Reporting to : Sectors Manager
Job Purpose:
To provide coordination and support services to enable Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Sub-sector of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers advance their objectives and especially with special focus on the following themes:-
Take Back and Extended Producer Responsibility schemes for PET Bottles establishment;
Clean-up activities on PET waste bottles;
Anti-littering awareness campaigns;
Research to support the areas listed above.
Responsibilities
1. Coordination support of PET engagements
Support in planning and execution of PET sub sector activities including but not limited to county clean-up activities, awareness raising and stakeholder forums;
Participation in PET sub sector related programme development/ event planning meetings and workshops;
Identify and mobilize stakeholders for partnerships towards effective PET waste management programmes;
Support resources mobilization for implementation of PET sub sector activities;
Support sectors manager with effective account management of sector members;
Generating monthly PET sector specific reports through the Sectors Manager;
Update and circulate to PET sub sector members issues tracker on a monthly basis and whenever necessary;
Track and manage PET Funds in liaison with KAM Finance;
2. Membership recruitment and retention
Assist in PET sub sector membership recruitment and retention within Nairobi and the KAM Chapters;
Support with effective account management of PET sub sector members;
Support Sectors Manager in secretarial duties for key industrial sectors and organizing sectors activities and to provide secretariat services to the sectors;
Maintain database for key contacts from different sectors to enhance KAM services and networks;
Support to monitor and evaluate of the execution of PET sub sectors activities;
Providing secretarial duties at PET sub sector meetings;
Support in development and updating of Industrial sector profiles;
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive.
Required Qualifications and Person Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, background in Environmental science is an added advantage;
At least three (3) years’ relevant experience in a busy business advocacy organization;
Firsthand experience in government engagement, stakeholder management and public policy formulation;
A good understanding of government and regulatory framework governing industry;
Excellent project management and administrative skills;
In-depth knowledge of industrial Sectors in Kenya and willingness to learn on global trends;
Strong Fundraising skills, results focused and innovative with excellent communication and presentation skills;
Excellent relationship management and networking skills with ability to effectively mobilize diverse stakeholders and coordinate them towards common goals;
Have good organizational skills, be a team player and possess keen attention to detail.
