required from multiple sources.
    Conceptualize, design and build reports for internal and external distribution.
    Validate reports and analyze data against internal and external standards.
    Ensure quality assurance for all data and report requirements.
    Conduct regular information-sharing sessions with key business representatives as required.
    Manage and execute data mapping, cleaning, validating, transformation and loading.
    Any other duty as may be assigned by the management from time to time

    Qualifications and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or I.T related field.
    At least 3 years of progressive experience as a Systems Developer/ Data Analyst.
    Professional Certifications; OCP, MCSE
    Experience in Windows, Linux, Citrix Applications, SQL Scripting/ Programming languages and tools
    System testing knowledge

    Required skills and Competencies

    Ability to develop digital system applications and integrate them with business Core systems.
    Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to details
    Excellent Communication skills (both verbal and written)
    Good understanding of Insurance operations
