Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the job holder will manage the Federation’s public relations and communications function to promote a positive corporate image.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop internal and external communication strategy and plans to ensure its implementation
Facilitate advocacy and lobbying initiatives
Manage media Relations including ensuring media coverage for FKE events, media monitoring and acting as the key media communications contact
Develop corporate communication content and materials for members and other stakeholders. This includes newsletters, news releases, brochures and E- shots.
Develop, manage and monitor content for the website, digital and social media platforms
Prepare speeches, briefing notes and documentation for the CEO for all key meetings locally and internationally
Provide guidance on protocols to be observed in corporate communications
Prepare organisational and continental annual reports
Manage branding and branding guidelines including coordination of external designers, agencies and vendors
Events management to promote public relations, corporate image and members’ engagement
Manage internal communication within the Federation and promote flow of information at all levels
Perform any other duties as required from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, International Relations or a related field
A master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations/Mass Communications
8 years’ relevant experience in Communications handling related assignments in a busy corporate environment of which atleast 3 years should be at a management position.
Current membership in a relevant professional body

Outstanding interpersonal and relational skills enabling the individual to work with people at all levels internally and externally
Strong oral and written communication skills
Sound report writing skills with ability to prepare internal and external communication for varied audiences
High level innovation and creative skills. Experience in managing online campaigns and digital strategy is a must.
Strong media relations and media management skills
Strategic thinking, planning and execution skills
A self-driven person with demonstrated integrity and independent thinking.
