We are looking for a Head of Human Resources.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of HR will be overall responsible for the Human Resource function of the organisation. He/she will ensure that the Human Capital at Medanta is optimally resourced, engaged and motivated and delivers on the brand promise.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Overall in charge of running the HR function in the company efficiently within approved budgets
Align the HR strategy to the overall business strategy objectives
Implement strategies that ensure all staff deliver value added service to patients, clients and all stakeholders
Develop an annual manpower plan to entail headcount analysis, departmental structures and all staff costs
Responsible for supporting the Hiring Manager in the recruitment and selection process, including recruiting contract staff and locums
Create a robust onboarding and orientation system
Establish an effective Performance Management System for the company in line with the Strategic Plan
Develop and manage a fair and effective Rewards and Recognition system, inclusive of justifiable salary grades, performance-based rewards, commissions and incentives
Champion and model the Company Culture as defined by the Strategy
Have a keen and proactive understanding of statutory requirements and ensure adherence to all labour requirements
Create effective discipline and grievance policies and processes and ensure they are followed
Oversee an efficient and effective HR administration system where all documentation is always up-to-date and accurate
Provide leadership support & mentorship to managers and team leaders and assist them in managing their teams to meet performance expectations and demonstrate the company culture articulated in the strategy
Lead Organizational Development & optimize the Human Capital
Conduct a Training Needs Analysis and organize and coordinate effective internal and external training programs for all teams. Will be expected to conduct training
Implement employee retention strategies leading to an engaged team and to ensure low staff turnover
Oversee the efficient running of the HRMIS for effective and efficient processing of information
Ensure optimal internal communication for all teams including those in satellite locations
Manage and develop the HR team and oversee all the HR functions
Prepare the department’s budgets
Person’s specifications
Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related Field
A higher Diploma in HR
At least 5 years’ experience in HR Management, with at least two within the healthcare industry as an added advantage
Demonstrated knowledge of excellent strategic HR systems, processes, procedures and practices
Thorough understanding of the Kenyan labour laws
Able to implement an excellent performance management system
Working knowledge of strategy implementation
Fully registered to practice HR in Kenya
Very high emotional intelligence
Must have excellent people skills
Keen attention to detail
Excellent communication skills both oral and in writing
Experience dealing with culture change
A confident leader, able to inspire and motivate teams
Lively and energetic
Must have strong training skills, able to create training content
