Accounts Assistant

Job description
We are seeking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to be based at its Head Office in Nairobi on a one year contract renewable subject to performance and renewal of the KAMP operating license.
The Accounts Assistant will report to the Senior Accountant. He/she will be charged with providing administrative support to the accounts department, data entry, processing, and recording transactions, updating the ledger, assisting with audits or fact-checking, and preparing budgets and reports.
Responsibilities

Carrying out general accounting and administrative duties as necessary.
Making decisions that are consistent with the company’s core values.
Date stamping all new invoices and then forwarding them onto the appropriate department heads.
Balancing monthly accounts.
Responding to vendor, auditor and employee inquiries regarding invoices.
Producing accurate financial statements.
Completing tax returns, Typing correspondence, reports, and letters.
Ensuring that the cash recorded by the cashier agrees with bank records.
Daily cashbook management.
Using computerised accounting systems to maintain accurate records.
Auditing accounts for accuracy.
Preparing wages and managing claims for expenses.
Arranging purchase orders Managing day-to-day internal controls.
Reconciling monthly statements for the bank and the payroll
Processing all refund requests.
Filing of all accounting records appropriately
Performing any other related duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant.

 Qualifications

Holder of CPA part II or III
Age between 25-35 years old
2 years of experience in accounting/finance
Knowledge on the use of accounting software basically QuickBooks and ERP systems will be an added advantage.
Proficiency in the use of MS. Office suite
Good communication and inter personal skills
