Position: Vacant Position (3) – Clinical Officer
Duty Station: AICHM Kalobeyei /Kakuma health center
Report to: Medical Supervisor /Coordinator.
Job description
AIC Health Ministries invites applications from experienced persons to fill the position clinical officers and candidate should ready to respond to COVID-19 pandemic. Under the guidance of an experienced clinical Officer. The job holder is expected to do consultation/diagnoses, examine patients and offer minor operations at outpatient department in AICHM Kakuma health center in Turkana West Sub-County. Her/his job is also to strengthen provision of primary Health Care activities.
Responsibilities:
Provision of promotive, preventive, curative services to refugees and survivors of human conflict, gender based
Perform minor surgical procedures.
Diagnose and treat patients’ ailments at an outpatient or inpatient department in a hospital or health
Patient stabilization and
Providing appropriate health care services including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI).
Participate in carrying out needs assessment, disease surveillance, monitoring and evaluation to the set objectives in projects area of
Provision of promotive, preventive, curative services to refugees and survivors of human
Ensure that systems for keeping patient/client and other relevant records are well maintained
Compiling of weekly reports and monthly reports and submitting the same to relevant bodies (AICHM & MoH).
Planning and conduct primary health care
Supervise and counsel staff engaged on routine patients’
Health education to
Conduct continuous Medical education (CME) for other staff
Supervise the health center staff and provide staff development opportunity according to individual needs and stationary
Provide, promote, prevent and curative health care service to the community at the static and mobile out reaches.
Maintaining health center supplies according to standing
Ensure working schedule (duty rota), on call, C.M.E leave and staff establishment are in place.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to you by the supervisor as deemed
Qualifications:
Diploma in clinical medicine & surgery
Registered by the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya
Have a valid practicing license from Clinical Officers Council of Kenya
Computer literate
Knowledge of clinical medicine theory and practice
Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential
Strong interpersonal skills
Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible, emotional maturity and physical stamina
Ability to lead a team, to initiate activities, delegate, manage and contribute to a team building environment
Ability to maintain performance expectation in diverse clinical and non clinical teams, psychologically stressful environments and physically hardship conditions with limited resources.
