    The Position Summary
    Reporting to the Country Manager- Kenya, Program Officer- Agriculture and Water Nexus, Kenya, will manage programs and provide technical direction on water management in agriculture landscapes, climate smart agriculture, natural resources management or agroecology and the programming of integrated approaches in agriculture and food systems transformation in Kenya. This will be undertaken through the management of programs and projects, provision of policy advice, strategy development, policy implementation support and institutional strengthening solutions, risk management, creating partnerships and managing grants making at the local level.     Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Relevant Experience & Professional Qualifications

    A Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Agriculture, Development planning and Implementation related disciplines with deep knowledge in Seed systems, Fertilizer systems, Policy Market access, Resilience, FSL, Climate change, Gender, Youth, Water management, agropastoral systems or other relevant areas of the agriculture value chain. 
    Minimum of 7 years’ experience in agri-business and climate smart technologies, agriculture, food systems, livestock development, project development and management in arid and semi-arid areas in Africa.
    Experience in managing multinational initiatives in the private and/or public sector with a sound knowledge of, and experience in climate change adaptation, mitigation and / OR agricultural trade development at national, regional and/or international level.
    Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
    Experience in project operational management, prioritization, sequencing, and execution.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a team orientation and strong collaborative skills.

    Spearheads the preparation of Senior management meetings by drafting the agenda taking notes & ensuring follow-up on action points.
    Act as liaison point between the ARO Senior Management Team and contributes to central projects requiring input from ARO SMT.
    Follows up on yearly key deliverables and objectives as set by the SMT in the Action Plan.

    Support Executive the Executive Office Team (15 %)

    Actively participate and make contributions during the weekly Global Executive Team (GEOT) Meetings
    Coordinates the bimonthly all team meetings, including organizing the logistics, collating, compiling, formatting, and distributing the bimonthly report and presentation slide deck.
    As needed, covers the absence of the Travel Officer.

    Reporting line

    The Executive Office Associate reports to the Senior Executive Office Associate has a secondary reporting line to the ARO Director
    Works closely with the ARO Senior Management Team, interacts with entire DNDi ARO Team, closely supports DNDi Global Teams in their interactions with the AROs and the Global Executive Team.

    Experience

    Minimum of 3 years’ experience with graduate degree
    Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and matrix structure.
    Fluency in both oral and written English
    Experience in Microsoft Suite. Knowledge of SharePoint is desirable.

    Education

    Graduate or post graduate degree in a relevant field.
