Save the Children’s origins lie in emergency response, and this has remained central to our work ever since. Save the Children UK has a long tradition of commitment to building the skills and capability of humanitarians worldwide in order that humanitarian responses are well staffed and fulfil the needs required, especially at national and regional level.
As part of the wider Humanitarian department, the Humanitarian Capacity Building team focuses on building the capacity of humanitarians through a wide range of innovative professional development programmes. The team manage and implement a range of initiatives intended to build global surge capacity, develop talent at all levels, and provide professional training opportunities for national staff. The team consists of staff based both in the UK and Kenya, with small teams in Jordan and Bangladesh.
