Job Overview:
IRC health team staff from Uganda and South Sudan will be forming a design sprint Core Team to generate a solution to increase the uptake of contraceptives among refugee and vulnerable host community adolescents. Adolescents face many challenges in taking up contraceptives, including:
Needing family permission to access services
Beliefs that contraception is for sex workers
Health providers who refuse to provide services
Health services aimed at women and babies that do not meet the interests or needs of young people
The IRC supports mobile and facility-based health services either directly and indirectly through government services.
Major Responsibilities:
Co-lead the remote design sprint planning & facilitation
Design research planning and execution
Prototype planning, creation of prototype assets, and support testing
Deliverables:
Sprint remote collaboration platform preparation and tools
Prototyping and design research plan
Prototyping assets
Revised design
Final Report: design insights and frameworks, testing results, recommendations
Job Requirements:
Work Experience:
Design research experience of 3-5 years
Prototyping experience of 3-5 years
Service design experience 3-5 years
Work in reproductive health or in low resource contexts experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

Graphic Design
Language Skills:
English
Swahili preferred
Preferred experience & skills:
Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills as well as, an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications
Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional global team structure
Highly proficient in Adobe Suite
Highly proficient in Google Suite

Working Environment:
Part time remote work (approx 75% time) for 8 weeks – Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled work hours.
